The results concerning the project of compact two-stream superheterodyne free electron lasers, which can be constructed on the basis of EH-accelerator, are represented. A specific characteristic of the considered system is the source of intensive relativistic electron beam is constructed on the basis of a two-beam EH-accelerator. The design-scheme of the compact EH-accelerator is proposed and analyzed. It is shown that main merit of studied devices is their potential compactness.

A new method for computation of electromagnetic wave propagation over irregular terrain is proposed. The method combines the physical optic and parabolic equation methods. This enables the calculation of cases where the physical optics and the parabolic equation are not applicable (low altitude propagation and directions that are more than approximately 10/spl deg/, respectively).

The Fourier transform method is applied so as to determine the excitation coefficients and the resultant pattern for a broadside discrete element array whose array factor will closely approximate the symmetrical sectoral pattern with 90/spl deg/ aperture. The influence that the radiation pattern of a single element of the array has on the resultant radiation characteristic is considered analytically by approximation of a single radiation pattern by the parabolic function. Experimental verification of the theoretical results is also described for the case of a linear array of nine elements of rectangular aperture coupled microstrip antennas.

A radial guide field matching method (RGFMM) is used to calculate the self and mutual impedances of monopole antennas in free space. The effect of radial guide height for RGFMM is presented. Comparison between input impedance values obtained using the radial guide field matching method and the free space method of moments (FSMoM) shows good agreement when a sufficiently large height is assumed for the radial guide in the RGFMM calculations.

A microwave autodyne Gunn oscillator has been presented The oscillator may be used as a simple detector of EPR signal for irradiation-food dosimeter. The idea of EPR method of measurement of radiation dose has been described A low-cost, simple EPR spectrometer for estimation of dose of food irradiation can be built on the basis of microwave autodyne Gunn oscillator. The re-entrant resonator Gunn oscillator has been proposed as an attractive solution of autodyne circuit. The design expressions and the oscillator parameters have been given and one particular oscillator elaborated.

In this contribution, starting from power balance considerations, conditions for maximum efficiency in microwave power amplifiers are derived together with their practical implementation and limitations. Moreover, the influence of harmonic generation at the amplifying device input will be discussed, leading to guidelines for harmonic tuning effective implementation. Experimental tests are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.

The article contains the brief characteristics of a continuous wave magnetron, which is a high-power microwave tube generating electromagnetic waves with a frequency of 915 MHz. Such tubes are used primarily in industrial heating processes. Shorter process times and high efficiency of electricity/heat conversion are among the most significant advantages of microwave heating equipment.

A general approach to solve inverse problems in polarimetric radar remote sensing is considered. Starting from the general statement of ill-posed problems in the mathematical sense the special case of inverse scattering problems in polarimetric radar is formulated. Regularization methods to handle inverse problems are described and an illustration leading to an inverse classification problem for determination of the soil humidity using radar measurements is given.

The paper presents output results of 3G network simulation software in the area of optimal site location as well as finding optimal values of antenna tilt. The loss of capacity is shown for a wide range of tills and different antenna directions. Non-uniform distribution of base stations has also been included in the simulation scenarios influencing the system's performance. All of the described parameters are especially significant to CDMA systems network planning.

The results of experimental research of the statistical parameters of wind speed and spectrum portraits of background returns from snow clouds (BRSC) are quoted. It is supposed to use the received results for the development of a more complicated (in comparison with the existing ones) automatic compensator of background returns from volume-distributed reflectors.
