Fast dynamic DC-link power balancing scheme for a PWM converter-inverter system 一种PWM变换器-逆变器系统的快速动态直流链路功率平衡方案

We propose a new converter control scheme for a converter-inverter system. The strategy is to fully utilize the inverter dynamics in controlling the converter dynamics. We obtain the power dynamics for both converter and inverter systems, and control the converter power so that it matches the required inverter power exactly. Then, in the ideal case, no power flows through the DC-link capacitors, and thus the DC-link voltage does not fluctuate even though a very small amount of the DC-link capacitance is used. In forcing the converter power to match the inverter power, we utilize the master/slave control concept. We control the DC-link voltage level indirectly through the stored capacitor energy in order to exploit the advantage of the linear dynamic behavior of the capacitor energy. This helps us to circumvent a complex control method in regulating the DC-link voltage. Through simulation and experimental results, the superiority of the proposed converter control scheme is demonstrated.

RoboSiM: Java 3D robot visualization RoboSiM: Java 3D机器人可视化

The programming language Java has made it possible to develop device independent software. The authors introduce a robot visualization system implemented in Java. This graphical user interface is part of their robot simulation and monitoring system (RoboSiM). Currently two versions of the visualization exist, a Java 1.1 based system and its successor realized in Java 3D. Both applets display real or virtual robot arms and enable the user to manipulate this arm. Due to the support of distributed computing by Java and its platform independence, the Java GUI may run on different local and remote systems. Therefore the same robot may be controlled by a local user or via Intranet or Internet with the same applet. The GUI applet communicates directly with the control or simulation computer. In contrast to the Java 1.1 user interface, the Java 3D robot visualization is much more detailed. Compared with other visualization systems the Java 3D applet is very realistic. Therefore the Java display is a capable alternative to the traditional visualization.

Reduced-order control of permanent magnet synchronous motors 永磁同步电动机的降阶控制

This study presents simple and effective high performance tracking controllers for permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). A reduced-order model is derived from the singular perturbation analysis of the PMSM model by taking advantage of the two-time-scale property of small electrical machines. Controller designs based on this reduced model are simple and do not need to measure the current signals for feedback purposes because the model applies a set of second-order nonlinear dynamic equations that contain only mechanical variables. The steady-state current response can still be controlled indirectly to achieve near-minimum power dissipation, even though current signals are not measured. Moreover, the stability of the reduced system, as well as that of the original full system under control, is also studied herein. Experimental results demonstrate that the controllers developed in this study are capable of achieving high performance position and velocity tracking control.

Load analysis of packet switched networks in control systems 控制系统中分组交换网络的负载分析

Analysis and design of switched networks in control systems often comes in close connection with the load analysis problem. Given the volume and pattern of traffic among the network end nodes, the problem can be defined as computing the amount of traffic or load on the network internal nodes, corresponding to network switch devices. We discuss a systematic solution to this problem using the graph model of the network coupled with a compact representation of the network traffic in the form of a traffic matrix. In particular, we present an iterative solution for a special class of switched networks, namely, networks with free topology. Beginning with the graph model and the traffic matrix of the original network, the loads on end nodes of the network are computed through simple matrix operations. The graph model is then trimmed by removing a group of end nodes and an equivalent traffic matrix is computed for the new graph. The procedure is repeated until the network is reduced to a single node, which typically happens to be the backbone switch of the network.

A programmable current vector control IC for AC motor drives 用于交流电机驱动的可编程电流矢量控制IC

This paper presents the design and implementation of a programmable current vector control (CVC) IC for AC motor drives. A digital current vector control scheme realized using a complex programmable logic device (CPLD) has been proposed. This CVC IC is designed as a co-processor for general-purpose microcontrollers used for adjustable speed AC drives. This programmable digital current controller is realized using 10-bit integer arithmetic and employs about 20 thousand logic gates of a CPLD (FLEX 10 K 100) from Altera Co. The designed CVC IC can be used for both synchronous and induction motors. The sampling rate can be programmed up to 50 kHz. Application of this CVC IC with a conventional microprocessor in an AC drive has been demonstrated. Experimental results are given to illustrate the performance of the designed vector control IC.

Voltage switching tables for DTC controlled interior permanent magnet motor 直流转矩控制内置永磁电机电压开关表

This paper compares two voltage-vector switching tables for direct torque controlled (DTC) interior permanent magnet (IPM) motors. The conventional eight voltage-vector switching table which is normally used in the DTC of induction motors does not seem to regulate the torque and stator flux in an IPM motor well when the motor operates at low speed. Modelling and experimental studies have both revealed that a six voltage-vector switching table is more appropriate for an IPM motor drive at low speed. This paper reports the results of a modelling and experimental study of the two voltage switching tables for the DTC of the IPM motor, for operation at low and at high speeds.

In spite of the availability of powerful computing, display and communications technologies, many lectures are still presented employing backboard and chalk, or their modern-day equivalents. At the same time, Internet-based techniques are providing the impetus to rapidly change the mode of interacting with students. These and other innovative teaching methods are explored. While many of these methods involve large amounts of time and money, meaningful changes can be made with modest investments. With this in mind, widespread participation by the educational community is encouraged with emphasis on the interface between technology and pedagogical strategies.

A novel three-phase active filter based on neural networks and sliding mode control 一种基于神经网络和滑模控制的新型三相有源滤波器

In this paper, a new three-phase active power filter (APF) is proposed. This filter can be successfully utilised for harmonic mitigation and reactive power compensation in electric power systems supplying nonlinear loads. An adaptive linear neural network is adopted for harmonic current detection and reference signal estimation. In addition, a sliding mode technique is used for maintaining sufficient tracking of reference. It controls the generation of PWM gating patterns required for the proper operation of a 3 phase voltage source converter. The APF is shunt connected to the point of common coupling (PCC) to supply the appropriate compensating currents. The integrity of the proposed scheme is fulfilled through digital simulation results. Moreover, the superiority of its performance is proved by comparison to other active filtering approaches. The results show an appreciable improvement in the source current waveforms and a near unity power factor operation is achieved. The presented control system of the APF exhibits robustness and a high dynamic response. The resultant enhancement in the system power quality is expressed by a unified index.

The results show an appreciable improvement in the source current waveforms and a near unity power factor operation is achieved. The presented control system of the APF exhibits robustness and a high dynamic response. Space current vector modulated current source active converter with resonant snubber and current overlapping soft-commutation schemes 具有谐振缓冲器和电流重叠软整流方案的空间电流矢量调制电流源有源变换器

This paper presents a three-phase current source PWM converter with a single resonant DC link snubber which can operate under zero current switching (ZCS) commutation. The operation principle of this soft-switching converter is based upon the current overlapping soft-commutation and the resonant snubber soft-commutation. A new space current vector modulated control strategy of this converter is effectively implemented by applying the space vector pattern to minimize the operating number of auxiliary active switches under the resonant snubber soft-commutation.

Rapid resin mold with embedded thin film pressure/temperature sensors 快速树脂模具嵌入薄膜压力/温度传感器

In this paper we have developed a new approach by embedding sensors into rapid resin mold's core and cavity for directly measuring the pressure and temperature information for the purpose of improving the injection molding process. Using the information collected by embedded piezoelectric sensors, we can develop an on-line, close-loop control system to ensure the quality of products. We have simulated the system with time versus temperature for different mold materials.
