Introdução: No âmbito do câncer infantil, o profissional de enfermagem realiza um cuidado direcionado e humanizado, onde articula saberes e práticas para assistência. Objetivos: Descrever a atuação do enfermeiro na assistência oncológica pediátrica. Identificar os principais diagnósticos de enfermagem. Método: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura por meio das bases de dados: LILACS, BDENF e biblioteca eletrônica SciELO. Foram selecionados artigos de 2012 a 2022, utilizando os seguintes descritores: Oncologia, Enfermeiros, Diagnóstico de Enfermagem, Cuidados de Enfermagem e Cuidado da Criança. A amostra final foi constituída de nove artigos no idioma português. Resultados: A atuação do enfermeiro na oncologia pediátrica exige habilidades de empatia e criação de vínculo com a criança e sua família, usando do conhecimento técnico científico para orientar sobre a doença e minimizar os estigmas referentes ao câncer, sendo necessário o equilíbrio emocional, pois nem sempre o tratamento apresenta um resultado positivo. A liderança e a comunicação efetiva com a equipe são fundamentais na qualidade do tratamento, na redução do estresse, promoção do bem-estar, relacionamento interpessoal e gestão emocional. Para proporcionar bem-estar a criança, o enfermeiro deve inserir o lúdico na sua assistência, possibilitando o conforto durante a internação. Os principais diagnósticos de enfermagem identificados são: Risco de infecção, dor aguda, dor crônica, conforto prejudicado, integridade da pele prejudicada, risco de lesão por pressão na criança, hipertermia, mucosa oral prejudicada, nutrição desequilibrada: menor do que as necessidades corporais, constipação, medo, ansiedade. Conclusão: O câncer infantil traz ao enfermeiro uma assistência desafiadora, sendo necessária a capacitação deste profissional para a prestação de uma assistência de excelência. A Sistematização de Assistência da Enfermagem torna-se de suma importância para que, conforme a necessidade de cada qual, seja aplicado um tratamento individualizado com base nos diagnósticos de enfermagem, proporcionando uma assistência humanizada e prezando o bem-estar da criança.

If there are vague propositions, then the question arises whether it is rational to care intrinsically about the vague. This paper argues—contra Bacon (2018), the most comprehensive defence of vague proposition to date—that it is. Some things, such as pain, may be rational to care intrinsically about only if precise, but some things, such as truth, are rational to care intrinsically about even if vague.

Photography is valued as a medium for recording and visually reproducing features of the world. I seek to challenge the view that photography is fundamentally a recording process and that every photograph is a record—a view that I claim is based on a ‘single-stage’ misconception of the process. I propose an alternative, ‘multi-stage’ account in which I argue that causal registration of light is not equivalent to recording and reproducing an image. Intervention or non-intervention by photographers is more sophisticated than the traditional view allows. Using the multi-stage account, I describe four models for producing photographic images and pictures.

Aesthetic beautification is a familiar artistic phenomenon. Even as they face death, heroes and heroines in operas still sing glorious music. Characters in Shakespearean tragedies still deliver beautifully eloquent speeches in the throes of despair. Even when depicting suffering and horror, paintings can still remain a transfixing delight for the eyes. In such cases, the work of art represents or expresses something to which we would, in ordinary life, attribute a negative valence (suffering, horror, death, and the like), but it does so beautifully. Doubtless there is not a single explanation for what transpires in art of this sort or in our experience of it. With some aesthetically beautified art, its foremost goal might be giving aesthetic pleasure, and the beauty of the aesthetic form, even when depicting horrors, is in the service of this primary aim. In other art, the beautification might seek to be jarring and thought-provoking, highlighting a disconnect between the aesthetic frame and what is portrayed. These routes explain much of aesthetic beautification. But I am particularly interested in considering another, still more specific, response: finding ourselves somehow consoled by the beautification. I begin with some reflections on aesthetic beautification in general, and then turn to consider how beautification and consolation might be connected, and what to make of this.

In ‘Normative Facts and Reasons’, Fabienne Peter proposes that there are two different types of practical warrant, which she terms ‘entitlement warrant’ and ‘reason-based justification’. This thesis relies fundamentally on her distinction between normative facts and normative reasons. I will raise two general critical observations. First, I will claim that Peter advocates a representation-dependent conception of reasons that is at odds with an intuitive and accepted understanding of them. Second, I will contend that reasons need not be the entities we directly handle in our deliberations, which undermines the idea that reasons are propositions. In this way, her distinction fails: normative reasons are just normative facts. This implies that the existence of two types of practical warrant, based either on normative facts or reasons, is unfounded.

RNA can be modified by over 170 types of distinct chemical modifications, and the most abundant internal modification of mRNA in eukaryotes is N6-methyladenosine (m6A). The m6A modification accelerates mRNA process, including mRNA splicing, translation, transcript stability, export and decay. m6A RNA modification is installed by methyltransferase-like proteins (writers), and potentially removed by demethylases (erasers), and this process is recognized by m6A-binding proteins (readers). Notably, alterations of m6A-modified proteins (writers, erasers and readers) are involved in the tumorigenesis, progression and metastasis. Importantly, the fate of m6A-methylated mRNA is mediated mostly through m6A readers, and among these readers, insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding proteins (IGF2BPs) are unique RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) that stabilize their targets mRNA via m6A modification. In this review, we update the writers, erasers and readers, and their cross-talks in m6A modification, and briefly discuss the oncogenic role of IGF2BPs in cancer. Most importantly, we mainly review the up-to-date knowledges of IGF2BPs (IGF2BP1/2/3) as m6A readers in an m6A-modified manner in cancer progression.
