ABSTRAK Pendahuluan: Ibu hamil merupakan satu kelompok masyarakat yang rentan terhadap masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut, dikarenakan adanya perubahan fisik, biologis, dan hormon. Letak geografis dan administratif juga memengaruhi kesehatan gigi dan mulut berdasarkan kemudahan akan akses pelayanan kesehatan yang terbagi menjadi wilayah rural dan urban. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis self assessment kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada ibu hamil di daerah rural dan urban. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif, yaitu analitik komparatif, dengan desain pengumpulan data cross sectional, dilakukan pada ibu hamil di daerah rural dan urban. Pemeriksaan dilakukan dengan menggunakan self assessment yaitu “Oral Health Questionnaire for Adults” dari WHO yang diterjemahkan ke Bahasa Indonesia. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil: Penelitian ini diikuti oleh 159 ibu hamil yang berasal dari daerah rural dan urban dengan usia rata-rata ibu hamil adalah 27.19 tahun. Hasil self assessment memperlihatkan perbedaan pendidikan ibu hamil di daerah urban lebih tinggi dari daerah rural. Mayoritas ibu hamil menilai bahwa kondisi gigi dan gusinya dalam kriteria sedang; self assessment membersihkan rongga mulut dan mengunjungi dokter gigi ibu hamil di daerah urban lebih baik daripada ibu hamil di daerah rural; tetapi ibu hamil di daerah urban lebih cenderung mengkonsumsi makanan dan minuman manis. Hasil uji statistik yang menunjukkan perbandingan memiliki nilai signifikan dengan nilai p<0.05. ABSTRAKPendahuluan Gigi tiruan menjadi solusi yang tepat untuk menggantikan gigi yang hilang. Gigi tiruan jembatan dengan bahan porcelain fused to metal paling sering digunakan dalam praktik klinis, namun memiliki kekurangan seperti efek alergenik dan efek toksisitas yang dapat disebabkan oleh bahan logam, rentan pecah, memerlukan beberapa kali kunjungan, dan membutuhkan preparasi gigi abutment yang cukup luas. Alternatif bahan yang dapat digunakan untuk gigi tiruan cekat adalah Fiber reinforced composite dengan E-glass fiber dental yang memiliki kelebihan seperti biokompatibilitas baik, memiliki kekuatan kompresi dan estetika yang baik. Ketersediaan E-glass fiber dental di Indonesia masih terbatas dengan harga yang cukup mahal. E-glass fiber non dental secara umum telah digunakan di bidang teknik. E-glass fiber non dental memiliki komposisi yang sedikit berbeda dengan E-glass fiber dental. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh posisi E-glass fiber non dental terhadap kekerasan Fiber reinforced composite. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental dengan Fiber reinforced composite dengan E-glass fiber non dental dengan 3 kelompok sampel yang teridiri dari kelompok posisi tension side, kelompok compression side, dan kelompok neutral axis yang masing masing terdiri dari 6 sampel. Sampel diuji dengan vickers hardness tester dengan beban 100gf selama 15detik, jejak indentasi dihitung untuk mendapatkan vickers hardness number (VHN). Hasil: Hasil uji pada Fiber reinforced composite dengan fiber pada posisi tension side memiliki kekerasan tertinggi dengan nilai 45,77 VHN. Fiber reinforced composite dengan fiber pada neutral axis 43,35 VHN. Fiber reinforced composite dengan fiber pada compression side memiliki nilai terendah 39,60 VHN. ABSTRAKPendahuluan: Alginat merupakan bahan cetak yang paling umum digunakan pada kedokteran gigi, namun cetakan alginat dapat menjadi media penularan infeksi silang, oleh karena itu perlu didesinfeksi terlebih dahulu. Natrium hipoklorit dan ekstrak buah mengkudu merupakan desinfektan untuk alginat. Alginat mempunyai sifat imbibisi yang mempengaruhi stabilitas dimensi cetakan alginat, sehingga akurasi dan stabilitas dimensi cetakan alginat tetap perlu dipertahankan setelah proses desinfeksi. Tujuan penelitian menganalisis perbandingan stabilitas dimensi cetakan alginat yang direndam dan disemprot dengan natrium hipoklorit 0,5%, ekstrak buah mengkudu 12%, dan ekstrak buah mengkudu 16%. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan post test only group design dengan 12 kelompok uji dan total jumlah sampel 60. Cetakan alginat yang direndam dan disemprot dengan natrium hipoklorit 0,5%, ekstrak buah mengkudu 12%, dan ekstrak buah mengkudu 16% diisi gips, dengan masing-masing diuji pada perbedaan waktu 5 menit dan 10 menit kemudian diukur stabilitas dimensinya menggunakan jangka sorong digital. Data dianalisis dengan Two Way Anova, kemudian uji Post hoc Bonferroni. Hasil: Cetakan alginat yang direndam dengan sodium hipoklorit 0,5%, ekstrak buah mengkudu 12%, dan 16% mengalami perubahan dimensi yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan yang disemprot dengan menggunakan sodium hipoklorit 0,5%, ekstrak buah mengkudu 12%, dan 16%. Uji Two Way Anova menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,05) antara cetakan alginat yang direndam dan disemprot. Sodium hypochlorite and the extract of morinda citrifolia are disinfectants for alginate. Alginate has some characteristics, such as imbibition, that can influence the dimensional stability and accuracy of the alginate impression. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between the dimensional stability of immersed and sprayed alginate impressions with 0,5% sodium hypochlorite, 12%, and 16% Morinda citrifolia extract, with each tested at a time difference of 5 minutes and 10 minutes. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan post test only group design dengan 12 kelompok uji dan total jumlah sampel 60. Cetakan alginat yang direndam dan disemprot dengan natrium hipoklorit 0,5%, ekstrak buah mengkudu 12%, dan ekstrak buah mengkudu 16% diisi gips, dengan masing-masing diuji pada perbedaan waktu 5 menit dan 10 menit kemudian diukur stabilitas dimensinya menggunakan jangka sorong digital. Data dianalisis dengan Two Way Anova, kemudian uji Post hoc Bonferroni. Hasil: Cetakan alginat yang direndam dengan sodium hipoklorit 0,5%, ekstrak buah mengkudu 12%, dan 16% mengalami perubahan dimensi yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan yang disemprot dengan menggunakan sodium hipoklorit 0,5%, ekstrak buah mengkudu 12%, dan 16%. ABSTRACT Introduction: Crowding is a condition where the length of the jaw arch is less than the length of the mesio-distal of the teeth summed. One of the methods to measure the severity of crowding is the Arch Length Discrepancy (ALD). Crowding may cause the plaque to accumulate more easily on the teeth surfaces, which can be measured by the O’Leary index. Thus, research will be done to see the impact of the crowding degree measured by the ALD analysis against the plaque accumulation measured by the O’Leary index. Methods: This research is a descriptive correlational study and the data collected is processed with Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. 37 samples are acquired from patients of Periodontic Department in RSGM Unpad treated by co-assistant of FKG Universitas Padjadjaran year 2016 to 2019 from December 2020 to March 2021. Results: Based on the acquired data for ALD index, 2 people scored 5(ALD 0mm), 7 people scored 4(ALD 0mm until 3mm), 4 people scored 3(ALD -3mm until -5mm), 6 people scored 2(ALD -5mm until -10mm), 6 people scored 1(ALD below -10mm), 12 people scored -1(ALD above 0mm/positive). For O’Leary index, 1 person scored good, 8 people scored moderate, 11 people scored poor, 17 people scored very poor. Discussion: The data obtained was processed by Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient using the software SPSS Statistics 23 and resulted that the data obtained has a weak correlation of r = -0.352 and statistically significant by p = 0,033 (p<0,05).
