Effect of the electoral system on women's representation: Evidence from national elections of Nepal 选举制度对妇女代表权的影响:尼泊尔全国选举的证据

The purpose of this article is to examine the impact of the electoral system on women's representation in Nepalese elections. The article utilizes a questionnaire-based approach to gather data on women's representation in Nepalese elections. The questionnaire is distributed to individuals from diverse backgrounds and aims to assess the influence of the electoral system on women's success in elections. The obtained data is analyzed to determine the correlation between the electoral system and women's representation. The study reveals that the use of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system in the initial six elections resulted in limited success for women candidates. The proportional representation (PR) system, employed in the last three elections, led to a significant increase in women's representation. In the CA elections of 2008 and 2013, over 48 percent of women were elected through the PR system. Furthermore, in the 2017 House of Representatives (HoR) elections, more than 76 percent of female candidates emerged victorious. These findings emphasize the crucial role that the electoral system plays in promoting women's representation. This underscores the importance of selecting an electoral system that promotes gender equality and facilitates increased women's representation. The findings of this study have practical implications for electoral reforms in Nepal. Policymakers and electoral authorities should consider the impact of the electoral system on gender equality and design mechanisms to promote women's participation and success in politics. By implementing a more women-friendly electoral system, Nepal can strive towards achieving greater gender parity and inclusivity in its political landscape.

Gender perspective on the determinants of health outcomes in selected Southern African countries 从性别角度看选定的南部非洲国家卫生成果的决定因素

Recurring global health concerns such as the COVID-19 pandemic served as perfect examples of the "health is wealth" discussion and contributed to a growing understanding of the strong relationships between multiple risks to global socioeconomic success and poor health. Another development is the inclusion of gender-specific health goals   in the SDGs which have highlighted the critical role of    women’s health   in attaining global health and ending the cycle of poverty. This study aims at examining factors influencing women's health in two Southern African countries namely South Africa and Eswatini affected by a significant burden of disease. The regression outcomes show that female economic participation, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), female education, teenage pregnancy, income and urbanization have varying effects on female health outcomes in both countries using gender specific socioeconomic factors within the framework of Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL). This research engages policy makers and strategists in the health sector on the need to address gender disparities in formulating health policies. Moreover, policies and strategies aimed at fostering better health outcomes by solving national priority health challenges in particular the HIV/AIDS epidemic and health-risk behaviours should be prioritized.

The influence of ethnic family and intercultural communication on women’s perceptions of higher education 民族家庭和跨文化交流对女性高等教育观念的影响

In Betawi families, not all daughters are provided with the opportunity to pursue higher education. The prevailing societal stigma suggests that women do not require higher education due to the presumption that their primary focus should be on domestic responsibilities. This research aims to comprehend and explore the influence of the communicative role of the Betawi ethnic family on the attitudes of female offspring towards pursuing higher education. The participants of this study are 254 females who are presently enrolled in or have completed their education at higher education institutions. They primarily reside in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi. The analysis is conducted through Spearman-Rank analysis. The results indicate a strong correlation between family communication and the attitudes of female offspring towards pursuing higher education. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the parental capacity to appreciate and respect a child’s decisions, particularly in selecting majors and schools, significantly influences their interest in pursuing higher education. However, the researcher acknowledges several limitations of this study, especially pertaining to the sample size utilized. Hence, future research should utilize more extensive methodologies and measures to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the motives and attitudes of female descendants towards pursuing higher education. Moreover, it is anticipated that future researchers will be able to devise effective communication strategies involving stakeholders, such as the government and educational institutions, to implement inclusive programs regardless of ethnicity, race, and religion.

Factors affecting the choice of Rohto Vietnam company’s acnes product line 影响选择越南 Rohto 公司痤疮产品系列的因素

The objective of this study is to identify the various elements that influence the decision-making process in selecting the acne product line offered by Rohto Vietnam Company  specifically within the context of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. A representative sample consisting of 265 clients who have used acnes’ facial care and acne prevention products within Ho Chi Minh City was gathered and subjected to analysis. This study makes a substantial contribution by investigating the factors that influence consumers' choices for Rohto Vietnam's Acnes product line in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.  The results underscore the importance of various factors  including safety, aesthetics, brand reputation, pricing, geographical proximity, promotional efforts  and social impact  in influencing consumer decision-making. Understanding these factors and the implications they carry will help Rohto Vietnam develop targeted marketing strategies to effectively position and support the acne product line which will eventually lead to the attraction and retention of a loyal customer base.  The company should place a high level of importance on product safety, allocate resources towards enhancing product aesthetics, establish a robust brand image, carefully evaluate pricing strategies  and execute impactful marketing and promotional initiatives. These actions are necessary to meet consumer expectations and strengthen their competitive advantage within the skincare industry.

Leadership style and employee performance in China’s fast moving consumer goods industry 中国快速消费品行业的领导风格与员工绩效

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of various leadership styles on employee performance in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry in China. The unexpected global spread of the coronavirus pandemic and its complicated issues have created a substantial amount of uncertainty in consumer demand worldwide which has motivated this research and highlighted the crucial role that the FMCG industry's marketing relationship plays in determining enterprise profit. There is a growing concern among enterprise managers, academics and policymakers about employee performance and its overarching impact on the organization. The study is underpinned by social exchange theory and employs a cross-sectional design. An online survey was conducted with 384 employees from the FMCG industry to measure the impact of three independent variables: authentic leadership style, servant leadership style   and ethical leadership style. The findings reveal that authentic, servant and ethical leadership all significantly affect employee performance in the Chinese FMCG industry. Among these, ethical leadership is found to have the extreme effect. The implications of this study are of practical relevance to FMCG companies. FMCG companies can potentially navigate through the uncertainty in global consumer demand more effectively by reconfiguring their leadership styles to enhance employee performance. The study provides insights that can be used by FMCG companies to increase employee performance   which is directly linked to enterprise profit.

The factors influencing stress among nursing home staff: A cross-sectional study to develop stress measurement scale 影响疗养院员工压力的因素:为制定压力测量量表而进行的横断面研究

This study aims to identify factors influencing job stress among nursing home staff in Malaysia. Understanding the job stress among nursing home staff is crucial to improving the quality of health care provided by staff in nursing homes. Despite studies of sources and levels of stress among nursing home professionals, effective ways to eliminate stressors among the nursing home staff in Malaysia are still under research. The role of social support as a mediator in the relationship between time pressure, role conflict, workload, job autonomy, and job stress in a nursing home was also examined to extend the underpinning theory. This study used a cross-sectional survey to collect data from the respondents to meet the research objective. The Smart Partial Least Squares (PLS) software tests the research model's hypotheses. The probability technique using cluster random sampling was employed to gather data for this study, which included 150 nursing home staff in Malaysia. The reliability and validity metrics were first assessed for the scale development process to guarantee internal consistency. The result revealed that the reliability and validity of each item used were established for the Nursing Home Staff Stress Measurement Scale. This study has indicated that time pressure and role conflict negatively influence social support. Job autonomy positively influenced job stress, while social support negatively influenced job stress.

The probability technique using cluster random sampling was employed to gather data for this study, which included 150 nursing home staff in Malaysia. The reliability and validity metrics were first assessed for the scale development process to guarantee internal consistency. The result revealed that the reliability and validity of each item used were established for the Nursing Home Staff Stress Measurement Scale. This study has indicated that time pressure and role conflict negatively influence social support. Socio-demographic parameters of drug addiction in the southern cross river, Nigeria 尼日利亚南部跨河地区吸毒成瘾的社会人口参数

Drug addiction has become a serious public health challenge in Nigeria today, and there is an urgent need to address this problem. In this study, we investigated the impact of some socio-demographic factors on drug addiction in the southern district of Cross River State, Nigeria. During the study, a questionnaire survey with 381 respondents who were sampled from the study region was conducted. The results showed that sex, peer influence, occupational status, social environment, and individual level of education strongly influenced drug addiction. About 93% (354) of the respondents agreed that men were more addicted to hard drugs than women, but 62.5% of them considered that there was no difference between men and women as to who took more variety of drugs. Three hundred and seventeen respondents agreed that younger people abuse drugs more than older ones, and 83.2% of them were certain that drug abuse was more prevalent among secondary school students. 61.4% responded that young addicts influence children into addiction. The majority of the surveyed population, specifically 90%, identified unemployment as a significant factor contributing to drug addiction. Additionally, 76% of the respondents said that illiteracy is associated with an increase in drug misuse, as the number of addicts without education surpassed those with education. Many of the addicts suffered from the double stigma of low socioeconomic status and drug dependency. It was determined that a reduction in poverty and unemployment, the provision of good-quality childcare, support for social capital, and effective early intervention programs, such as parental support in the early years of a child's life, would greatly minimize addiction.

The objective of this research is to explore the relationship between digital financial literacy (DFL) and digital financial inclusion (DFI) while considering gender differences. The study employed convenience sampling and collected primary data through a questionnaire. The analysis involved a multi-group assessment to examine how DFL influences DFI in distinct gender categories. The results reveal a noteworthy association between DFL and DFI among both females and males. Interestingly, the impact of DFL on DFI appears to be more pronounced within the female group, suggesting that enhancing digital financial literacy can be particularly beneficial for women's financial inclusion. However, it is essential to note that the disparity in the effect of DFL on DFI between the two gender groups does not reach statistical significance. This finding underscores the overall significance of DFL in advancing digital financial inclusion across all genders. These results have substantial implications for policymakers and financial institutions. The study underscores the importance of promoting digital financial literacy to improve digital financial inclusion. While the influence of DFL seems slightly stronger for females, addressing digital financial literacy comprehensively for all genders remains vital in the pursuit of inclusive financial systems. By expanding digital financial literacy initiatives and making them accessible to diverse populations, policymakers and financial institutions can contribute to more equitable financial inclusion. Factors that affect voluntary turnover among millennials in the professional services industry of Kuala Lumpur 影响吉隆坡专业服务行业千禧一代自愿离职的因素

The purpose of this research is to examine the factors that affect voluntary turnover among millennials in the professional services industry in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. An online survey using convenience sampling was used, of which a total of 120 samples were successfully collected from millennials working or having worked in the professional services industry and residing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Structural equation modelling was employed in the analysis part to suggest a working turnover model. Results of the analysis showed that career development showed little significance with voluntary turnover; work-life integration showed a moderate relationship with voluntary turnover, while stress has a strong relationship with voluntary turnover. On the other hand, working culture has no significant effect on the dependent variable. It is essential to emphasize that the findings of this research article will most significantly contribute to the sector of the economy that is concerned with professional services. In the context of forthcoming research, it is necessary to broaden the scope of past studies that have focused on the disparities across different generations of workers about their inclination to change employment willingly. It is crucial to take good care of the employees' physical and mental health. Employers may want to think about setting up an employee assistance programme ("EAP") that includes a hotline that anyone can call to speak with an outside counsellor who is available around the clock. Further investigation can be done to determine the other variables that might influence millennials' voluntary turnover in Kuala Lumpur's professional services sector.

Employing technology inside and outside the classroom by special education teachers in primary schools 小学特殊教育教师在课堂内外使用技术的情况

The study aimed to identify the degree of employing educational technology inside and outside the classroom in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The study adopted the descriptive approach as the most appropriate to achieve the objectives. The study sample was selected randomly from special education teachers in Abha, Saudi Arabia. A total of 300 teachers, comprising both females and males, participated in the study. The study instrument was a questionnaire, which consisted in its initial form of 20 paragraphs and was distributed in two fields: using ICT in teaching inside and outside the classroom. The instrument was verified for validity and reliability. This study focused on identifying the levels of employment of educational technology in the educational process by special education teachers in several public schools in Abha City, Saudi Arabia. The findings showed medium use of information and communications technology (ICT) tools inside and outside the classroom. The study concluded that the degree of employing educational technology in the educational process in Abha schools from the teachers’ point of view was medium. The findings revealed that regardless of the teacher’s gender or academic qualification, they employ educational technology at nearly the same level. The study recommended training teachers on the use of technology in different educational situations to promote the educational experience for teachers and students.
