This work focuses on developing a mobile training application using Augmented Reality and Geolocation in emergency cases such as tsunamis or earthquakes. The city of Arica was affected by the 1868 earthquake of magnitude 8.6 on the Ritcher scale, generating waves of 15 to 18 meters high; since that event to date, there has not been a catastrophe of similar magnitude being in a seismic lagoon. Given the problem above, it is decided to make a mobile application that includes security zones, evacuation routes, maps, and a training evaluation for the user. The agile SCRUM methodology was used in the analysis, design and implementation stages to develop and achieve the solution. For the proposed solution, it is expected 1 Universidad de Tarapacá.

This paper presents a review of the Demand-Side Management mechanism proposed for some utilities for residential load management. Also, this paper shows some Smart Appliances applications and Home Energy Management strategies developed and shown by some authors in the available literature that could be adequate strategies for improving Demand Respond inside the Smart Home context. Also, it is shown how Home Energy Management based on different Demand-Side Management strategies, could reduce peak load demand and save costs of power for end-users. Finally, the conclusions are presented.

For the design of vessels built by GFRP laminates, an insert with a memory foam layer is proposed to reduce the spread of damage produced by the vertical impact of the ship’s bottom with the sea or slamming phenomenon. Using vertical drops– weight impact machine that reproduces the energy inferred to the panel during navigation, the propagation of the damage of OoA cured prepreg panels is studied by comparing it with modified panels with insertion of viscoelastic layer. The use of acceleration data reading allows the benefits of viscoelastic modification during impact to be quantified through the developed formulation. The force, displacement, and energy returned by the panel after impact have also been quantified, which does not become intralaminar and interlaminar damage.

Large quantities of waste glass are generated every year, and inappropriate disposal creates an increasing problem that needs to be addressed. This research aims to use glass waste as a partial replacement for fine aggregates in the preparation of concretes, to save natural resources and solve environmental pollution problems. Different mixes were produced by replacing fine aggregates with 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%

The present work is a stylometric study that uses a sample of letters from the Chilean poet and Nobel Prize winner Gabriela Mistral addressed to Pedro Prado, Manuel Magallanes Moure, and Doris Dana as a corpus. This study replicates the exercise proposed by François Dominic Laramée, “Introduction to Stylometry with Python,” in which 3 forms of stylometric studies are used. This study validates the 3 methodologies. Additionally, the study complements the analysis by incorporating a word cloud to recognize the styles and tendencies of the poet through stylometry, where the nature of the relationship that existed between Mistral with Pedro Prado, Manuel Magallanes, and Doris Dana can be established and determined. This research contributes to different areas of knowledge that are interested in continuing to reveal the figure and imagination of Gabriela Mistral through some automatic analysis using programming tools and data science.

There are multiple technologies for transporting info-communications between objects and machines for the internet. Two of the most robust and with the highest coverage and support for multiple users are 4G and WiMax IEEE 802.16x. This paper presents a simulation of land coverage of both wireless communication technologies as a broadband communication alternative for new free, private, or supported operators by public institutions, such as municipalities or regional cooperatives. The cases of the cities of Riga, Bucharest, Florianópolis, Santiago, Concepción, and Copiapó were studied. The study uses Radio Mobile GLOBE-BIL software, obtaining propagation coverage graphs on digital SRTM terrain elevation maps released by NASA. This simulation determines the number of antennas required for millions of users in the context of the Internet of Things. It quantifies the square kilometers of wireless propagation coverage that can be technically achieved for each project city. The results show that WiMax supports a more significant number of connected users, has better coverage, and requires fewer antennas. On the other hand, for the propagation coverage indicator, the results for 5 cities are better for WiMax technology than 4G, except for Santiago (Chile), where the best performance is achieved for 4G over WiMax.

Project Management Office (PMO) design and use have been mainly based on praxis; nowadays, there is a demand for more scientific support. Additionally, the scientific work on the subject has been focused on business scenarios. This article develops a conceptual model of the main functions of the PMO in educational scenarios and a validated instrument at the content level that makes them measurable.
