The relationships between selected log parameters and occurrence of Hericium erinaceus fruitbodies as well as its phenological aspects and distribution in Slovakia were studied for the first time. The research was conducted with two datasets. The first dataset is based on 15-year monitoring of 20 oak logs with the aim to relate H. erinaceus preference to selected log variables. The other one comprises records obtained from 63 different localities in Slovakia. The monitoring data confirmed continual fruitbody production on the same dead log and at the same position for three consecutive years. Furthermore, the fruitbodies were observed for five continual years in the same section of a living oak tree trunk. Of the studied log characteristics, H. erinaceus showed preference for smaller log sizes. Based on the second dataset, the main fructification period is dated from August to November, but fruitbodies can be found until February. Logs with fruitbodies were predominantly classified into the initial wood decay stage (Stage 2). The majority (92%) of the localities were situated in areas with a mean annual temperature above 6 °C.

Sixteen species of gasteromycetes were identified in 50-year old collections from Cuba, including five species new to this island. The species Calvatia cyathiformis, Clathrus columnatus, Clathrus crispus, Cyathus limbatus, Diplocystis wrightii, Rhizopogon sp., Scleroderma tenerum and Tulostoma floridanum had already been reported from Cuba, whereas Disciseda hyalothrix and Lycogalopsis solmsii represent new records for this country. Six species belong to the genus Geastrum, of which G. pectinatum agg., G. schweinitzii agg. and G. velutinum agg. were already known from Cuba, but three species, G. corollinum, G. kotlabae and G. trichiferum, are new to the Cuban mycobiota. Each species is provided with a brief description followed by taxonomic notes, and distribution.

On the identity of Lachnum winteri (Ascomycota, Helotiales). 关于冬季Lachnum winteri(子囊菌门,Helotiales)的身份。
Q3 Environmental Science Pub Date : 2018-12-10 DOI: 10.33585/cmy.70205
M. Šandová
Syntypes of Lachnum winteri (specimens of the exsiccatae collection Rehm, Ascomyceten, No. 113) deposited in the herbaria S, K and M were examined. The syntypes contain the same species with short-stalked apothecia possessing whitish, pale yellow to yellow, sparsely warted and apically attenuated hairs corresponding to the genus Albotricha. The species differs from A. albotestacea not only in the colour of the apothecia and frequent presence of whitish subicular hyphae at the base of the stalks, but also in the structure of the ectal excipulum. The thinner ectal excipulum cell walls are considered to be the main character distinguishing the species from A. albotestacea. The species is regarded to be a good member of the genus Albotricha, hence the new combination A. winteri is proposed. A lectotype is designated and a description, line drawing and photographs are presented. The concept of L. winteri introduced by J. Velenovský is also discussed.
还讨论了J.Velenovský引入的L.winteri的概念。

New taxonomic combinations in endophytic representatives of the genus Nigrograna.

Nigrograna (Ascomycota: Pleosporales), with the type species N. mackinnonii, has been considered a synonym of Biatriospora. Recently, it was shown that these two genera are distinct. In this study, four species earlier described in Biatriospora, i.e. B. antibiotica, B. carollii, B. peruviensis and B. yasuniana, which are phylogenetically related to N. mackinnonii, are combined in Nigrograna. Recently, three teams of authors published eight Nigrograna species almost simultaneously (2016–2017), thus some were not compared phylogenetically. A comparison of available sequences showed that all nine accepted species are unique. It can be concluded that Nigrograna is ecologically diverse, comprising species living as endophytes or saprobes of plants (some of them associated with other fungi living on those plants) as well as species living in marine or estuarine environments. Interestingly, all associations with vascular plants concern angiosperms.
Nigrograna(子囊菌门:Pleosporales)与模式种N.mackinnonii被认为是双孢菌的同义词。 在本研究中,在Nigrograna中结合了先前在双孢菌中描述的四个物种,即B.antibiotica、B.carolii、B.peruviensis和B.yasuniana,它们在系统发育上与N.mackinnonii有亲缘关系。

During long-term studies of microscopic fungi in 80 European caves and mine environments many cadavers and skeletons of animals inhabiting these environments and various animal visitors were found, some of them with visible microfungal growth. Direct isolation, the dilution plate method and various types of isolation media were used. The resulting spectrum of isolated fungi is presented and compared with records about their previous isolation. Compared to former studies focused mainly on bat mycobiota, this paper contributes to a wider knowledge of fungal assemblages colonising various animal bodies in underground environments. The most interesting findings include ascocarps of Acaulium caviariforme found abundant on mammals cadavers, while Botryosporium longibrachiatum isolated from frogs, Chaetocladium jonesiae from bats and Penicillium vulpinum from spiders represent the first records of these species from cadavers or skeletons.

Direct isolation, the dilution plate method and various types of isolation media were used. The resulting spectrum of isolated fungi is presented and compared with records about their previous isolation. Compared to former studies focused mainly on bat mycobiota, this paper contributes to a wider knowledge of fungal assemblages colonising various animal bodies in underground environments. The most interesting findings include ascocarps of Acaulium caviariforme found abundant on mammals cadavers, while Botryosporium longibrachiatum isolated from frogs, Chaetocladium jonesiae from bats and Penicillium vulpinum from spiders represent the first records of these species from cadavers or skeletons.","PeriodicalId":37529,"journal":{"name":"Czech Mycology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47074314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In autumn 2017, during a mycological survey in Radotínské údolí Nature Reserve (Bohemian Karst), interesting, small, gilled fruitbodies were found. Their conspicuous features were an overall whitish colour and strikingly acrid taste. The collections were particularly compared with two very similar taxa, Pseudobaeospora albidula Bas and P. calcarea Clémençon & Ayer, and identified as the first one. The aim of this paper is to publish authentic data on the macroand micromorphology of this species and to describe its ecological conditions at the locality.
