Deriving a dynamic model based on the coupled-mode and carrier rate equations, the effects of coupling coefficient and corrugation position on all-optical flip-flops (AOFF) we have analyzed in this paper. Also the self phase modulation (SPM) in the distributed coupling coefficient distributed feedback semiconductor optical amplifier (DCCDFB-SOA) has been implemented. Then the effects of SPM on the rise and fall times of the flip-flop DFB-SOA are investigated. It has been shown that the application of the optimized coupling coefficient and corrugation position improves the speed limitation in AOFF significantly. The transfer matrix method (TMM) time domain is utilized for the numerical simulations.

There has been a rapid growth in the numbers of attacks to the information and communication systems. Also, we witness smarter behaviors from the attackers. Thus, to prevent our systems from these attackers, we need to create smarter intrusion detection systems. In this paper, a new intelligent intrusion detection system has been proposed using genetic algorithms. In this system, at first, the network connection features were ranked according to their importance in detecting attack using information theory measures. Then, the network traffic linear classifiers based on genetic algorithms have been designed. These classifiers were trained and tested using KDD99 data sets. A detection engine based on these classifiers was build and experimented. The experimental results showed a detection rate up till to 92.94%. This engine can be used in real-time mode.

In this paper, a new zero voltage switching isolated buck-boost DC-DC converter with active clamp circuit is proposed. The active clamp circuit in this converter not only absorbs voltage spikes across the main switch but also provides soft switching conditions for all switches. All switches are PWM controlled which simplifies the control implementation. One of the main advantages of this converter is the that it operating can operate at high power levels while soft switching conditions exist in both buck and boost modes of converter operation. Since this converter can operate over a wide input voltage range, it can be employed in power factor correction. The experimental results obtained from a 150W prototype circuit operating at 100KHz are presented to confirm the integrity of the proposed circuit.

In this paper, the direct torque control (DTC) technique is used for the speed control of induction motors, and then fuzzy logic is used for designing the speed controller, the improvement of torque response and the reduction of the speed error. The DTC method is utilized due to its quick torque response and robustness against sudden load variations. Also, by applying fuzzy logic unpredicted problems can be solved. The fuzzy logic also can improve the work of the speed control in induction motors. The results indicate that this approach improves the torque response significantly and reduces speed error.

In this paper the power flow control at power systems in the presence of distributed generation is analyzed. The work proposes use of Unified power flow controller (UPFC) to control the power flow at the load bus by Main supply in coordination with DG source. This work shows that using UPFC leads to the reduction of the oscillation power and voltage at the time of three phase fault in the system. The studies are performed based on the well known software, MATLAB/SIMULINK Simulation results show that the stability and effectiveness of the applied operation of DG source in coordination with the main utility can be achieved by using UPFC .

This paper presents an algorithm for the segmentation of Blood Vessels from x-ray angiography of coronary artery images using Matched filters and Otsu thresholding . Identifying these arteries is a difficult process because of the vessel overlapping, and superimposition with various anatomical structures such as the ribs, the spine and the heart chambers. Firstly, the 3D Fourier and 2D Wavelet transforms are first used to eliminate the background and reduce noise in the images. Afterwards, a set of matched filters was applied to enhance the coronary arteries in the images. Finally with Otsu thresholding and 8-connected neighborhood pixels the segmented vessel was obtained.

STATCOM is one of the most popular devices that been used for voltage stability. There has been no report on the effect of SATCOM control mode on voltage stability. It is very important to understand which parameters and what value of these parameters affect the voltage stability. The results of previous studies have shown that the STATCOM have considerable effects on the improvement of voltage stability, but there have not been any investigations on the effects of the control mode of STATCOM on the voltage stability. This paper deals with the effect of the STATCOM control mode on voltage stability. Simulation results on the IEEE 30-bus test system show the high effect of the STATCOM control mode on voltage stability.

IEEE 802.11i Sandard have good privacy, integrity and authentication and good management key. However this standard dos not really mention about accessability and protection of management and control frame, so it is vulnerable again DoS attacks and allow a hacker to play different attacks. One type of this threat is due to EAP fames which make heavy traffic on network, and cause blocking server or legal user. In this paper we review attacks due these frames, and we present good way to deal with these attacks.

Endpoint detection, which means distinguishing speech and non- speech segments, is considered as one of the key preprocessing operations in automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems. Usually the energy of speech signal and Zero Crossing Rate (ZCR), are used to locate the beginning and ending for an utterance. Both of these methods have been shown to be effective for endpoint detection. However, especially in a high noise environment they fail. In this paper, we integrate the modified Teager approach with the Energy-Entropy Features. In our new algorithm, the Teager Energy is used to determine crude endpoints, and the Energy-Entropy Features are used to make the final decision. The advantage of this method is that there is no need to estimate the background noise. Therefore, it is very helpful for environments when the beginning or ending noise is very strong or there is not enough “silence” at the beginning or at the end of the utterance. Experimental results on Farsi speech show that the accuracy of this algorithm is quite satisfactory and acceptable for speech endpoints detection.

A complimentary topology is used incorporating TSMC 0.18 m m process to design a CMOS VCO with the center frequency of 5.4 GHz. Simulation results showed tuning range of 13%. The phase noise at 1 MHz offset was measured to be -118.7 dBc/Hz. The VCO core power consumption was 3.3 mW when the power supply voltage was set to 1.5 V. Simulation results verified that the designed structure meets the IEEE802.11a requirements.
