This study aims to describe the development of coastal village communities through BUM Desa (Badan Usaha Milik Desa) in Gebang Village, Teluk Pandan Subdistrict and Durian Village, Padang Cermin Subdistrict, Pesawaran District, Lampung Province. Qualitative methods involved documentary study and in-depth interviews with informants who dealt with the management of BUM Desa. The results showed that in Gebang Village, there were empowerment efforts carried out by Mitra Bentala and CSR JAPFA Company Comfeed Indonesia Tbk. Supporting factors for community involvement in those two locations included external support from organizations. Inhibiting factors were the division of responsibilities and authorities among stakeholders who did not have a structure yet. The community empowerment that was congruent with the socio-cultural culture of the local community in Gebang Village used a participatory model. The empowerment model in Durian Village combined endogenous (bottom-up) and community-based development models.__________The original draft of this article has been presented at the 6th International Conference on Social and Political Sciences (ICoSaPS) 2020, Strengthening Resilient Society in the Disruptive Era, Surakarta, October 7-8th, 2020.

Street vendor (Pedagang Kaki Lima - PKL) is the most incarnation of the informal economy with the biggest role even at the state level. Unfortunately, PKL is blamed as the source of problems and surrounded by the threat of eviction which still happened in DKI Jakarta as the symbol and magnet of development in Indonesia. The qualitative method is used with study cases empowered by life history for revealing the vulnerability and survival strategy of the PKL household. The result shows the unforeseeable fact that PKL in Triangle Gold of DKI Jakarta potentially can reach income as same as regional minimum wage in DKI Jakarta. At the same time, the eviction and number of customers are the PKL’s vulnerability factors. Social capital is essential to start a new job or business as PKL, while strengthened by push and pulling factors to migrate from rural to city. Bridging and bonding with stakeholders through adaptation with the changing rule are the PKL’s main strategies to survive; besides preserving the identity and norms of PKL boost the adhesion of the PKL community to encounter a hard time. Beyond that, resignation value to God and effort for growing are determinant aspects that differ between PKL who have more or less revenue.

Creative economy is not only contributed toward social welfare but also creates identity. This case study takes place in Kendal Regency Central Java Province. the purposes of this study are to observe the creative economy landscape, to give initial data and conceptual input for the Kendal Regency Government to conceptualize their city branding. As exploratory research, this research is using mixed methods. Quantitative descriptive data was gathered by the survey on the creative economy subsectors. Qualitative data were taken from non-participant observation, semistructured interviews, and literature review. This exploratory study found that 10 of 16 creative economy subsectors have existed in Kendal Regency. Visual communication design; product design; film, animation, video; photography; craft art; culinary; fashion; art performance; and music. These clusters can be used as city identity to formulate city branding, especially the craft art; culinary, film, animation, video; and art performance. Unfortunately, these potential resources were not involved on city branding created by the local government. In symbolic interactionism, people and their environment influence each other in culture-making processes. And so, in the processes of city branding. All the elements of the city should be in synergy to make a city branding. Bit it is not found in Kendal Regency. __________The original draft of this article has been presented at the 6th International Conference on Social and Political Sciences (ICoSaPS) 2020, Strengthening Resilient Society in The Disruptive Era, Surakarta, October 7-8th, 2020.

Island market has become the culture of the small-island community that was formed due to limited transportation facilities, so market only exists at certain times. Markets develop from the process of exchanging goods between people coming from different places and profession. This study aims to describe the process of commodity marketing, describe the role of papalele in the exchange of farmers' and fishermen's products, and describe the commodity market that is formed in society. This research uses a case study approach, because of the existence of a typical island market that only exists on small islands such as Saparua Island. The informants consisted of fifteen papalele mothers spread over fifteen regions in the island (negeri) and always carried out activities to the island market in Saparua City. The research results showed that the marketing process for agricultural commodities begins with an exchange between farmers and fishermen. Then it developed with various exchange processes with the presence of papalele women. Commodities eventually developed with the movement of papalele as a collector at the region level, and later became recipients of pawns for agricultural commodities, even collecting agricultural and fishery commodities from the region around where they lived. Finally, a permanent market was formed in the State of Saparua, Saparua Island, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The high rate of child marriage has become a global community concern, including in Indonesia as the world's biggest Muslim country. This study explores the views and experiences of Muslim girls and local actors about early marriage in rural areas of Java, Indonesia. The case study was performed in a hamlet on Mount Sumbing, approximately 10 km from Temanggung District, Central Java, Indonesia. Eighteen female informants were interviewed, consisting of girls married before 18 years old during the 1990-2020 periods. The data were also collected from several vital informants: community figures, parents, and married couples. This study concluded that women who married at a young age still consider early marriage normal and acceptable from a socio-cultural perspective. For the local community, marrying their child at a very young age will guarantee labor availability, psychological security in old age and strengthen family bonds. On the other hand, the seriousness of life's challenges towards adulthood leads marriage at a young age to become a choice of socio-psychological coping mechanisms idealized by some young women. This phenomenon is also influenced by the existing local socio-cultural values that place marriage as a solution to socio-economic, socio-cultural problems and guarantee future generations' continuity. The seriousness of life's challenges towards maturity lead youth marriage as a socio-psychological coping mechanism was idealized by some young women due to gaps in knowledge about the impact of young married labor. This perspective is also influenced by the existing local socio-cultural values that place marriage as a solution to socio-economic problems and a simple procedure for marrying young through marriage dispensation.

Indonesia is considered unable to handle problems amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of work termination (PHK) continues to increase, the debt for countermeasures is also getting bigger, but the pandemic has not been resolved. The concept of the 2014 Mental Revolution should be able to deal with the problems of Indonesian society at critical times. The concept is no longer heard while the public has not lived it. This paper aims to examine the concept of mental revolution during the COVID 19 pandemic. This article uses qualitative research methods, which are literature research. The data in this study were obtained and obtained from the literature. Data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing were the data analysis methods used. The analysis results show that the concept of mental revolution in this pandemic situation needs to be echoed again to move dynamically, adjusting the conditions of society during the pandemic period. The concept of mental revolution in community character does not lose the spirit of cooperation in facing both mentally and economically crises. In addition, the policy of shifting to an online system tests the workforce's integrity. However, it has also succeeded in triggering a work ethic and cooperation towards a digital society so that a mental revolution plays a significant role in this situation. Therefore, the Mental Revolution in the series of the Nawacita agenda is expected to run well, continuously, and full of enthusiasm and cooperation in its implementation to survive the pandemic era and achieve national development.

This study aimed to reveal both the narrative identities of elderly masculinity and the psychological dynamics that accompanied the journey of life as an older man. Five older men, who live in a geriatric house in Yogyakarta, were participated in this study. This study used hermeneutic-phenomenological approaches, with critical narrative analysis developed from Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutics for the data analysis. The results showed that the face of elderly masculinity is paradoxical masculinity. At the ideal level, the older men appropriated hegemonic masculinity and were in the marginalized masculinity position at the level of reality. Masculine subjects had been experienced the maturation effect of togetherness with their wife. Wife has been an important subject as a medium for growth and a medium to maintain traditional manhood. Paradoxical condition and their intersection with the complexity of the psychological dynamics made older men offer a wiser masculine attitude and transform into positive masculinity values such as gratitude, acceptance of life, sincerity, and caring.

Radical movements colored the 2019 Elections, especially the dichotomy of the Jokowi and Prabowo camps. This phenomenon also occurs among the people of Yogyakarta after the 2019 Presidential Election. The research aims to map the transformation of fundamentalist groups in Yogyakarta after the 2019 Presidential Election. The significant analysis was carried out to provide sources of information to the public and government regarding the transformation of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) after the 2019 Presidential Election. The researchers used qualitative descriptive methods with the analysis of the theory of social resource mobilization. The research results showed that the transformation of the radical movement that formerly took the anarchist forms and down to the streets, now is more focused and organized by entering the community through religious education and recitation groups, both in universities and at household meetings. This research concludes that in order not to be parallel to HTI, which the government dissolved, the transformation of tranquility is one way to maintain the existence of radical organizations but in a more friendly framework or guise. All of these resource mobilization movements take the form of informal social networks.

Cosmopolitanism among migrant workers may present as the result of interpretations between transnational mobility, class, and cultural intermediary. Applying the ethnographic method this research was carried out during 2018-2019, which took Indonesian student-migrant workers aged 20-35 years in South Korea as informants. Travel and immigration, and higher education experiences have left Indonesian migrant workers at work in any places both in and out of campus areas. These practices show that the broader social, cultural, and individual agendas are one way of recognizing a new cosmopolitanism. There are two factors influence the cosmopolitanism process of Indonesian migrant workers; first, the transnational migration process. Second, the process of cultural intermediation in universities. This study reveals significant differences in how Indonesian migrant workers respond to the possibilities and opportunities of transnational mobility, from developing the cultural acceptance skills needed in their life trajectories for building network relationships with other transnational actors. Higher education for migrant workers has introduced another form of work, namely cultural intermediation, which can be seen as a cosmopolitan process.

Persons with disabilities deal with complex challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially those who live in the villages. The pandemic situation has brought limitations for persons with disabilities to get proper services both in health and social assistance. The strict regulation during COVID-19 became challenging for rural villages. Persons with disabilities as a vulnerable group is an essential part of inclusive development. This research aims to identify why involving persons with disabilities matters and analyze how rural villages implement inclusive development without 'leaving no one behind'. The method of the study is mixed-method. The result shows that involving persons with disabilities has significant impacts on the village development during pandemics. The study concludes that it is important to manage inclusive management both in village development and space provision for the organizations working with persons with disabilities to accommodate the needs and empowerment of the persons with disabilities._________The original draft of this article has been presented on the 6th International Conference on Social and Political Sciences (ICOSAPS) 2020: "Strengthening Resilient Society in the Disruptive Era" at Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta, Indonesia.
