This paper is connected with investigation of cold rate of rise of electric strength of 525 kV SF6 live tank circuit breaker. The article describes controlled opening during opening operation of puffer SF6 Circuit Breaker. The method gives the real estimation of gas flow influence to dynamic breakdown characteristic of puffer interrupter. The purpose of this article is to give the correlation between breakdown voltage characteristic and opening speed of circuit breaker as well from changing of filling pressure value.

This paper describes the information system, which has been developed for the storing and automated processing of the Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) Level 1C radiometric and Level 2 soil moisture data over space and time. The information system contains the database for storing the data and the interface for automated processing. That interface has been developed to provide access to these specific data from the database within the Matlab numerical computing environment used for the realization of algorithms and methods. The developed information system helps to speed up the processing of SMOS data in regional scale over a long period of time, and has successfully been used for the validation of soil temperature and moisture retrieval algorithms over the North Slope of Alaska and Yamal peninsula.

The paper provides results of analysis of tensions in the inter-stand gaps of the continuous sub-train of the 2,000 mm mill roughing train of OJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. It shows that the existing system of automated no-pull control does not fulfil modern requirements. Reasons of the roll product dimensional accuracy reduction at the gauge diversification have been defined. The main reason is presence of uncontrolled longitudinal forces in the strip between tandem stands. The study offers the algorithm of electric drive speed mode control based on the calculation of the static load moments for modes of the separate and simultaneous rolling. According to the algorithm, electric drive speed control is performed based on the results of comparing the calculated moments with the set reference values. Results of experimental studies of this algorithm at 2,000 mm mill are provided. Improvement of the tension control accuracy by the factor of 2-2.5 has been proved. The paper emphasizes advantages of the commercial introduction of the developed algorithm and lists main technical effects.

This paper describes the design and measurement of a square-law microwave transistor detectors for wideband radiometers. To increase detector dynamic range a negative feedback was used in it. Theoretical analysis and CAD harmonic balance simulation were performed to optimize the detector circuit and find the optimal value of the feedback factor. Two variants of the detector were developed: on BJT and on FET transistors. Experimental hybrid circuits have been realized with discrete transistors, lumped elements and microstrip transmission lines. Results of measurement of detector main characteristics are given: transfer function, tangential sensitivity, dynamic range, frequency response, input VSWR. Dynamic range up to 55 dB was achieved (at 1 dB compression point and 1 kHz video-bandwidth) with flat frequency response up to 4 GHz. These square-law detectors may be used for precision measurements of microwave power, for example in modulation-type wideband microwave radiometers.

In this paper, non-adaptive speed and flux observer is included in common vector control system of induction motor. The observer uses data on current and voltage to obtain information about the rotor flux and speed. The proposed observer is based on an algebraic relation involving measured and filtered signals and it shows good performance.

By method of molecular dynamics shows the possibility of moving discrete breathers with a hard type of nonlinearity along the crystal nanofibers Pt3Al. Consider the collision of discrete breathers with a hard type of nonlinearity, revealed that the interaction considered breathers cause partial dissipation of energy in the breather sublattice Al. The results may be useful in explaining the effects of low-dose and long-range effect. The possibility of the transfer of energy through the crystal over long distances can lead to structural transformation far away from the focus of excitation of these localized objects. They can will influence the transformation of the energy of the crystal structure, activate motion objects such as dislocations, Frenkel pairs or crowdion complexes.

The article presents a study of the Particle Swarm optimization method for scheduling problem. To improve the method's performance a restriction of particles' velocity and an evolutionary meta-optimization were realized. The approach proposed uses the Genetic algorithms for selection of the parameters of Particle Swarm optimization. Experiments were carried out on test tasks of the job-shop scheduling problem. This research proves the applicability of the approach and shows the importance of tuning the behavioral parameters of the swarm intelligence methods to achieve a high performance.
