For the solution of mixed problem for a system of hyperbolic equations with variable coefficients which is modeling elastic disturbance propagation in an inhomogeneous strained solid the method of finite differences is used. The influence of inhomogeneous strained state on the velocity of the disturbance propagation is studied.

A numerical approach to the problem of wave scattering by many small particles is developed under the assumptions ka « 1, d»a, where a is the size of the particles and d is the distance between the neighboring particles. On the wavelength one may have many small particles. An impedance boundary conditions are assumed on the boundaries of small particles. The results of numerical simulation show good agreement with the theory. They open a way to numerical simulation of the method for creating materials with a desired refraction coefficient.

A method of microwave non-destructive testing of exfoliation in a dielectric plate is developed. The proposed method is based on multi-frequency sensing in 5-mm waveband and solving of the inverse problem to determine dielectric structure's thickness. Precision and resolution of the proposed method are evaluated.

Primary intent of this study is development of realistic vascular structure and simulation of the blood perfusion in capillary. It is needed for precise thermal analysis using the modified bio-heat equation to provide better prediction of thermal response of tissues exposed to RF energy then in conventional Pennes model [1]. Particularly, motivation of this paper is to use previously presented modified bioheat equation [2–4] for heat exchange and temperature rise simulation on a realistic human head model.

My teacher, the person who taught me the profession of scientist, was Mikhail Alexandrovich Leontovich. His teacher was Leonid Isaakovich Mandelstam. When studying at the Moscow University, I attended his physical seminar several times. Usually, “entire physical Moscow” met there. For the students this seminar was quite complicated. In fact, I understood very little from the reports, but resuming words of L.I. were, as a rule, understandable. Now I know that if the speaker understands what he made, then he can explain the essence of his work in a form clear to “almost anyone”. The technique can be complicated but the logic is always simple.

A 3-phase DC-AC inverter system model is developed and noise produced by this non-linear system is investigated. Importance of parasitic elements consideration in computational model is shown for radiated emission test. Modeling of the system is performed using multi transmission line theory. Comparison of simulation results with measurements is done.

Influence of the EMF MF on the single Action potentials parameters and neuron synaptic habituation was investigated. It is shown, that AP parameters exert reduction after applying of the ELF EMF. Neuron synaptic excitability is increased due to applying ELF EMF.

In this paper a novel feeding technique is introduced in order to enhance the required bandwidth and reduce the size of a microstrip patch antenna which radiates efficiently in 1900–2200 MHz band for UMTS. Unlike other well-known feeding methods, rectangular radiating patch, which is designed as antenna structure, is fed by coupling of a planar conductive part which shows characteristics of a monopole antenna alone. The designed antenna has 18.3 % (1.88– 2.26 GHz) impedance bandwidth which has the quality of covering UMTS band.
