The pandemic occasioned by COVID-19 has caused, as a sudden and unpredictable need, the introduction of teleworking in the productive systems of most of the countries. Many States have had to resort to old and outdated norms that did not assume the few guarantees of the existing international and supranational instruments. However, other countries have taken advantage of the health emergency situation to reform and update their telework regulations. The purpose of this contribution is to analyze the new regulations that emerged during the pandemic and to carry out a general assessment of their contents to check if they are adapted to the demands and recommendations that, in a digital society, should characterize teleworking. The purpose of this contribution is to analyze the new rules that have arisen from the pandemic and to make a general assessment of their contents to check whether they are adapted to the requirements and recommendations that, in a digital society, should characterize teleworking. To do this we make a tour of the international legal system in order to identify the instruments, rules and principles that can help us to outline the basic institutions that should support the regulation of telework to, then, make an assessment of the laws that in recent months have been implemented in some of the countries that make up the Ibero-American space (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, Portugal) to deal with this reality. The analysis carried out shows that, even with few international references, the different legal systems have been able to articulate guaranteeing regulations that observe the few existing guidelines: voluntariness, reversibility, and an important set of rights for teleworkers. However, there are pending issues that need to be addressed in greater depth: those related to the right to occupational health and digital rights, as well as the development of the institution through collective bargaining, a mechanism that could balance the different interests and ensure a greater acceptance of these regulations.

Researchers and practicing professionals are continually assessing the positive effects of psychosocial factors at work. This study psychometrically examined use of the ultra-short version of the Utrech Work Engagement Scale (UWES-3). Two hundred workers in Lima, Peru participated, ranging from 21 to 53 years of age. We corroborated the validity of the scale, according to its internal structure and relationship with other constructs; Cronbach alpha (α), omega (ω) and H coefficients were the reliability estimators. Results confirmed the unidimensionality of the UWES-3 and its negative association with burnout syndrome; scale reliability, based on the three estimators, was high. The initial validity and reliability results of the UWES-3 can be considered satisfactory and encourage its continued use in the Peruvian workforce.

Objective: Digital technologies have become a strategy to improve the effectiveness of health services. The objective of this study was to analyse the impact of the use of digital health tools on the management of sickness absence and return to work.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. The following databases were searched for the period April 2021 to June 2021: Pubmed, Cochrane, Web of Science, CINAHL and ScienceDirect. Methodological quality was assessed by using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal tools.
Results: A total of 24 studies were eligible for inclusion; there was great heterogeneity of results, due to a wide range of measurement methods. The majority of outcomes supported the use of digital tools as making an important contribution to in managing the number of sickness absence and return to work cases. In some studies, there were no significant changes as compared to traditional case management; nevertheless, none of the 24 studies found detrimental effects due to the use of digital health tools. Additionally, 10 of the studies provided data on presenteeism and other determinants of sickness absence and return to work, including resilience, work engagement and psychological detachment from work.
Conclusions: The use of digital health tools contributes positively to the recovery of workers who are in a situation of temporary disability, facilitating the management of return to work and favoring a decrease in workplace sickness absence.
