Introduction: Changes in blood morphological and rheological parameters and the related mechanisms in the human body are still not fully understood. They should be subjected to constant revisions and analyses, not only specific, but also modified by external factors. Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate and compare hemorheological parameters of blood during interval training combined with occlusion and cooling in young healthy people.Material and methods: 30 students of the University of Physical Education in Krakow were examined. The VASPER training system was used, offering the possibility of using occlusion factors and local cryotherapy with HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) training at the same time. Blood from people participating in the project was collected six times (2 weeks before the start of training, immediately before the start of training, after the first training, after 10th training sessions, after 20th training sessions and two weeks after the end of training sessions). The subjects were divided into 3 groups: with occlusion and local cryotherapy, with occlusion and a control group (exercises only). Each person performed the same HIIT training routine, modified by factors depending on the assigned group. Results: In all groups, positive changes in hematological and rheological parameters were observed, occurring at a similar time and pace, regardless of the occlusion and local cryotherapy modifications used. Conclusions: The use of HIIT training using occlusion and cooling, occlusion alone and without additional modifications, can have a positive effect on hematological and rheological parameters in young healthy people and can be used to improve health and well-being. Further research is necessary to confirm the obtained results.

Objective: To determine the association of visceral organs involvement in non-specific low back pain. Methods: A cross sectional analytical study was conducted in Max Health Hospital and Islamabad Healing Center Private Limited from March to November 2020. A total of 384 male and female aged 30 to 50 years having back pain for at least 3 months were selected through non-probability purposive sampling. Participants were assessed on numeric pain rating scale, inclinometer, straight leg raise and motility test for visceral organs including stomach, liver, intestine, colon and kidney. All the assessment were carried out on the spot and recorded on structured questionnaires. Results: A total of 320 participants responded with a mean age of the participants was 38.9 years. The most common viscera involved in back pain was stomach having a frequency 296 (37%), followed by small intestine (n=211). Participants with age group 30-35 yrs, the highest reported visceral involvement were stomach (n=114), followed by small intestine (n=83) and liver (n=55) respectively. Liver, stomach and small intestine were involved more in female. There was statistical difference between back pain with visceral involvement and back pain without visceral involvement. All the viscera, namely liver, stomach, small intestine, colon and kidney were significantly associated with back pain (p<0.05).Conclusion: This study concluded that there is a significant association of visceral organ involvement in participants with non-specific back pain. The most common viscera involved in back pain was stomach followed by small intestine, liver, colon and kidney.

Introduction: AS (ankylosing spondylitis) is a systemic disease that impairs entire body functioning of a patient. The most common dysfunctions concern the area of the chest, spine and upper limb. As a consequence of these dysfunctions, the lungs of patients work in abnormal conditions, impairing their functioning. Objectives: The aim of the study is assessing the impact of rehabilitation among patients with AS on functional and respiratory parameters.Material and methods: The study comprised 45 patients divided into two groups. For 25 patients in the group rehabilitation was focused on manual therapy (TM) while 20 patients were rehabilitated on the basis of stretching exercises (SE). As part of improvement progress assessment, the following were measured: upper limb mobility, chest expansion, Occiput to Wall Distance test, spinal angle, functional examination of the respiratory system, the Bath AS Disease Activity Index (BASDAI), Bath AS Functional Index (BASFI) and Pain Disability Index (PDI) questionnaires. Results: After rehabilitation, the Occiput to Wall Distance test also improved expansion of the chest. The BASDAI, BASFI, questionnaires and the VAS scale improved in both study groups. Among respiratory parameters, inspiratory and respiratory muscle strength further increased. Conclusions: Rehabilitation is a very effective form of improving the patient's functional status and should be an indispensable element of the patient's treatment. Both manual therapy and stretching exercises have been shown to be successful.

Background: Emotional disorders are common findings after a stroke episode. Despite evidence linking pain and sleep disorders to various post-stroke emotional disorders, their roles in the prevalence of post-stroke anger proneness (PSAP) and post-stroke emotional incontinence (PSEI) remain unclear. We investigated the influence of composite and different components of post-stroke pain (PSP) and post-stroke sleep disorders (PSSD) on PSAP and PSEI.Methods: A total of 185 community-dwelling stroke survivors attending two Nigerian tertiary health facilities had their cross-sectional data on PSAP, PSEI, PSP, and PSSD evaluated through validated instruments and structured interviews. Data on potential cofounding variables were also assessed. Results: The rates of PSSD, PSP, PSAP and PSEI among Nigerian stroke survivors were 36.8%, 63.3%, 23.2%, and 44.9%, respectively. The results of logistic regression models showed that composite PSP was associated with PSEI ((adjusted odd ratio (aOR): 0.492; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.251-0.965). While assessing the different components of PSSD and PSP, the results showed that sleep disturbances (aOR: 1.855; 95% CI: 1.096-3.140) and post-stroke headache (aOR: 0.364: 95% CI: 0.153-0.864) were associated with PSEI. In addition, post-stroke headache as a domain of PSP was associated with PSAP (aOR: 0.052; 95% CI: 0.011-0.238).Conclusion: There is high prevalence of PSSD, PSP, PSAP and PSEI among Nigerian stroke survivors. Post-stroke headache is associated with both PSAP and PSEI, while sleep disturbances is associated with PSEI. Post-stroke headache and sleep disturbances are potential targets for interventions in patients with stroke to lessen the burden of PSAP and PSEI.
