Epidemiological research has found a wide range of environmental and dietary risk factors for different cancers nowadays. The four most prevalent cancers— breast, colorectal, lung, and prostate—have all been linked to lifestyle factors in affluent nations. Flavonoids are a significant group of phenolic plant compounds made up of derivatives of 2-phenyl-benzopyrone. Flavonoids, foods such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, bark, roots, stems, flowers, tea, and wine include a group of chemical compounds with different phenolic structures. There are currently efforts being made to separate the purported flavonoids from the other components because these natural chemicals have numerous beneficial health effects. The various sources of flavonoids, their subclasses, and how they aid in the prevention of breast cancer will be outlined in this review article.

This study presents a comprehensive investigation of the medicinal attributes of the ethanolic extract obtained from Azadirachta indica (A. indica) leaves collected from the Jamia Salafiya Pharmacy College campus in Malappuram District, Kerala, South India. The plant was meticulously identified by Dr. Samuel Thavamni B, a plant pharmacognosy specialist. The ethanolic extraction process was performed using the Soxhlet method. Phytochemical analysis was performed using liquid chromatography-LC-MS (liquid chromatography-mass and Mass spectroscopy). The in vitro antioxidant, MTT ((3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-Diphenyltetrazolium Bromide) assay, Apoptosis, and Immunomodulatory activity of ethanolic A. indica were evaluated. The extraction resulted in a semi-solid, dark-coloured extract with a yield of 8.67%. Phytochemical analysis using LC-MS identified key constituents such as octadecanoic acid, tetradecanoic acid, caryophyllene, 1,4-Eicosadiene, and triacontanoic acid, methyl ester, known for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. In vitro antioxidant assays revealed a concentration-dependent inhibitory effect, with the A. indica ethanolic extract demonstrating substantial antioxidant capacity (77.81% at 100 µg), comparable to that of ascorbic acid (97.22%). However, the MTT assay indicated a concentration-dependent decrease in cell viability, emphasizing the need for caution owing to potential cytotoxic effects. Acridine orange/ethidium bromide staining provided insights into the induction of apoptosis in MCF-7 cells, highlighting the beneficial effects of the extract on cellular morphology. The scratch wound healing assay suggested the potential of the extract to promote fibroblast migration, implicating its role in enhancing wound healing. Immunomodulatory activity assessment revealed concentration-dependent modulation of immune responses, with the extract demonstrating a notable immunomodulatory effect of 77.81% at 100 µg. These findings shed light on the medicinal potential of A. indica, emphasizing the need for further research to elucidate the underlying mechanisms. The diverse chemical composition and multifaceted effects of the extract, from antioxidant and cytotoxic activities to immunomodulation and wound healing promotion, underscore its significance in pharmaceuticals and herbal remedies.

A differential pattern of peroxidase (E.C. 1.1.11.7) has been observed in reciprocal F1 hybrids of Eucalyptus (FRI-4 and FRI-5) produced using parental combination of E. tereticornis and E. camaldulensis. The hybrids were characterized for the qualitative, kinetic parameters (total and specific activity, units, Km and Vmax) and partial purification of peroxidase. The qualitative study showed the presence of high molecular weight peroxidase isoforms i.e. 260 KD, 250 KD and 110KD bands. A strong maternal inheritance was observed for 260 KD loci in FRI-5. Kinetic characterization of peroxidase revealed that F1 genotypes had efficient peroxidase system over their parental combination resulting in 8 -10 times more heterotic vigour. The FRI-5 genotypes were found to be having efficient peroxidase system with lowest Km values (0.12mM-0.17mM) and higher Vmax values ranging from 0.07-0.14mM min-1mg prot-1. The study revealed the role of maternal inheritance and was found that better genotypes are produced when superior parents are used as seed parent. The results suggest the efficient use of peroxidase marker for the identification of the better genotypes in forest tree species.

Comparisons conceptualize the body of human knowledge about the world and its fragments, reflect the traits of people's mentalities, and aid in the generational transmission of national standards and stereotypes. The study of comparisons has been the subject of numerous works, but none of them addressed comparisons from a linguocultural or comparative perspective. Studying figurative comparisons between English and Uzbek from the perspective of how language and culture interact, as well as how well speakers of both languages are able to exchange cultural information and reflect social phenomena, seems pertinent. It is important to remember that English and Uzbek comparisons do not always have the same foundation.

The current research involves the implementation of half diallel crosses between ten genotypes of bread wheat in 2018-2019. The parents and their F1 generation, excluding reciprocals, were then cultivated in the 2019-2020 growing season at the agriculture research farm, School of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering, IFTM University, Lodhipur Rajput, Moradabad (U.P.) and R.B. (PG) College, Mudi, Agra, using a randomized complete block design with three replications. Knowledge of type of gene action controlling target traits and genetic behaviour is a basic principle for designing an appropriate breeding procedure for the purpose of genetic improvement. Hence, the success of any selection or hybridization breeding program for developing varieties depends on precise estimates of genetic variation components for traits of interest which may be additive, dominant and non-allelic interaction effects. Significant genotype means squares and its components (parents and crosses) were obtained for all traits in both locations. Genetic components analysis found that additive (D) and Dominance (H1) was significant in all the traits. The value of mean degree of dominance was greater than additive, indicating availability of over dominance for all the traits. The present investigation revealed that grain yield was positively correlated with days to maturity, plant height, number of effective tillers per plant spike length, number of spikelets per spike, days to 50% heading and yield (q ha-1). Hence, more importance should be given to these traits while exercising selection. Based on the correlation and path studies it was reported that days to ear head emergence, days to maturity, plant height, number of effective tillers per plant, number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike, grain yield per plant and 1000 grain weight could be used as important selection traits in order of merit to improve productivity during designing a suitable breeding programme in wheat.
