Patterns of frequency, biodiversity and seasonality of fungi-like organisms and true zoosporic fungi in relationship with some abiotic factors of two water bodies exposed to various effluents at Assiut Governorate (Upper Egypt) were investigated. Thirty-four species related to ten genera were isolated from the El-Zinnar irrigation canal and the El-Ibrahimia canal, which receive treated sewage water and the industrial effluents of a factory for oils and detergents, respectively, using the baiting technique during four seasons (from winter 2017 to autumn 2018). The highest fungal diversity was recorded during winter, followed by autumn and spring, whereas summer was the lowest in species diversity. Achlya, Dictyuchus, Allomyces and Pythium were the prevalent genera, whereas Brevilegnia and Pythiopsis were the least frequent ones. Some fungal taxa were present throughout the year while others were highly restricted, occurring in only one season. The species composition and community structure of the heterotrophic straminipiles and true zoosporic fungi varied in spatial distribution and exhibited seasonal variations, probably influenced by particular abiotic water characteristics, sampling site and season. Sites which directly receive either treated sewage water or industrial effluents were the poorest in straminipiles and true zoosporic fungi, and can be regarded as stressful environments where some abiotic parameters were excessive. Seasonality and biodiversity of the surveyed organisms are mainly dependent on water temperature, conductivity, most of the determined cations and anions, but pH did not exhibit any considerable impact. It is assumed that the existence of some fungal taxa at polluted sites may have a potential source of fungi beneficial for bioremediation and xenobiotic transformation.

Records of 25 species of lichenicolous fungi from Ternopil oblast (Ukraine) are provided. Among them, Dacampia cyrtellae, Didymocyrtis slaptonensis, Epithamnolia xanthoriae, Lichenotubeufia heterodermiae, Phoma peltigerae, Tremella caloplacae, Trichoconis physciicola, Unguiculariopsis lucaniae, Xenonectriella physciacearum, and X. zimmermanni are reported for the first time for Ukraine. Lichenotubeufia is a new genus to Ukraine. Descriptions, localities, ecology and distribution of the recorded species are given.

The paper reports on the occurrence of Phaeoclavulina clavarioides and P. roellinii in dry grasslands of rock steppes in the Czech Republic. Occurrence in this habitat is characteristic of both species, formerly considered members of the genus Ramaria, and they are apparently the only known representatives within the Gomphales with this ecology in Central Europe. The authors present macroand microscopic descriptions and provide rDNA barcode sequence data for both species based on material collected at localities in Bohemia.

Effect of seventeen pesticides on mycelial growth of Akanthomyces, Beauveria, Cordyceps and Purpureocillium strains. 17种农药对赤花菌、白僵菌、冬虫夏草和Purpureocillium菌株菌丝生长的影响。

The effect of fungicides, herbicides and insecticides on mycelial growth of entomopathogenic fungi Akanthomyces muscarius, Beauveria bassiana, Cordyceps fumosorosea and Purpureocillium lilacinum were tested under laboratory conditions. Fungicides containing the active ingredients carboxin & thiram, dimethomorph & mancozeb, mancozeb & metalaxyl-M, boscalid & pyraclostrobin, mancozeb, metalaxyl-M & fludioxonil and herbicides with active ingredients pendimethalin, pethoxamid, chlorotoluron and pendimethalin & imazamox statistically significantly inhibited the mycelial growth of all tested fungi (20.4–100% and 14.9–100% inhibition). Insecticides did not significantly inhibit the mycelial growth of Akanthomyces and Purpureocillium strains but active ingredients tau-fluvalinate, pirimicarb and acetamiprid inhibited the mycelial growth of Beauveria strains (22.6–30% inhibition). The mycelial growth of Cordyceps strains was faster in the presence of insecticides than in controls.

Athelidium Oberw. is a small genus of corticioid fungi originally created to accommodate the sole species Xenasma aurantiacum M.P. Christ. Athelidium aurantiacum (M.P. Christ.) Oberw. is characterised by among others the orangeyellow colour of the hymenial surface, clampless septa, cylindrical to clavate, slightly constricted basidia, and thin-walled, smooth, inamyloid spores (Eriksson & Ryvarden 1973, Bernicchia & Gorjón 2010). Comparison of the occurrence of fungi causing postharvest diseases of apples grown in organic and integrated production systems in orchards in the Czech Republic. 捷克共和国果园有机和综合生产系统中种植的苹果采后病害真菌发生情况的比较。

During the years 2013–2015, the occurrence of fungi causing postharvest diseases of apples was evaluated in three apple orchards with integrated and organic production systems in the Czech Republic. The postharvest disease fungi were more frequently recorded in fruits from organically cultivated apple trees (average 29.97%) than those from integrated production (17.67%). This difference is statistically significant. Neofabraea, Penicillium, Alternaria and a sterile grey mycelium were the most frequently recorded taxa in apples grown in organic and integrated production systems. There were also significant differences in the frequency of occurrence of the most frequent fungal taxa between years. In 2013 and 2014, Neofabraea was the most frequently isolated genus in both cultivation systems, whereas in 2015, Penicillium was the most frequently recorded genus also in both cultivation systems, which was likely caused by the low precipitation in the 2015 growing season.

Patterns of Hericium coralloides growth with competitive fungi. 黑头翁与竞争真菌的生长模式。

Growth and morphological patterns of cultures were examined for two strains of Hericium coralloides during competitive colonisation of different nutrient media. The nutrient chemical composition of the medium was found to play an important role in the manifestation of antagonistic potencies of cultures. On the nutrient-poor Czapek medium with cellulose, radial growth of the monoculture was very slow. However, in triple confrontation cultures, the rate of substrate colonisation increased, and a positive effect on H. coralloides growth was observed. On all the examined media, Fomes fomentarius was consistently antagonistic to H. coralloides. The less suitable the medium for H. coralloides growth, the greater inhibitory effect was observed, but only in the combination of H. coralloides and F. fomentarius. This effect was observed for both strains of Hericium. Schizophyllum commune displayed both an antagonistic and a stimulating influence on H. coralloides, depending on the medium used and the strain of Hericium. The morphology of cultures H. coralloides 2332 and 2333 on media of different compositions in dual confrontation cultures was typical of the strains, but the colony growth was mostly uneven. The obtained results will be used to reintroduce native strains of Hericium coralloides into the ecosystem of Hutsulshchyna NNP. The interrelations between different fungi should be taken into account for successful colonisation of natural substrate.

Addendum to the typification of Butyriboletus regius. regius Butyriboletus的分型增补。

In our previous paper (Janda et al. 2019), Krombholz’s colour plate number 7 of Butyriboletus regius (Krombh.) D. Arora & J.L. Frank was designated a lectotype for the name of this species. From the technical point of view, the illustrations published in his work (Krombholz 1832) are hand-coloured lithographs (Stafleu & Cowan 1979, Šebek 1983). During our ongoing examination of the iconography of B. regius we have found some dissimilarities between particular copies of Krombholz’s work, regarding not only the “position, presence and absence of contents, indexes, errata” (Stafleu & Cowan 1979: 679), but also the colour rendering. The reason is that uncoloured lithoprints were handed over to different illustrators, i.e. craftsmen who coloured them (Šebek 1983). Consequently, plates slightly vary in overall colouring and some other details (and, interestingly, some copies contain mirror-reversed tables). For example, the colour of the pilei in plate 7, fig. 1 is darker in some copies (e.g. in the library of Department of Botany of the Moravian Museum in Brno, signature III126/18372), while it is lighter in others (e.g. in the library of the Mycological Department of the National Museum in Prague, signature 41A62).
