Towards Team Formation Using Belbin Role Types and a Social Networks Analysis Approach 使用Belbin角色类型和社会网络分析方法构建团队

Problems relating to team formation is common across many industrial sectors, including education, sport and general business. For Team Leaders, team member selection can be a critical challenge due to the complexity in creating a well-balanced productive unit. It is beyond manual implementation to build near optimal teams as pools of employees grow. One of the essential skills of individuals is the ability to work in a team, and it takes on greater importance in engineering workgroups, where each member must know how to collaborate with their colleagues. In this paper, we use the combination of the Belbin roles and the social network analysis approach to find the possible members of a team. We present a case study based on an undergraduate course in computer engineering, we apply the Belbin test to each student, and each student expresses his preferences to work with his classmates. With this data, similarity patterns were searched within a social network using network analysis algorithms. We compare the results of the network analysis with the groups formed by a teacher. Finally, we discuss the advantages and disadvantages of project teams, from the proposed approach.

Assessment of Readiness for Smart Manufacturing and Innovation in Korea 韩国智能制造和创新准备情况评估

Innovation of manufacturing in the Industry 4.0 era accompanies integration of ICT, such as the Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical System, and change the conventional factory into a smart factory. An assessment tool is suggested to measure how much a company or a country is ready for the innovation represented by smart factory. Current manufacturing innovation has two aspects; one is smart appliances to be equipped into a factory, the other is change in organization and culture within manufacturing enterprises. Those two viewpoints are reflected in the assessment criteria for measurement of smartness readiness. The assessment model includes intuitional and comprehensible criteria so that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can easily assess their readiness for Industry 4.0. A pilot survey was conducted by applying the designed tool in order to measure the Industry 4.0 readiness of manufacturing industry in Korea.

Cooperative game study on Kano's model and quality function deployment 卡诺模型与质量功能部署的合作博弈研究

Cooperative game is incorporated in the quality function deployment (QFD) procedure in two major parts. The first part is to obtain the importance weights of customer requirements through the implementation of Kano's model and Shapley value. Subsequently, the second part is the formulation of a non-linear programming model to optimize the target levels of engineering characteristics in the new generation product, whose objective function reflects the bargaining between different fulfillment levels of customer requirements so as to maximize the overall customer satisfaction. Finally, the importance weight calculation is applied in an example of a personal computer design.

Presently, intangible assets are becoming more important, such as information and knowledge. Organizations seek to be more competitive in a globalized world where it is now competed throughout the world. These organizations have multiple generations in their workforce, the next leaders will be the millennial generation, however, this generation has different characteristics and needs. There are different models of knowledge management, but there is none for this new paradigm change, it is necessary to create a model adapted to this new context. The variables considered in the model are organizational competitiveness, open innovation, open leadership and organizational culture.

Learning Health Systems: A Multi-perspective Analysis 学习卫生系统:多视角分析

Big time-gaps in the practical transformation of clinical knowledge into clinical practices, ever increasing healthcare costs, high rates of medical errors, healthcare institutions' obligations towards improving safety, clinical outcomes, and efficacy of care from one side and the rise of disruptive innovations such as genomics, wearables, machine learning and artificial intelligence in health systems, the adoption of EHRs and novel diagnostic tools, and the plethora of data from the other side has made the need for a new approach in managing the U.S healthcare systems an imperative. One of the ways in dealing with these changes is the establishment of Learning Health Systems (LHS) in which healthcare systems are aligned with continuous improvement and innovation from scientific, informatics, incentives, and culture aspects and knowledge about best practices is consistently captured, assimilated, and embedded within the system. However, despite the fact that the adoption of LHS is a multi-perspective one, there is not enough literature on the multidimensionality of this topic. This paper aims to identify and look into the different perspectives that have effects on the learning health system adoption in U.S by conducting PEST strategic analysis as an initial step towards a more multidimensional look into this topic.

An Empirical Investigation of the Effects of Individuality on Responses to Data Theft Crimes 个性对数据盗窃犯罪反应影响的实证研究

E-commerce transactions have been rapidly increasing (over 20% from 2016 to 2017), and in addition the number of data thefts has been increasing. Data thefts cause a loss of trust by the customer, but previous research has failed to identify how such events change customer perceptions and also influence future shopping behavior. Our survey of 400 individuals provides insight into how the individuality of the crime victims (targeting of a few named individuals or a large customer database) has strong effects. Specifically, respondents were more likely to blame the victims and less likely to blame the business if a few individuals were targeted. Blaming the business and the individuality of the crime did have a significant effect on revisiting the business. However, blaming the victims did not have a significant effect on revisiting.

Organizational Adaptive Strategies to Changes in Product Technological System: An Ongoing Research and Case Studies 产品技术系统变化的组织适应策略:一项正在进行的研究和案例研究

Shifts in technological paradigms simultaneously disrupt existing industrial organization and raise opportunities for entrepreneurial companies. Analyzing the process of paradigm shift requires a systematic framework which involves a variety of factors related to market conditions, industrial organization, and the broader technical environment. How firms adapt to such paradigmatic changes requires special attention yet very few studies have been conducted. This research proposes a dynamic typology which couples organizational adaptive strategies to various patterns of technological paradigm shift. The dynamic typology is expected to serve as an analytic framework which facilitates technological firms shift strategies along with technological changes. Incorporating interactive firm strategies with technological changes of the typology is expected to overcome long time criticism on the static nature of strategic typology researches.

An Experiential Report on Using a Software Factory in a Rural State to Promote Entrepreneurship 利用软件工厂促进农村创业的经验报告

Teaching software engineering and developing a sense of entrepreneurship in rural communities is challenging, particularly when students need to develop hands-on experience in the context of a realistic work environment. A Software Factory was established at Montana State University in 2014 as an innovative approach to teach entrepreneurship and software engineering. The physical space of the Software Factory emulates a real-world environment that facilitates an intimate experience for undergraduate students to interact with professional organizations such as commercial companies, startups, non-profit organizations and schools. Many computer science students located in rural states face challenges when trying to obtain professional experiences. The Software Factory provides a self-sustaining and meaningful way of bridging this gap by pairing teams of undergraduate students with viable established or startup high-tech companies. In this experiential report, we present a compilation of results from 16 collaborations over four years, the challenges faced, the lessons learned to date, and our plans for future improvements.

The physical space of the Software Factory emulates a real-world environment that facilitates an intimate experience for undergraduate students to interact with professional organizations such as commercial companies, startups, non-profit organizations and schools. Many computer science students located in rural states face challenges when trying to obtain professional experiences. The Software Factory provides a self-sustaining and meaningful way of bridging this gap by pairing teams of undergraduate students with viable established or startup high-tech companies. Knowledge management (KM) is a significant tool and a critical resource to ensure the accomplishment of any project effectively. Detection of what is needed in terms of the knowledge, readiness level and overall understanding needed by a project can be successfully identified by various knowledge management tools. Early use of KM practices can be rewarding for the overall project. However, a collaborative knowledge management (KM) approach into project management is a challenging task that requires a clear understanding of the value of the knowledge management activities and how to integrate them within a project lifecycle. However, this study aims to evaluate and score the knowledge management (KM) activities that impact the implementation of knowledge management (KM) concept in project lifecycle including leadership, organization, technology, and learning based on project management experts point view using a hierarchical decision model (HDM).

Evaluating Socioeconomic Influences on Pinterest Consumer Behavior 评估社会经济对Pinterest消费者行为的影响

Given the increasing popularity of social media channels for influential consumption mechanisms, this research aims to evaluate socioeconomic factors with Pinterest behaviors, underpinned by consumer behavior characteristics. Strategic recommendations are also proposed for marketing managers to optimize their usage of Pinterest. An online questionnaire was completed by a sample of 50 Pinterest users, while 4 face-to-face interviews were conducted with the aim of providing a framework for enhanced use of Pinterest. Findings indicated that virtual exploration is seen as a key Pinterest motivator, supported by the top pinboard rankings of Food, DIY, and Home. Secondly, occupation and family status were the two most significant socioeconomic factors that influences behavioral uses of Pinterest. A concentrated population between ages 25–34, representing higher income households and occupations consisting of Teachers and Business Professionals, exemplified the highest usage and self-efficacy of Pinterest. Low frequency of actual consumption through Pinterest, resulting in high visual consumption, curation of pins, and pinning behaviors were apparent throughout all socioeconomic factors, however the minimal actual consumption can be improved upon, as ease-of-use features are enhanced to embedded e-commerce and online blogs.
