Neglecting the nurses’ quality of worklife can lead to their turnover. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between nurses’ quality of worklife and their intention to leave work in public hospitals in Herat, Afghanistan. Methods: This was a descriptive-analytical study, investigating nurses’ quality of worklife and their turnover intention in public hospitals. We used census method, and all 258 respondents completed the standardized questionnaire on quality of worklife. Nurses' turnover intention was also measured by using an item. Meanwhile, we used descriptive statistics to present demographic variables. Meanwhile, Mann-Whitney test, Chi-square, and Spearman correlation coefficient were used to determine relationships between the study analytic variables. In this study, SPSS version 26 was used. Results: The quality of worklife and the intention to leave was at an average level. No relationship was found between turnover intention and demographic variables (p>0.05). Results from the Spearman correlation coefficient demonstrate a significant inverse relationship between turnover intention and some aspects of the quality of worklife including participation and involvement, job security, wages and salaries, career honor, and job stress. In other words, an increase in any of the aforementioned aspects results in a decline in intention to leave (P<0.05). The relationship between intention to leave and quality of worklife was inverse and significant (r=0.279, P=0.001). Conclusion: Participatory management in decision-making, paying attention to salaries and benefits, and assuring nurses that they will not lose their job in the event of any socio-economic change can increase job satisfaction, and reduce their intention to leave work.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between performance appraisal and organizational entrepreneurial orientation in selected employees of Health Deputy at Iran University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This descriptive-analytical and sectional study was conducted in 2020. The sample consisted of 102 employees with a score of last year's performance evaluation. The annual performance evaluation score and a standard questionnaire were used to assess the performance of employees and their organizational entrepreneurial orientation, respectively. Data analysis was performed using SPSS statistical software version 25. Results: The organizational entrepreneurial orientation was reported as moderate. The highest and lowest mean scores were related to the autonomy and competitive aggressiveness dimensions, respectively. Although there was a significant and negative relationship between performance and risk-taking, competitive aggressiveness and innovativeness variables, no significant relationship was found between proactive ness and autonomy variables. Conclusion: The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between performance appraisal and the organizational entrepreneurial orientation. It seems that this inverse relationship is due to the lack of necessary conditions for the tendency toward organizational entrepreneurship and also ignoring entrepreneurship in the axes and indicators of employee performance evaluation. Corresponding Author: Roya Aleemran e-mail addresses: Aleemran@iaut.ac.ir Introduction: The central bank of Iran has been under sanction since 2012. According to the debates, these sanctions do not include purchasing medical supplies and equipment. This paper is checking if central bank’s sanction is effective on health of ordinary people in the long-run from an empirical view. Methods: The present applied study was a descriptive, analytical, and annual longitudinal one conducted between 1980 and 2017. The study population included the whole population of Iran. The dependent variable was the number of annual death, and the independent variable was the dummy variable of sanction. Other control parameters including the growth of age dependency ratio, government expenditure, imports, DPT vaccination, Exports and population density were included in the model. Data analysis was performed using Auto-regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model by the Eveiws-10 software. Results: the findings showed that in the long run, the sanctions imposed on the central bank, growth of age dependency ratio, government expenditure, and imports increased mortality. Vaccination decreased mortality, while exports and population density did not have any effect on mortality and health. Conclusion: Based on these findings, the best strategies for reducing the mortality (promoting health status) in the long run are as follows: removing sanctions or reducing its effects, taking good social and population policies, reducing age dependency ratio, using financial resources for government expenditure and imports efficiently, and choosing proper public health policies such as vaccination. Corresponding Author: Behrouz Moradhasel e-mail addresses: bzmoradhasel@gmail.com Introduction: One of the main concerns of health system managers has always been to control and reduce health care costs. Optimal use of health center resources to maintain and improve services requires cost analysis and application of the results obtained in the process of supply and consumption of required items. The purpose of this study was to extract a suitable model for managing the costs of medical supplies in health centers. Methods: This is an applied research and the used descriptive research method was cross-sectional. The annual purchase cost of medical supplies of health centers of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences was extracted from the hospital information system and after processing, the results were analyzed using the experiences of researchers and the criteria for medical equipment of the country. The K-means algorithm in the Rapidminer software (version 9.6) environment was used for the data clustering. Results: The annual purchase costs of medical supplies were clustered into nine categories based on the unit and total purchase price using the K-means, and then based on the analysis of each category, cost management strategies such as price reduction through centralized purchasing, concluding contracts with authorized suppliers, careful monitoring and control of consumption, and concluding a memorandum of understanding with other medical centers for the exchange of surplus or required goods were presented. Conclusion: Cost analysis of medical supplies based on price, purchase, and consumption in a given period of time using clustering algorithm provides valuable information for resources and expenditures management of the health system managers and leads to maintaining, continuing, and improving the level of services of health centers.
