In this paper, thermal transfer with natural convection in a tilted annular cylinder with a Cu-water nanofluid has been numerically studied. The hot interior and cold exterior elliptical surfaces of the enclosure were maintained at constant temperatures Th and Tc , respectively. The governing equations were solved by the stream function-vorticity approach. The finite volume approach was utilized to discretise the controlling equations. The volume fraction range of the nanoparticles and the Rayleigh number was as follows: 0<ϕ<0.08 and 10^4

Fuzzy logic control of active suspension system equipped with a hydraulic actuator 液压作动器主动悬架系统的模糊逻辑控制

In this paper, the Active Suspension System (ASS) of road vehicles was investigated. In addition to the conventional stiffness and damper, the proposed ASS includes a fuzzy controller, a hydraulic actuator, and an LVDT position sensor. Furthermore, this paper presents a nonlinear model describing the operation of the hydraulic actuator as a part of the suspension system. Additionally, the detailed steps of the fuzzy controller design for such a system are introduced. A MATLAB/Simulink model was constructed to study the proposed ASS at different profiles of road irregularities. The results have shown that the proposed ASS has superior performance compared to the conventional Passive Suspension System (PSS), where the body displacement can be minimized to about 70.1 % and the settling time is reduced to about 48.4 %. Also, the results have shown that the actuator force can reach 68 % of the body weight under the worst studied road conditions.

Application of direct and inverse kinematics and dynamics in motion planning of manipulator links 正逆运动学和动力学在机械手连杆运动规划中的应用

For the synthesis of manipulators and robots, an accurate analysis of the movements of the individual links is essential. This thesis deals with motion planning of the effector of a multi-linked manipulator. An important topic in this area is the orientation and position of links and kinematic pairs in space. In particular, attention should be paid to the position of their endpoint as well as other significant points. Trajectory planning allows the manipulator to perform complex tasks, such as picking and placing objects or following a particular path in space. Overall, trajectory planning of a multibody manipulator involves a combination of direct and inverse kinematics calculations, as well as control theory and optimization techniques. It is an important process enabling manipulators to perform complex tasks such as assembly, handling and inspection. In the design of robot kinematic structures, simulation programs are currently used for their kinematic and dynamic analysis. The proposed manipulator was first solved by inverse kinematics problem in Matlab. Subsequently, the trajectories of the end-effector were determined in Matlab by a direct kinematics problem. In Simulink, using the SimMechanics library, the inverse problem of dynamics was used to determine the trajectories of the moments.

Magneto-thermo-piezo-elastic wave in an initially stressed rotating monoclinic crystal in a two-temperature theory 双温理论中初始应力旋转单斜晶体中的磁热压电弹性波

This research problem is an investigation of wave propagation in a rotating initially stressed monoclinic piezoelectric thermo-elastic medium under with the effect of a magnetic field. A two-temperature generalized theory of thermo-elasticity in the context of Lord-Shulman’s theory is applied to study the waves under the magnetic field. The governing equations of a rotating initially stressed monoclinic piezoelectric thermo-elastic medium with a magnetic field are formulated. This research problem is solved analytically, for a two-dimensional model of the piezo-electric monoclinic solid, and concluded that there must be four piezo-thermoelastic waves, three coupled quasi waves (qP (quasi-P), qT (quasi-thermal), and qSV (quasi-SV)) and one piezoelectric potential (PE) wave propagating at different speeds. It is found that at least one of these waves is evanescent (an evanescent wave is a non-propagating wave that exists) and that there are therefore no more than three bulk waves. The speeds of different waves are calculated and the influence of the piezoelectric effect, two-temperature parameter, frequency, rotation, and magnetic field on phase velocity, attenuation coefficient, and specific loss is shown graphically. This model may be used in various fields, e.g. wireless communications, signal processing, and military defense equipment are all pertinent to this study.

Stagnation-point flow of Williamson fluid along a stretched plate with convective thermal condition and activation energy 具有对流热条件和活化能的Williamson流体沿拉伸板的滞点流动

The implication of a stagnation-point flow together with the influence of activation energy in a Williamson fluid, which consists of tiny particles, over an expansive plate is analyzed numerically. Conditions of convective heat and mass motion with features of irregular movement and thermal-migration of particles influenced by viscous dissipation and convective heat surface condition are checked in the study. The conversion of the model equations from the initially formulated partial derivatives to ordinary ones is implemented by similarity transformations while an unconditionally stable Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg integration plus shooting technique are then used to complete the integration. Various interesting effects of the physical parameters are demonstrated graphically and explained appropriately in order to make accurate predictions. Moreover, the accuracy of the solution is verified by comparing the values of the skin friction factor with earlier reported ones in literature under limiting constraints. It is worth mentioning that the velocity profiles flatten down as the magnitude of the magnetic field factors expands but this causes a boost in the fluid’s temperature. The concentration field also appreciates with activation energy but depreciates with chemical reaction and Schmidt number.

An incompressible unsteady free convective viscous MHD rotating flow past a moving plate embedded in a porous medium is considered with the influence of viscous dissipation, heat source effects. It is assumed that the flow rotates with angular velocity which is normal to the plate and also that a transverse magnetic field is applied along the normal to the plate. Appropriate dimensionless quantities are applied to change the governing equations into dimensionless form. Then the equations are solved numerically using the Galerkin finite element method. Some important characteristics of the fluid are studied. The results are in good agreement with the available literature.

The influence of the slip factor on the MHD 2-liquid heat transfer flow of ionized gases within a channel between two non-conducting plates with Hall currents is investigated theoretically. Slip conditions were used to obtain solutions for the velocity and temperature fields, as well as the heat transfer rates. The flow characteristics of the two liquids are studied for estimates of the leading parameters, for instance the magnetic parameter, Hall and slip factors, viscosity, density, height, electrical conductivity and the thermal conductivity ratios. It was observed that an upsurge in temperature in the two zones is caused by the thermal conductivity proportion. The rate of heat transfer coefficient diminishes up to a certain point, after that it starts to increase as the magnetic and Hall parameters increase

Damage-reliability approach for fatigue crack propagation in MDPE gas pipe MDPE气管疲劳裂纹扩展损伤可靠性分析

Fatigue crack propagation tests are carried out on arc-shaped specimens prepared from MDPE gas pipes. Damage zone characterization is achieved using the diamond wafer sectioning technique from partially propagated and prematurely arrested cracks. Damage ahead of the crack-tip is used to assess a damage parameter and reliability based on statistical laws and subsequent use the PHIMECA Software. It is shown that a length and a width associated with a corresponding change in thickness at the fracture surface satisfactorily describe the damage zone size. The 3-parameter Weibull model gives the best reliability behavior and a critical lifetime of 82%. When considering separately both the Dugdale model and experimental damage zone measurements, it is possible to establish the evolution of the reliability index as a function of crack length. It is concluded that the reliability index approach based on damage provides a more consistent representation compared to analytical models.

One-dimensional thermal shock problem for a semi-infinite hygrothermoelastic rod 半无限湿热弹性杆的一维热冲击问题

The present research article deals with the study of a boundary value problem of a one-dimensional semi-infinite hygro-thermoelastic rod of length l. The deformation of the rod is under consideration when the left boundary of the hygro-thermoelastic rod is subjected to a sudden heat source. The solutions of the considered variables are decomposed in terms of normal modes. Analytical expressions of displacement, moisture concentration, temperature field, and stresses are obtained and presented graphically for different periods. By studying the one-dimensional thermal shock problem for a semi-infinite hygrothermoelastic rod, the authors aim to gain insights into the fundamental behavior of materials subjected to rapid temperature changes and moisture effects.

An analysis of the influence of inertia forces and ponderomotive forces on the destabilization of the flow of viscous fluids in the hydrodynamic initial section is given. Cases of flow of viscous, anomalously viscous and electrically conductive liquids are considered; the degree of influence of mass forces on the destabilization of the flow is estimated. As applied to the flow in the hydrodynamic initial section, the degree of influence of inertia forces from convective acceleration and forces with a magnetic nature can be different. Inertia forces stimulate the accelerated movement of the fluid, and in the case of forces with a magnetic nature, ponderomotive forces contribute to deceleration, which is confirmed by the results of studies of the velocity field. Recommendations are given for calculating the length of the hydrodynamic initial section in the presence of mass forces with different nature.
