EVOLVING CONTEXT ON ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABILITY 环境教育和可持续发展的发展背景

Environmental Education (EE) is one of the best tools to achieve sustainability if it involves the communities in this context. The objective of this research was to identify the international and national evolution of environmental education in higher education institutions and the transmission of this knowledge to urban and rural communities. The method used was the qualitative one, which stimulates a greater expansion of knowledge about the dichotomy Environmental Education- Sustainability, from undergraduate and graduate courses whose approach was directed to this association. The data obtained and analyzed indicated that, in the higher education institutions, at both levels analyzed, this association is evolving. In Brazil, especially in the northern region, this dichotomy is expanding. It was also verified that there are already extension courses for the information or theoretical mechanisms to be put into practice by urban and rural communities. Another concern indicated that the rural zone, especially in the state of Amazonas, is already in the focus regarding the applications of environmental actions that induce sustainability from the faculty's knowledge. In the state of Tocantins, the sustainable logistics management project may yield good results if it is monitored and disseminated to the communities surrounding the campus of the Federal University of Tocantins. It was also verified that few HEIs, in the North region, are externalizing EE projects with a focus on sustainability, and are not yet united in environmental practices with the objective of seeking inter-institutional integration to achieve sustainability. With this, sustainability is being implemented in the productive processes from the increased sensitivity of users of natural resources, without compromising the economy and the dissemination of EE for this purpose.

Organic production presents itself as changes in habits in agricultural production modes. Since the benefits of organic production are significant both for those who produce and for final consumers. It is clear that the use of pesticides in Brazil has grown considerably, which results in a series of damages to human health, in addition to causing serious environmental impacts. It is imperative to rethink the methods and forms of management adopted in the production processes, in addition to making people aware that organic production allows a real improvement in the quality of life. The project aims to test two solutions of neem (Azadirachta indica) and tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) as a natural alternative to control aphids (Aphidoidea). It can be observed with the application of the two natural pesticides (neem and tobacco syrup) in the cultures of cabbage, arugula and chicory that both showed good efficiency in the control of aphids. However, it appears that the results differ from each other, since the tobacco syrup must have a superior efficiency in relation to the nor in the cabbage crop. In the arugula culture, the greatest efficiency was with the use of neem syrup. Finally, it was observed in chicory plants that alternative pesticides had the same efficiency. Due to the results obtained in the experiment, it is possible to state that natural pesticides based on neem and tobacco are efficient in controlling aphids (Aphidoidea).

A IMPORTÂNCIA DO ANZOL CIRCULAR PARA A SUSTENTABILIDADE NA ARTE DA PESCA DE ESPINHEL PELÁGICO 圆钩对远洋延绳钓艺术可持续性的重要性

Introduction: Currently, four out of the five species of sea turtles present in our Brazilian coastline are mentioned in the list of fauna threats of the International Union for Conservation of Nature – IUCN. Among the main sea turtle threats, we can certainly point out fishing activities, either in low or large scale, suggesting for the current paper the art of pelagic longline fishing gear. Objective: Sea turtles with the various interactions with fishing gear over time have directly contributed to the reduction of populations to levels almost impossible to maintain, with this, the current work aims to present the effectiveness and importance of the use of the hook circular for sustainability in the pelagic longline fishing gear with a strong reduction in incidental captures of sea turtles. Material and Methods: Having as main methodology the bibliographic review with records approached and historically reported by the TAMAR Project Foundation, it is considered that the pelagic longline has been considered worldwide the greatest threat related to fishing for the conservation of sea turtles that are attracted by the baits in thousands of hooks. in large stretches of kilometers of lines and with the intensification of fishing activities in recent decades, in addition to putting pressure on marine ecosystems, it has led to the record of high rates of incidental captures of sea turtles. Results: The TAMAR Center /Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation along with the TAMAR Project Foundation, has been monitoring the main fishing activities that interact with the sea turtles in several actions to minimize their incidental capture, being observed in years of research that the circular hook model reduces the capture of turtles by more than 60% and even so, if it is captured, the hook will fix in the animal's mouth, being possible to release it without much damage. Conclusion: Being the circle hook compulsory in pelagic longline fishing gear, implemented by Interministerial ordinance 74/November of 2017, it has become the main efficient method to reduce these incidental captures of the sea turtles with the art of pelagic longline fishing gear, bringing hope for responsible fishing in search of sustainability for the fishing business.

HIDROGEL DE POLIACRILAMIDA MODIFICADO COMO HIDRORETENTOR EM SOLO ARENOSO E ARGILOSO 改性聚丙烯酰胺水凝胶在沙土和粘土中的保湿剂

Agricultural productivity has reduced due to the drought. Hydrogels, substances that retain water in the soil, based on polyacrylamide (PAAm) have shown good results for some crops. This work aims to prepare a modified PAAm-based hydrogel and verify its effectiveness in sandy and clay soils at different dosages, in solid form mixed with the soil. The manufactured hydrogel was evaluated together with a commercial hydrogel. A physicochemical characterization of the manufactured hydrogel was performed to assess its ability to absorb water. The hydrogels, together with the soil, were introduced in PVC tubes in the following way: soil/soil + hydrogel/soil, with 0.50 or 1.50 g of hydrogel. Swelling analysis of the manufactured hydrogel suggests that it is a superabsorbent. The manufactured hydrogel swelled twice as much as the commercial hydrogel. The manufactured hydrogel was able to retain 150% more than the control for sandy soil. Compared with the commercial hydrogel, the manufactured hydrogel showed a higher water retention, mainly in sandy soil, 115% and 110% higher than the commercial hydrogel at the begin and end of the experiment, respectively. The manufactured hydrogel had its lowest efficiency in clay soil. The 1.50 g dosage of manufactured hydrogel retained 56% more water than the 0.50 g dosage in sandy soil. The effect of dosage was not very significant in clay soil. The manufactured hydrogel maintained its ability to retain water longer than the commercial hydrogel. The experimental model mimicked relatively well the real conditions of the soils to study the water absorption and retention capacity by the soils in the presence and absence of hydrogel.

Man finds in nature the basis for the evolution of techniques and the subsidy for its development. However, the capitalist logic, which commands the means of production and, thus, the way of life, is based on the commercialization of natural resources. The uniqueness and environmental fragility of the Golfão Maranhense region denotes the importance for the study of the environmental sustainability of the area. The objective of the present work is to highlight the environmental impacts on the Geodiversity of the municipality of Bacabeira caused by the installation of mineral exploration industries and the Premium I Refinery. Stages of the work provided support for carrying out the work under this methodological foundation. For the study, supervised classifications were carried out, based on information extracted from orbital images, which allowed the identification of transformations, among which the suppression of vegetation and the emergence of artificial lakes can be highlighted, with emphasis on the municipality of Bacabeira, the study area. The research showed that the premise of sustainability developed in the municipality does not set limits to the possibilities of growth, nor does it produce initiatives that permeate the existence of relevant and active interlocutors and social participants in educational practices, which reinforce the feeling of responsibility and the constitution of ethical values. towards the natural environment. In this sense, it is necessary to reflect on social practices and articulation of alternatives for environmental sustainability in a perspective that prioritizes the integrity of space, preservation of the environment in addition to social policies.

A IMPORTÂNCIA DO USO DE CINZAS DE RESÍDUOS URBANOS NA ECONOMIA CIRCULAR 城市垃圾灰在循环经济中的重要性

: After the industrial revolution, due to technological innovations, it was possible to increase productivity and the total volume produced and consequently the increase in waste. The linear method of production is based on the increasing extraction of natural resources, in which products from these resources are used until they are discarded as waste, generating an increasing volume of waste especially in urban areas. The objective of this study was to identify the products and inputs generated from the ash in the process of incineration of hospital and industrial waste, enabling the generation of raw material for new products used in the industry, especially in civil construction, such as: reuse of ash from urban solid waste (MSW) for cement and concrete, red ceramic, concrete block and dry mechanical treatment of incineration slag. Incineration, in addition to contributing to the National Solid Waste Policy, in reducing waste and recycling contributes to the generation of thermal and electrical energy and collaborates with sustainability leveraging the circular economy with less waste reflecting in the environment in conscious and sustainable consumption. The reduction in waste generation reduces the need for sanitary landfills and shows itself as an alternative to meet a growing demand for urban waste. The circular economy comes to show that it is possible to include new opportunities in the production cycle of the product with diversification of raw materials and waste inputs generated. The incentive to selective collection can and should contribute to sustainability, seeking an efficient management in the generation of urban waste.

Environmental education helps the population to become aware of its role in the local and global context, and innovation in the planning and execution of environmental education actions allows more and more possibilities. The Municipality of Campo Grande-MS has been running an integrated development program since 2017 to promote the revitalization of the central area, and one of the criteria is the implementation of an environmental education program with the purpose of promoting citizenship and the appropriation of space. urban population by the population benefiting from the interventions, workers in the central region and the population in general. The present work aims to present a case report, as a methodological proposal for the planning and execution of integrated environmental education actions and of multiple typologies from an analysis of the applied form for the development of the Environmental Education Program under study, and , it is possible to systematize it in some key steps, which structure all actions, such as: mapping of external bodies and institutions that have attributions linked to environmental education, in accordance with the interface areas of the interventions foreseen in the revitalization of the center , the identification of the main environmental aspects related to the interventions and works, as well as their interface with environmental education, the constitution of a working group made official by municipal regulations, the elaboration with participatory methodologies of an action plan, defining goals and schedule, the sharing of specific information about the works and interventions with the agents multiplier entities that are part of the group, through lectures and technical visits, and the development of mechanisms to monitor its execution. From the present case report, it is possible to verify an effective methodological proposal that allows its re-application in similar projects, safeguarding the necessary adaptations to the different contexts and specificities identified.

Introduction: The challenges posed by a climate crisis are gaining worldwide attention and organizations are under strong pressure to create sustainability strategies to respond to stakeholders in an ethical and responsible manner. Objective: In order to understand the actions taken by companies to mitigate the climate crisis, this study sought to answer the following research questions: (i) What are the strengths and weaknesses of the main sustainability actions taken by companies in the context of changes weather? (ii) What are the main opportunities and threats for climate crisis mitigation? Materials and Methods : Methodologically, a systematic review was carried out in the Web of Science, Scopus, Science Direct and Redalyc databases using the Methodi Ordinatio tool. The reference managers Mendeley and JabRef were also used in this research for the selection and filtering of studies. A total of 22 articles made up the study portfolio. Results: The results were framed according to the design of the SWOT Matrix, considering the strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and threats in the particular context. Conclusion: Considering the strengths, it is observed that there is a concern of organizations with climate change, however, a major weakness is the lack of transparency in the preparation of sustainability reports. Among the threats, pressure from stakeholders is mentioned, and as opportunities, investments in technological innovations and the development of new markets stand out. This analysis based on the SWOT matrix not only creates a holistic assessment of the problem but can also assist in the development and direction of organizational strategies for preventing and adapting to climate change.

SUSTENTABILIDADE: A MÁQUINA DE OXIGÊGINO DO MUNDO 可持续发展:世界上的氧气机器

Introdução: Quando falamos de sustentabilidade é necessário estabelecer conceitos e formas de analisar o quanto ela está desenvolvida e aplicada. Além disso, é importante identificar que o meio em que vivemos está sendo modificado, de forma que no mínimo podemos dizer dificultará em muito nossa pequena existência. Objetivo: Tendo isso em vista o principal objetivo é mostrar como a sustentabilidade pode ser uma ferramenta muito favorável para tentar enfrentar e converter esse futuro distópico. Além disso será possível ver sobre como uma sociedade pode se tornar sustentável e como melhorara as condições de vida em sociedades que ainda estão subdesenvolvidas uma vez que devem conseguir um jeito de conciliar a economia com essa visão sustentável. Materiais e métodos: Existiram muitas tentativas de criar um método de identificar níveis de sustentabilidade no ambiente, desde uma análise mais refinada do PIB até a criação de um conceito unicamente voltado para análise ambiental. Além desse problema existe uma dificuldade em aceitarem a relação entre economia e sustentabilidade uma vez que esse é o principal argumento de quem se coloca contra à ideia de um mundo sustentável, afirmando que um mundo sustentável não manteria a economia em curso. Por fim depois de resolver esses problemas é necessário falar sobre como transformar uma sociedade comum em uma sociedade sustentável, e ao redor do mundo existem alguns exemplos de cidades a ser seguidas que investiram em tópicos como: transporte público; consumo de energia de fonte renovável e consciência de educação ambiental da população. Resultados: Por mais que muitas tentativas não foi possível criar um bom método para identificar níveis de sustentabilidade dificultando todo o resto do processo. Sobre economia e sustentabilidade é possível não só estabelecer um equilíbrio, mas gerar grande economia por meio desse conceito de sustentabilidade. E o ultimo problema as sociedades sustentáveis não existem hoje porém existem sociedades que são exemplos e que estão quase sendo as primeiras a inaugurar esse conceito. Conclusão: Por fim conclui-se que é sim possível estabelecer os ideais de sustentabilidade, mas tem que ter resolvido em mãos os tópicos: Um identificador, economia X sustentabilidade e aplicação.

Objetivo: Tendo isso em vista o principal objetivo é mostrar como a sustentabilidade pode ser uma ferramenta muito favorável para tentar enfrentar e converter esse futuro distópico. Além disso será possível ver sobre como uma sociedade pode se tornar sustentável e como melhorara as condições de vida em sociedades que ainda estão subdesenvolvidas uma vez que devem conseguir um jeito de conciliar a economia com essa visão sustentável. Materiais e métodos: Existiram muitas tentativas de criar um método de identificar níveis de sustentabilidade no ambiente, desde uma análise mais refinada do PIB até a criação de um conceito unicamente voltado para análise ambiental. Além desse problema existe uma dificuldade em aceitarem a relação entre economia e sustentabilidade uma vez que esse é o principal argumento de quem se coloca contra à ideia de um mundo sustentável, afirmando que um mundo sustentável não manteria a economia em curso. Por fim depois de resolver esses problemas é necessário falar sobre como transformar uma sociedade comum em uma sociedade sustentável, e ao redor do mundo existem alguns exemplos de cidades a ser seguidas que investiram em tópicos como: transporte público; consumo de energia de fonte renovável e consciência de educação ambiental da população. Resultados: Por mais que muitas tentativas não foi possível criar um bom método para identificar níveis de sustentabilidade dificultando todo o resto do processo. Sobre economia e sustentabilidade é possível não só estabelecer um equilíbrio, mas gerar grande economia por meio desse conceito de sustentabilidade. E o ultimo problema as sociedades sustentáveis não existem hoje porém existem sociedades que são exemplos e que estão quase sendo as primeiras a inaugurar esse conceito.
