Catches of testing outsourcing 测试外判的成效

It is no secret that a pattern “greedy for money e-lancer” exists. Outsourcing teams think only about their profit and try to increase project budget. Therewith the worst of them work with low quality. Of course this pattern hasn't arisen from scratch. There were precedents. Precedents happen. And precedents will happen. But they can be prevented. To do this we should admit these problems and begin to resolve them.

Software inspections in practice

Software inspections are one of effective software engineering instrument for improving software quality. According to statistic information inspection effectiveness in finding defects is about 60% that is 2 times greater than testing effectiveness. But it's not too easy to achieve high stable effectiveness of the inspection process. This paper describes the experience of software inspection process usage in CQG company, where the process has been consistently applied for some years. There will be talking about the process specifics, supporting instruments, metrics and compliance control.

On the integration of software product management with software defect management in distributed environments 分布式环境下软件产品管理与软件缺陷管理的集成研究

This paper presents a conceptual model for integrating software product management (SPM) and defect management in a distributed environment. Two case studies are carried out to identify SPM and defect management processes and the relation between them. From these case studies and from SPM and defect management theory, domain concepts are deducted that are used to create our conceptual model. An expert interview indicated that SPM practitioners and experts agreed that that managing software defects differs from managing requirements. In addition, 90% of the interviewees indicated that the proposed conceptual model is a good way to handle requirements and defects.

Color compression in video registration and security systems 视频配准和安防系统中的彩色压缩

This research work refers to solution of the practical security, anti-terrorist fighting problems, providing effective tools against different non-authorized penetrations. From the informatics and the software points of view these problems are linked to the image processing and creating of the compression algorithms applicable for the video array frames obtained by standard registration systems. Compression solutions become crucially important when the temporal evolution of the video stream exceeds the traffic capacity of the communication network.

In IT outsourcing efficient collaboration between the customer on the one hand and the project manager of the IT vendor company on the other hand is a critical factor for success. Often customers from Western Europe or United States try building collaboration with IT vendors in Eastern Europe without taking into account specifics of the project managers' mentality and cultural differences. This leads to confusion, miscommunication and missed expectations.

In article the approach to the estimation of program reverse semantic traceability (RST) influence on program reliability with assistance of object-oriented metrics is proposed. In order to estimate reasonability of RST usage it is naturally to define how it influences on major adjectives of software development project: project cost, quality of the developed application, etc.

A framework for crisis-time distributed systems development 危机时刻分布式系统开发的框架

The paper presents an approach for the rapid distributed application development, based on the separation of business-logic programming and system-level mechanisms. The proposed approach is supported by specially developed software, the iJaNet Framework, which is itself built upon Sun Enterprise Java and Microsoft .NET technologies. The paper shows that using the proposed methods and software it is possible to adopt distributed application development in a very short time, which may become a strong factor of the market strategy during the current financial crisis for small integrator companies. In the end of the paper two successful use-cases are presented and the benefit of using the iJaNet Framework in these projects is analyzed.

Up to these days, development control still is not well-explored as to operational guidelines and applications. In this report, the author brings forward his observations regarding software development management organisation, gives options of management configuration, as well as discussion and analysis thereof. The author suggests a scheme of development documentary support which improves quality, portability and makes easier further support of developed software.

The article describes the method for constructing sequences of user actions that are optimized for manual execution, based on the model in the form of a diagram of states and transitions. Scenarios for such implementation requires, primarily, when the GUI is the only way to interact with the application, but its implementation does not provide or make economically viable software emulation effects through it. Secondly, the test kit to perform the manual test may be necessary to assess the practicality of the graphical user interface to verify its compliance with selected standards and user acceptance testing
