Breakfast is an activity of eating and drinking between waking up to 9 am to fulfill some of the daily nutritional needs(15-30% nutritional needs). The benefits of breakfast are maintaining an ideal body weight because breakfast canreduce the amount of food you eat throughout the day. The purpose of this study was to find out the description ofbreakfast and Body Mass Index (BMI) in students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau in 2017. This researchwas descriptive study with 121 samples. The results showed 16.3% obese I and 8.1% obese II. Respondents with goodbreakfast calories tend to have good nutritional status of 50.0%.

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease that has 2 main targets of treatment, keeping the glucose levels within normalrange, and preventing complications. The purposed of this research is to know the description of blood glucosemonitoring consisting of fasting blood glucose, HbA1C, and self monitoring blood glucose (SMBG). This was aqualitative research by using observation method and deep interview to ten informant. The results showed thecheckup of fasting blood glucose levels have been going well with some obstacles, for instance, running out ofglucose strips. Puskesmas ‘X’ did not perform HbA1C checkup due to unavailability of laboratory equipment. OverallDM patients did not perform SMBG because they did not have the device, but the researchers obtained one patientwho had a device at home, but the patient still chose to check his blood glucose at the puskesmas because the lowknowledge of the patient to perform SMBG.

House dust mite have an important role as an allergens in allergic diseases such as atopic dermatitis. Atopic dermatitisis inflammation of the skin with itching, chronic and recurrent symptoms. The aim of this study was to find out thedescription of house dust mites in the house of patients at Petala Bumi Hospital. Design of study was a crosssectional. This study was occured from May-June 2018 in the Laboratory of Parasitology and involved 30 atopicdermatitis patients with consecutive sampling technique. Results is showed 100% of atopic dermatitis patients housewere positive for house dust mites, 63.3% of patients behaved badly in hygiene which affected degree of house dustmite spread. Conclusions of this study showed that a whole place of atopic dermatitis patients house was positive forhouse dust mite, most of patients behaved badly in hygiene which affected degree of house dust mite spread.

The complete mung bean’s phytochemicals composition help the hematopoiesis process increasing hemoglobin levels.Hemoglobin level is important as anemia sign. Anemia in adolescent girls might affect reproductive health. The aim ofthis study was to determine the effectiveness of mung beans compote to increase hemoglobin levels for adolescentgirls at the Pekanbaru City Orphanage. This study was quasi-experimental study with one group pre test-post testdesign method. This study included 28 adolescent girls who had experienced menses and were not under any othermedications. We used purposive sampling method to chose the subject. Hemoglobin levels were assessed pre andpost oral administration of a cup mung bean compote 2 times a day for a week, each volume of 250 ml. The results wereanalyzed by paired t-test. We found that the average hemoglobin levels of adolescent girls are 13.13 g% and 13.14 g%respectively for pre and post treatment. Statistically, there was unsignificant effect of mung beans compote in increasinghemoglobin level (p = 0.97.

Talaromycosis marneffei is a mycotic disease caused by Talaromyces marneffei which primarily infectimmunocompromised patient. This disease is endemic in Southeast Asia, and Indonesia consider as endemic area dueto a case of tourist who got the infection after visiting Indonesia. Diagnosis was made based on clinical suspicion withlaboratory confirmation. Clinical manifestations are not specific, such as fever, anemia, weight loss, lymphadenopathy, hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, respiratory disorder, and cutaneous manifestation. Histopathology and culture are themost common examination performed for diagnosis. In histopathology examination, fungi appear as fission arthroconidiacells which shape round to oval, with cross wall formation inside or outside macrophage and histiocyte. Thermaldimorphism characteristic can be observed in fungal culture. Fungi grows as mold at 25oC-30oC and as yeast at 37oC.Definitive identification of T. marneffei was done by molecular examination using primers derived from ITS region asprimary marker and beta tubulin region as secondary marker. Talaromyces marneffei is sapronosis, that transmitted viainhalation of conidia from environment.

Genital Warts (GW) is one of the most common clinical manifestations of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. GWpatients experience discomfort and anxiety about the effects of illness that will affect their quality of life (QOL). Thepurpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between GW and QOL of Female Sex-Workers (FSW) in hotspotX of Pekanbaru which involved 49 FSW by using total sampling technique. The QOL data was taken by usingWHOQOL-BREF questionnaire that consists of physical, psychological, social, and enviromental score. whereas theGW data from physical examination. Data were analyzed by using t-test and Mann Whitney. The t-test showed theresult of psychological score (p=0,000), environmental score (p=0,463). The Mann-Whitney test showed the resultphysical score (p=0,007), social score (p=0,019). It could be concluded that there was a relationship between GW withphysical, psychological, and social scores, but no relationship with environmental score.

The aim of fluid therapy during hemodynamic resuscitation is to increase global blood flow and increase flow to themicrocirculation and therby, and thus oxygen availability for cellular respiration. Effect of volume expansion onmicrovascular perfusion might not always be in coherence with its macrocirculatory. It should be stressed that the totalamount of volume administered during fluid resuscitation is believed to be a major determinant of outcome in criticallyill shock patients. The purpose of this review is to evaluate the boundaries of macrohemodynamic approach to fluidadministration and the integrated with microcirculatory.

Hemodialysis is defined as the process of separation, filtering, or cleansing of blood through a semipermeablemembrane in patients renal failure. Indication of hemodialysis for both diseases is clinical conditions in addition tolaboratory results, such as signs of fluid overload, electrolyte imbalance, metabolic acidosis, and signs of anemia. Thisstudy purposed to describe the profile of patients initiation hemodialysis in RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province PeriodJanuary-December 2017. This research was a retrospective descriptive. This study used 94 samples. The number ofmale patients were higher than female patients (60.6%). The most age group was 40-59 years (57.4%). Second degree ofhypertension was 46,8%. The study showed 92.55% of patients had anemia, 50% had hyperkalemia, 56.4% hadhyponatremia, and 41.5% had acidosis. Patients consisted of 81.9% chronic kidney disease, and 18.1% acute renalfailure.

Community empowerment activities will be success if it is supported by the ability to build network. An ability to builda network is needed to get the support, that can be done during the interaction in work, such as building a goodnetworking stage. This study aims to describe elderly community health care (ECHC) (posyandu lansia) networkingwith Rukun Warga (RW) in working area of Melur Pekanbaru Health Center. The study was qualitative descriptive, this study involving six main informants, three ECHC cadres and three RT heads and seven key informants, threeheads of ECHC, three heads of RW and one head Puskesmas. Data were collected by in-depth interviews recorded witha voice recorder. The result showed the ECHC Network with RW can help to optimize the implementation of activitiesto support community empowerment as seen from elderly posyandu networking role with RW.
