The article provides a comparative study of sermons on thewedding at Cana (Second Sunday after Epiphany) from three Danishsermon collections by Peter Madsen (d. c. 1486), Christiern Pedersen(d. 1554), and Hans Tausen (d. 1561). The study draws upon methodologicaldevelopments within the field of sermon studies to show theimportance of a contextualizing, trans-reformation perspective: contextualizing,by referring to the context of the sermon collection in thestudy of the singular sermon and taking into account its purpose andcompilation; trans-reformation, by referring to a selection of materialfrom before and after the reformation in order to better understand thereception of tradition through its rejection, adaptation, and continuation. On this basis, the article argues that before and after the reformationthere was general agreement in the exegesis of the pericope, butgreat difference in how the text was used – a difference that may partlybe explained by a contextualization of the sermon.

Daniel Mikkelsen
The article examines the character of the resurrection body in 1 Corinthians 15,36-58 focusing on exegesis and vocabulary. The examination pays special attention to the two most dominating views of the resurrection body in recent scholarly debate, the resurrection of re-newed flesh and the resurrection in pneumatic material. The article has three parts. Since both views attend to much of the same terminology, a clarification of their terminology is first given. Next, the exegetical dif-ferences between them are lined up against one another. Finally, an ex-egesis is given which argues that Paul is not talking about a resurrection body composed of ethereal material spirit, but about a body composed of flesh whose state and quality have changed so that it becomes both incorruptible and immortal. This is because the reason for the corrup-tion of the flesh is Adam’s fall and sin, not the flesh itself.

Nyevangelismen set med danske øjne
Q4 Arts and Humanities Pub Date : 2019-08-12 DOI: 10.7146/dtt.v81i4.115361
Finn Aa. Rønne
Whereas the so-called “New-Evangelicalism” (“Nyevangelismen”) is a well-known phenomenon in Swedish revival history and has drawn much attention in Swedish church history scholarship, it has gone relatively unnoticed in a Danish context. This article focuses on the question: What is New-Evangelicalism from a Danish point of view? The question is addressed primarily within the discipline of His-torical Theology and in relation to soteriology. “New-Evangelicalism” is defined as the revival movement closely associated with the Swedish author, C.O. Rosenius (1816-1868). The article argues that New-Evan-gelicalism is characterized by a tension between pietism and moravian-ism, not least with regard to soteriological issues. This has resulted in different versions of the movement depending on whether the previous religious environment was dominated by either pietism or moravian-ism. It is also shown that the relation between pietism and moravianism in the local versions of New-Evangelicalism is expressed through their position on the doctrine of universal justification.
“新福音主义”被定义为与瑞典作家C.O.Rosenius(1816-1868)密切相关的复兴运动。

Det nye billede 新图像
Q4 Arts and Humanities Pub Date : 2019-08-12 DOI: 10.7146/dtt.v81i4.115360
T. Pedersen
Discussing the scenario of future resurrection in 1 Cor. 15, Paul touches on the visual aspects of the bodily transformation which he claims will take place as a part of eschatological fulfilment. The con-cept of image plays a crucial role in this transformation as he believes the resurrected body will be shaped according to a “heavenly” exemplar, which he refers to as an image. Using examples drawn from Roman visual culture, both visual and textual, the article describes what type of image Paul’s Corinthian readers would have been inclined to think of in connection with a discussion of bodily transformation such as the one imagined by Paul.

Kristuskarakteristik og eksempelfortælling

Louise Heldgaard Bylund
During its history of interpretation and reception, the temptation story in Matthew 4:1–11 and Luke 4:1–13 has been interpreted with emphasis on either its Christological or its paraenetical dimension. The article investigates how contemporary Danish children’s bibles retell the story with accent on the paraenetic elements. The children’s bibles reframe the story according to the genre of the morality tale. With literary devices such as focalization, metalepsis, shared interest and reader involvement strategies, the children’s bibles portray Jesus as a positive moral example for readers to emulate. This implies a view of the intended reader as a competent child who is capable of understanding and identifying with the text and overcome the devil’s temptations.
