The sandstorms that occurred in September 2021 between the Southeast and Midwest regions of Brazil surprised the population and meteorologists, causing astonishment and questions. The beginning of spring and the change in temperature, which caused the movement of air masses, together with drought and soil management techniques resulted in a phenomenon rarely seen in the country. Deforestation in the Amazon region is pointed out as an important factor in the scarcity of rainfall witnessed in recent years, especially in the South, Southeast and Midwest regions, since that biome is responsible for spreading moisture from the Atlantic Ocean to these regions. The present work aimed to study the theme and draw an analysis between the listed factors that, together, caused the phenomenon, in addition to pointing out meteorological concepts for greater understanding. The methodology used was bibliographic and analytical research, seeking to reveal deforestation and planting methods with the 2021 Drought Monitor and view satellite images of Brazil in the period in which the phenomenon occurred, mainly using Google Scholar for research. From the results obtained from the Drought Monitor, which monitors mainly the intensity of drought in certain areas of the country, it can be observed that the level of drought called 'Exceptional Drought' increased in the north of the state of São Paulo, and coincidentally some of the cities where the sandstorm phenomenon occurred are contemplated with this exceptional drought. Therefore, the occurrence of the phenomenon in that year was able to open new possibilities for meteorological monitoring, aiming at the interpretation of these results, such as agricultural soil moisture, the first rain showers after the drought period, the increase in temperature and consequently the increased displacement of air masses (winds), and these events will be monitored in the future, allowing the population to be alerted to promote safety and health for all. Such monitoring and interpretation of data also contribute to the formation and implementation of future public policies and investments in research related to the topic.

Environmental services are defined as products of the ability of natural processes to provide goods that satisfy human needs, directly or indirectly. This study sought to understand the provision of environmental services in organic crops, through the identification of these services in a habitat, evaluating them from pre- selected environmental indicators and analyzing their contribution to o Sustainable Development relating the results to SDGs 2 and 15, included in the Agenda 2030 action plan. The study was developed at Chácara Koscrevic, located in Laguna, Santa Catarina, Brazil, the environment is an organic polyculture. In order to reach the objective of this study, a theoretical approach to the main indicators used to measure certain environmental services provided was sought. Five environmental services to be verified were prioritized, namely: soil capacity to perform its functions in the agroecosystem; supply of good quality food; contribution of biodiversity to the regulation of natural enemies and pollination; aesthetic-landscape contribution; contribution of sociocultural aspects. From this study we can see that the organic crops present in Chácara Koscrevic, as well as their adjacent practices, contribute to a high supply of environmental services. In addition, the crops are aligned with the global action plan for people, planet and prosperity, the UN 2030 Agenda.

Introduction: Faced with the problem of environmental pollution, with emphasis on the availability and maintenance of good quality of water resources, as well as the correct allocation of solid waste, there is a demand for low-cost and versatile technologies for wastewater treatment. Biosorption using agro-industrial residues has been investigated as a possibility to address this issue, due to the ability of the functional groups of biosorbents to allow bonds and formation of complexes with metals. Objetive: In this work, the objective was to investigate the potential of the cake from the extraction of biodiesel from the oilseed Moringa Oleífera Lam. in the removal of heavy metals from multielement matrices. Methodology: For this, the seeds of the species were collected, submitted to the production of biodiesel and, then, the cake was applied in biosorption tests, conducted under agitation, using 1 g of biosorbent, for 1 h in a matrix composed of 1 ppm of each one of the metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn). The capture of metals was monitored by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy and the plant matrix was also characterized by the X-Ray Fluorescence technique, regarding the possible natural occurrence of the respective metals. Results: Metal removal ranged from 25% to 80%, with emphasis on Cu and Pb, in which 80% was captured for both. It was also identified the presence of Cu and Zn in the biomass, possibly absorbed through the soil. Conclusion: Considering that industrial effluents have a wide range of metals, it is believed that other chemical components and parameters inherent to biosorption can interfere in the process. Therefore, more conditions need to be evaluated to maximize the scale and make the use of biosorbents viable.

As entities responsible for the creation, development and dissemination of knowledge, Universities are increasingly expected to incorporate Sustainable Development (SD) policies and principles, both in their management and in teaching, research and extension activities. But in addition to establishing policies and developing actions in the area, universities have also realized the importance of communicating them to society. The internet has brought new opportunities for carrying out this communication, and websites, in a specific way, provide spaces for disseminating information to many people at any time and place, without the need for intermediation by the mass media. The aim of this study is to investigate how the best-placed Brazilian universities in the UI Green Metric Word University Ranking (UI GreenMetric) are using websites to communicate their sustainability performance. To this end, we analysed the content of the universities' websites through a structured direct observation. In the analysis carried out, we noticed that most of them bring information on the subject, but they still have little visibility, being difficult for stakeholders to find. Stakeholders value proactive and transparent communication on sustainability, and it also contributes to building a relationship of trust, positively reflecting on the Institutions' legitimacy and reputation. The communication of sustainability carried out by universities can contribute to the achievement of broader organizational objectives, but it also contributes to society as a whole advancing towards sustainable development as this communication draws attention to the theme and contributes to awareness and development. increase in knowledge on the subject.

Introduction: The present work has its reflections undertaken in the search for understanding how the Territorial Dynamics are organized in the context that comprises the territory of the construction of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant and what were the impacts caused by the spatial reconfiguration to the education of the countryside to the traditional peoples belonging to local communities. Objective: to reflect on the construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric plant, analyzing the environmental impacts of the spatial reconfiguration caused by the UHE Belo Monte to the communities of the ASSURINI/ALTAMIRA-PÁ settlement. Methodology: we understand that this is an investigation that is based on a qualitative approach, since it is not simply concerned with the causes or consequences of a phenomenon, but with descriptions of its characteristics. Results: The realization of the proposed research is supported by the scarcity of works that address the issue of social, cultural and emotional liabilities. It is discussed, from the point of view of rural education and the impacts left by dams in the territories in which they are built. In these places, a large number of human rights are violated before, during and after construction, which cause direct and indirect damage to the traditional populations affected, who in their vast majority do not receive compensation for the damage suffered. Conclusion: The analysis showed the weakening of this instrument of environmental policy, due to the production of a deregulation of the rules established to license the work that was identified during the monitoring of the process. Reinforcing the argumentation of what was observed, the work analyzes elements and contents present in the speeches that prove the reproduction of the developmental ideology as a predominant vision in national policies for the Amazon. The result of this weakening will be reflected, in the form of institutionalized irresponsibility, on a broader set of rights present in the legal system and in the Brazilian democratic regime.

Introduction: corporate sustainability is not only a matter of adapting to market needs, but a determinant of the replacement of corporations in the midst of the competitive market and of survival in the midst of adversity. The Covid-19 pandemic was and is being another challenge for corporations that have had a very short time to adapt to sudden changes. Objective: to survey and analyze Circular Economy (EC) practices in the post-pandemic business scenario with a focus on a technological waste company installed in Manaus. Methodology: this is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research, with application of a questionnaire, bibliography and documents with data and content analysis. Results: We already have a well-organized legislation to direct the process, but we still have a lot to improve in terms of the greater availability of collection points and in relation to the awareness and environmental education of the population. The practices of the company Descarte Correto contribute to the reduction of regional poverty in order to give opportunities to the beneficiaries for a replacement in the job market and a fair and guaranteed income, as it transforms electronic waste into economic and socio-environmental benefits. Conclusion: the activity developed by the company Descarte Correto gained even more relevance in the context of the pandemic and there was an expansion of its activities in order to attend to traditional classes outside the classroom and work activities in the domestic environment. We already have a self-organized legislation (National Solid Waste Policy) to guide the process, but we still have a lot to improve in terms of greater availability of collection points and in relation to the population's environmental awareness and education.

It is a fact that mining activities are still active in the state of Pará and, within this context, there are also Preservation Areas, such as the Parque Nacional do Rio Novo. Therefore, the need for environmental monitoring of the aforementioned park is reinforced, aiming to evaluate the growth of mining exploitation, by means of Remote Sensing. For the development of the study, the images belonging to the Sentinel-2 satellite bands B02, B11 and B12 were used. The composition of these three bands enabled the visualization of exposed soils present in the region. After obtaining the images, their pre-processing was done and, with the detected data of exposed soil, the calculation of areas was done using the Spatial Analyst complement, available in the ArcGIS Pro 2.8 program, in metric projection, SIRGAS 2000, 21S zone. Subsequently, the information regarding exposed soils of the Parna do Rio Novo was obtained, made available on the deforestation detection platform MapBiomas Alerta, as well as the amount of existing mining processes, with the help of the SIGMINE platform, between November 2018 and November 2021. There were 7900 hectares of deforested areas in the entire area of the Rio Novo National Park, 276 hectares of areas with exposed soils in MapBiomas Alerta and 2150 hectares with mining permits in SIGMINE. Thus, we conclude by affirming that the Parna do Rio Novo is a region of great concern for environmental monitoring agencies, because it has great mineral wealth that attracts many workers, who develop illegal activities that damage the territory.

Reducing atmospheric environmental impacts from clean and efficient technologies results in improved conditions for the well-being of living beings. The search for simple equipment and technologies are essential to reduce environmental impacts and additional energy costs for the population, especially those with low incomes. This work aimed to propose an evaporative cooling system to improve wellbeing conditions. In the premises of the Laboratory of the Vocational Educational Center, units of cones made from pottery clay were made and tested by teachers and students, supported on a 3.00 mm PVC plate, previously moistened with distilled water until verification of percolation and positioned 10 cm in front of a conventional 4-blade fan for domestic use. The apparatus was tested in a hermetically closed environment, containing a volume of 3 m3 and measured in triplicate: Temperature (oC) and Relative Air Humidity (%) with the aid of 2 thermohygrometers in the external and internal environments for comparison with the presence of clay cones, and only with the fan for a predetermined time. The ambient Revista Multidisciplinar de Educação e Meio Ambiente DOI: 10.51189/iii-coninters/10387 ISSN: 2675-813X temperature inside the hood recorded an average of 27.2 °C before the tests. The results showed that there was a slight improvement in the environment, with a decrea se in ambient temperature by 7% and the air humidity increased by 18.4% with the presence of moistened clay cones (p<0.05). As it is a prototype and temperature and humidity are relatively normal to the climate of the region, it is recommended to test with higher ambient temperatures and for a longer time, to obtain more real and substantial evaluations.

Introduction: In the context of "tourist culture" of visitors in behavior alienated from the environment they visit they believe that they have no responsibility in preserving Revista Multidisciplinar de Educação e Meio Ambiente DOI: 10.51189/iii-coninters/11162 ISSN: 2675-813X nature and the originality of destinations. Thus, the quality of coastal environments that is often compromised by human actions, especially during the high tourist season. Objective: To analyze the environmental problem in Praia do Morro Branco, Beberibe-Ce, from the view of tourists who frequent the beach in the traveling behavior. Material and Methods: Qualitative and exploratory research with analysis of descriptive data of reviews of literary articles, online events and research on environmental issues on the beaches. It is also characterized as quantitative, carried out through a questionnaire applied and answered by 30 tourists of sun and beach, between the months of February and March of this year, who visited Praia do Morro Branco, as well as the local community. Results: It was found that issues such as environmental education and the social and environmental responsibility of the tents of Morro Branco beach in the behavior of its visitors is a reality in several beaches of the coast of Ceará. It is notorious the lack of attitudes towards environmental and sustainable education in the traveling behavior to keep the beach clean. In addition to ensuring the preservation of the beaches, since it is necessary that there is an efficient diagnosis of how to forward the terms of regularization, supervision and control of public policies on awareness for environmental education and lifestyles in harmony with nature. Conclusion: It is concluded with the present work that with less we can do more in favor of preservation, conservation, sustainability, biodiversity and in this case specifically for the cleaning of the beaches of the coast of Ceará. In addition, the valuation of this natural environment, and its rationalized use, enabling the implementation of regulatory instruments for the implementation of public and macroeconomic policies for the management of water resources in the thus making an improvement in the quality of the coastal zone of Ceará are necessary to maintain the attractiveness of resources for future generations.
