Foody - Smart Restaurant Management and Ordering System Foody -智能餐厅管理和点菜系统

Customers play a vital role in the contemporary food industry when determining the quality of the restaurant and its food. Restaurants give considerable attention to customers’ feedback about their service, since the reputation of the business depends on it. Key factors of evaluating customer satisfaction are, being able to deliver the services effectively to lessen the time of consumption, as well as maintaining a high quality of service. In most cases of selecting a prominent restaurant, customers focus on their choice of favorite food in addition to available seating and space options. Long waiting times and serving the wrong order is a common mistake that happens in every restaurant that eventually leads to customer dissatisfaction. Objectives of this online application “Foody” is to address these deficiencies and provide efficient and accurate services to the customer, by providing unique menus to each customer considering their taste. This concept is implemented as a mobile application using latest IT concepts such as Business Intelligence, Data Mining, Predictive Analysis and Artificial Intelligence. This includes graphics and 3D modeling that provide existent physical information related to food such as colors, sizes and further user can view the ingredients of the meal as well as the available tables. In addition, the app shows the real-time map to the restaurant. Current table reservation status is indicated by the color change of the table. Unique food recommendation and it’s order for each customer is generated by analyzing their social media information and the system notifies the customer the wait time by calculating it. Preparation of food and allocation is done subjectively. The expected outcome of the research is to develop a fully automated restaurant management system with the mentioned features as well as to avoid confusions between orders, provide better view of food and allow the customer to choose the menu according to their taste in a minimum time.

Power Network Measurement Placement Using Graph Optimization 基于图优化的电网测量布局

In this paper, the minimum cost measurement placement problem guaranteeing power system observability is considered. Contrary to the mainstream studies predominately focused on phasor measurement unit (PMU) placements, this paper considers the placement with traditional units including line power flows and bus power injections. The result in this work serves as a precursor for the placement problem with PMU and traditional measurements in full generality. The placement problem in this paper is formulated as a graph connectivity problem, which is either solved exactly as a mixed integer linear program or approximately via minimum spanning tree and weighted bipartite matching calculations. A numerical case study on IEEE power system benchmarks demonstrates the solution methodologies for the placement problem.

A Multi-Agent System for Improving Electroencephalographic Data Classification Accuracy 提高脑电图数据分类精度的多智能体系统

Electroencephalographic (EEG) devices are utilized to measure the electrical activity of the human brain cost-effectively. In this technology, an electrical potential available on the scalp is measured. Special kind of sensors called electrodes are positioned on the scalp following international standards. One of the key benefits of the Electroencephalography is, the detectability of some brain disorders such as Epileptic Seizure. In addition to the medicinal usage, the EEG technology is often preferred by Brain Machine Interfacing (BMI) or Brain-Computer Interfacing (BCI) researchers to recognize a patient’s intentions. The objective is to control computers or machines according to the user’s intentions. In other words, BCI / BMI is an alternative hands-free Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) system which replaces the typical input devices such as a mouse or keyboard. In most BMI or BCI applications, a non-invasive EEG data acquisition approach is followed, using a consumer-grade EEG device. Such a device is equipped with only a few electrodes, causing a major drawback, limited accuracy (typically less than 70%). The only remedy for this issue is, improving the accuracy of the EEG data classifier, the computational algorithm to recognize the user intentions. In this paper, the applicability of a Multi-Agent System for EEG data classification is discussed, which has confirmed its competency in improving the accuracy by 17%, approximately.

Challenges of mHealth Implementation in Resource Constrained Settings - The Case of Sahabat Bundaku 资源受限环境下移动医疗实施的挑战——以Sahabat Bundaku为例

mHealth has a vast potential to help alleviate health challenges in developing countries, especially where there is a high growth in ICT adoption. However, many initiatives face various challenges, especially in going beyond the initial pilot funding stage. This paper uses the case of Sahabat Bundaku, a suite of mobile health applications for mother and child health, to illustrate the process and challenges of mHealth development, application and sustainability in resource constrained settings. Key lessons include (1) the importance of having a flexible engagement strategy combining top down and bottom up support, with different aspects of the program needing more support either from the top, or initiative from the frontline actors, (2) the varying needs and capacities, (3) the importance of combining technology introduction with a high-touch, low technology approach, with more face-to-face or physical interaction complementing or easing the way for technology, and (4) the importance of flexible partnership development, with multiple non-exclusive partners ensuring sustainability and growth of different aspects of the mHealth application

Impact of Electric Motorcycles on Distribution Network and Design of a Charger for Electric Motorcycles 电动摩托车对配电网的影响及电动摩托车充电器的设计

During the last decade, the popularity of motorcycle and scooters in Asian countries continuously increased. One of the main reasons for this is its effectiveness when traveling in the traffic and high fuel efficiency. At present, Electric Motorcycles (EMs) are available in the market. EM has storage with relatively smaller capacity when compared with Electric cars. Thus the charging time of an EM battery is less when compared with Electrical cars. Unlike Electric cars these EMs can be charged throughout a day. Thus the charging pattern of an EM would be different and collective power profile a distribution network differs from existing profile. This paper investigates the effect of electric motorcycle charging on the distribution network using load flow techniques. Further, an electric motorcycle charger with the capability of slow and fast charging is proposed in the paper. Simulation results, obtained from PSCAD/EMTD simulation software, of the charger along with load flow results are presented.

Energy Analyses and Projected Attributes of Sustainable Retrofits: a Case Study at SAINTGITS 能源分析和可持续改造的预期属性:圣特吉特的案例研究

At almost all the smart metropolises worldwide, energy efficient buildings have become mandatory, either by legislation or as voluntary inventiveness to alleviate the dependence on fossil fuels. Modest initiatives are aplenty to achieve energy efficiency in built structures. In this paper, we have performed a preliminary study on an existing building at SAINTGITS, a renowned academic institution at Kottayam, Kerala state, India. The projected energy loads and other related energy saving attributes were established for the proposed design through retrofits. The four stage analyses inferred that the retrofit with adequate air flushing column had reduced the energy demand and the fossil fuel dependence of the existing built structure. This sustainable approach will certainly benefit the ever growing community at tropical climes.

Multiple Error Self Checking-Repairing Fault Tolerant Adder-Multiplier 多重错误自检修复容错加法器

Human action has its own limits. In some critical applications immediate action is required like defense application, space related, medical instruments or any safety application where fault tolerant systems are essential. This paper describes a new approach of full adder (FA) to accomplish fault-tolerant adder designs, which are more efficient than the conventional approaches, in distinct characteristic against many errors. This design covers self- checking and self-repairing FA to achieve multiple error detection and correction capability of all multiple permanent & transient errors. These adders require lower area overhead, less power consumption compared to the fault-tolerant methods implemented earlier. Area overhead analysis shows that the Lizard method consist of 75% of area overhead, Partial Triple Modular Redundancy (PTMR) consist an area overhead of 61% whereas the proposed adder is 100% free from area overhead. Self-checking $FA$, designed for carry select adder (CSA), consumes 15% less area compared to the previously used self-checking CSA approach. Area overhead of the proposed adder is 25% less, Power delay product of 4 bit fault tolerant multiplier is 92% less compared to Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) method.

Decentralized Ledger for Land and Property Transactions in Sri Lanka Acresense 斯里兰卡土地和财产交易的分散分类账

Land & property can be identified as one of the core assets in any county in the world. Governments spend significant amount of money to identify, define, manage and maintain the transactional information around land and property in a country. Creating a proper mechanism to make this information available to the public users can be considered as one of the key indications that shows the development of a country. The system currently in use to record land and property transactions in Sri Lanka is a book-based system where all the information is stored in handwritten folios. This method is inefficient, time consuming, unsecured and complex when compared to the advanced systems which are used by developed countries in the world. This study is carried out to find a secured, efficient, cost effective solution with regards to the concerns and other problems related to land and property transactions in Sri Lanka. Proposed solution includes a decentralized ledger to record land and property transactions which runs on top of blockchain technology. All new transaction entries will be validated by smart contracts to verify the validity of the transactions. After performing a proper consensus mechanism, the transaction records will be stored in cryptographically secured blocks. So, the data integrity could not be violated. Additionally, investors and the land buyers can get information about the current market trends & predictions before buying or investing into a land. Also, the proposed system supports the users to view the land information graphically and allows the system users to view the desired land parcels without physically going to the actual location via the geographical information system.

Brain Tumor Type Detection Using Texture Features in MR Images 基于磁共振图像纹理特征的脑肿瘤类型检测

In this paper, the algorithms for the detection of brain tumor and then classifcation of the tumor into meningioma and glioma are proposed. Firstly, automated method is proposed for skull stripping using mathematical morphology and thresholding. Stationary wavelet transform features, Self-organizing map (SOM) and watershed algorithm are used for the segmentation of brain tumor. Gray level co- occurrence matrix (GLCM) features are extracted from tumor and feed forward neural network is used for classification. Proposed algorithm reported classification accuracy of 95% with the available dataset of real brain images from the hospital.
