Objective. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is women's most common reproductive disorder in their childbearing years, with an estimated prevalence of 5–10%. In women with PCOS, the chance of having problems, including infertility, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes, increases significantly. The role of ultrasound in diagnosing PCOS is clear. In this study, we aimed to assess the diagnostic value of multiple ultrasound manifestations of PCOS in detecting infertility in patients with PCOS. Materials and Methods. The study enrolled 246 patients with PCOS, of whom 171 (69%) had infertility and 75 (30%) were fertile. Patients underwent ultrasonography between Days 3 and 7 of the menstrual cycle to assess ovarian volume, total follicle count, follicle distribution pattern (peripherally distributed versus randomly

Objective. Tubal pathology accounts for a third of infertility cases of which about 80 percent affects the ampulla and distal tube and 10 - 25 percent the proximal tube. Infertile patients with tubal pathology have two options for treatment, in vitro fertilization or tubal reconstructive microsurgery. The present study aims to perform a literature review to give a comprehensive knowledge of the role of salpingoscopy/ falloposcopy in the assessment of tubal pathology in infertile couples and its impact on clinical practice. Materials and Methods. A review of various articles on the technique of salpingoscopy/ falloposcopy and its clinical use in infertile

Objective. To compare the ICSI cycle outcomes in PPOS Vs. conventional GnRh antagonist protocol. Patients and Methods. In this retrospective cohort study, 200 patients who were administrated gonadotropins for ovarian stimulation from the second or the third day of menstruation cycle were included in this study. When the follicular diameter reached 13-14 mm, GnRH antagonist was started in the group A, while in the group B,10 mg norethisterone acetate was taken daily orally. The retrieved oocytes were fertilized in vitro by intracytoplasmic sperm. Both groups underwent freeze-all and delayed embryo transfer. The primary outcome is the clinical pregnancy rate. The secondary outcomes included the duration, dosage & form of ovarian stimulation, the number & quality of oocytes retrieved which

Obesity and anemia are major problems all over the world; pregnancies often suffer from these medical conditions. Obesity is associated with an increased risk of iron deficiency associated with the activation of inflammatory markers and their influence on iron regulatory pathways. All of the pregnant obese women have a mild inflammatory response, which later leads to increased hepcidin levels, thereby influencing iron metabolism. The purpose of this review was to summarize recent findings that have reported the measuring of markers of iron metabolism and inflammatory in pregestationally obese pregnancies in the development of anemia. This review examines obesity-related activation of inflammatory mediators as a potential primary cause

Electronic intrapartum foetal monitoring (also known as cardiotocography, CTG) is the standard technique to assess the foetal well-being during labour. In the last decade, several researchers have provided useful information regarding the pathophysiology of foetal heart rate (FHR) decelerations, the main CTG feature to cause interpretation disagreement; recent evidence summarized in this paper set new grounds to reconceptualize the “classical” aetiology of intrapartum foetal hypoxia and FHR decelerations. Each deceleration is generated from hypoxia
