Macroergonomics considerations on COVID-19 pandemic management in an alliance construction project, focusing on personal protective equipment protocols 联盟建设项目COVID-19大流行管理的宏观工效学思考,以个人防护装备方案为重点

This study focused on COVID-19 management in a large-scale alliance construction project in Finland. In this study, COVID-19-related guidance and requirements provided by different system influencers were analysed from a macroergonomics project management perspective. Because most of the guidance and regulations dealt with respiratory protection, the latter part of the analysis is devoted to this complexity. As a practical example, the findings from a respirator mask-safety goggles combination test conducted at the alliance project site are reported. Accordingly, all mask-goggles combinations failed, resulting in a 'best for the project' decision not to issue an order to wear both forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) simultaneously. The test results were also of interest to the system influencers. As a result, the safety authorities changed their original interpretation of PPE guidelines as long as the COVID-19 situation remains critical.

Trust in decision support: eye-tracking as a continuous measurement 对决策支持的信任:眼球追踪是一种持续的测量

Decision aids are developed to ease cognitive load on operators interacting with complex automated systems; however, critical human components are often ignored during design. Finding an appropriate balance of automated assistance and operator trust is paramount in achieving optimal output from the human-automation interaction. Establishing a consistent metric of trust measurement will enhance the functional design of automated decision support, especially as the use of eye tracking opens the field to the use of real-time measurements. This study tasks participants to make measurements, assisted by a decision aid system, within a bone defect model image. The study tests for correlation between eye tracking data and participant trust survey answers. Results do not indicate a significant correlation; however, fixation duration and fixation count on decision aids rise as decision aid reliability decreases. These results support eye tracking's potential as a real-time, continuous measurement of human trust in automation.
