One of the most difficult decisions, especially in the societies of third world countries, is the decision to send a woman to work. This decision has many social and economic consequences, and the decision to send a woman to work is subject to a set of influencing factors that differ from one society to another. This research deals with the most important demographic factors influencing the decisions of women going out for work in Syrian society in general and the Province of Lattakia in particular. The research reached a set of results, the most important of them include: 1) There were no significant differences between the mean answers according to the family situation. There are fundamental differences between the people in the countryside and the city when deciding to go out to work. There is a preference for exit to work among city residents, where the average decision to exit to work reached 3.3, while this indicator reached 3.01 among rural residents. 2) There were no significant differences between the mean answers according to age.

Collaboration partnerships within higher education have been shown to enhance educational experiences for students and excite faculty who have the opportunity to innovative in their classrooms. Additional benefits for students include meaningful participation in group or team assignments that will prepare them for significant and successful participation as a member of a global workforce. While many organizations realize the advantages of a cross-disciplinary approach, business schools have been slow to adopt this mindset. Using the two business majors of supply chain management and computer information systems that are meeting a 21st century skillset of technology knowledge and information transfer, this paper addresses the need for collaboration in business schools and proposes a conceptual framework to assist business schools as they consider their collaboration efforts.

Electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) has become one of the influential sources of information in recent times. However, the emergence of digital media and the huge volume has made it difficult to evaluate its credibility. The main purpose of this article is to determine the factors influencing Electronic word of mouth source credibility for durable products in India. Further, this study examines to what extent business analytics tools are used in the research of eWOM source credibility. The findings suggest that the source trustworthiness and source expertise significantly contribute to eWOM source credibility which further influences the purchase intention, brand awareness, and consumer attitude. The real-time information is not getting captured through business analytics tools. The marketers and practitioners can benefit from this study by understanding phenomenon of the eWOM source credibility and influence on overall consumer behaviour. The study further suggests building an eWOM analytics system and provides future research directions.

While investing in a company, an investor investigates two perspectives: one is the financial stability of the company and other is the strategies adopted by the company. The purpose of this study is to find out what investors and non-investors think about the buy-back of shares and in which company investors and non-investors would like to invest, whether in the company which is financially stable or in the company which adopts various strategies and is not that financially stable. This article describes about which variables investors and non-investors look into at the time of the buy-back of shares. It was found from this research article that people who invest in shares are more concerned about the financial stability of the company and the non-investors look more into the strategies that the company adopts. Further, this article tells that the company who is financially stable should only do buy-back as most of the time companies who have a huge debt on them do become successful after share buy-back.

Our current global economy is based on the linear flow of material and energy at a speed faster than earth can regenerate its services. A logical answer is reversing this into a circular economy, implemented through Circular Business Models (CBM). While cities count for the majority of current and future inhabitants, consumption and negative externalities people presume the CE should play an important role in coping with its challenges. To maintain urban livability, there is another emerging city strategy. That is to integrate technology in the urban domain and make a city “smart.” This development questions how digitization can also leverage CBM in the smart city area. However, little research is known on this topic. This article therefore studies the relationship between the circular economy and a circular smart city by exploring digital technology as a common variable. The authors first conceptualize the possibilities to enhance CBM by digital technology and then apply concept mapping to determine if and which CBM have greatest possibility to flourish in a circular smart city context.

Employability skills are identified as one of the valuable assets for an individual to perform effectively in their job. This article extricates an encyclopedic list of Employability Skills needed in the health care industry, represented through a pragmatic model termed as The Whirl of Prowess. This conceptual framework was developed using a set of nine core skills extracted from research papers and focus group interviews conducted on 100 respondents. These skills form the core of model along with 22 attributes, forming the periphery. This will assist an organization to set some benchmarks, on the basis of which employees are evaluated demonstrating proficiency/ sufficiency/ deficiency levels. This model would help organizations to facilitate tailored training programs for their employees. The Whirl of Prowess would act as a skill meter available to organizations to evaluate and analyze the individual skills for various HRM practices like recruitment, career-development, performance management and others.

The overall quality of an emergency department (ED) can be measured by its ability to provide fast, efficient yet high-quality medical treatments to its patients. The objective of the present study was to derive a common set of key indicators that could be used to assess the quality of the performance of EDs. A modified Delphi process was employed to achieve this. This consisted of a detailed literature review followed by a three-round expert panel interaction, which was used to reduce and refine the list of indicators. The members of the panel comprised ED physicians, ED nurses and hospital and ED administrators drawn from six EDs. This process yielded 47 essential performance indicators and 12 recommended indicators. The performance indicators were classified into 7 main groups according to their characteristics. The chosen indicators comprise a core set that will be used in an ongoing study on a representative sample of EDs.

In recent years, academic digital libraries have become a very important source of information. Academic digital libraries provide a rich collection in order to satisfy user need for information. The augmentation of user population and the volume of new publications causes many challenges to librarians in the collection development process and determining user needs of information is the fundamental challenge that librarians face. This article presents a demand-driven collection development decision support system based on the PROMETHEE II method. The DSS supports the librarians to make decisions in the collection development process to provide a rich collection that meets the users' needs. The DSS evaluates and determines a set of electronic resources for purchase, subscription, contract reviewing or cancelation. The decision support system extracts users' queries from log files to determine user preferences. Then, the revised Simos' procedure is used to derive the criteria weights. Finally, the authors applied the PROMETHEE II method to evaluate and rank the electronic resources.
