Kansei Decision Tree: Proposal of a Modeling Method for Decision-making Processes 感性决策树:一种决策过程建模方法的建议

This study proposes a method of modeling a decision-making process using the decision tree. A simulation experiment was conducted to collect cases of decision making. Then, a modeling method using the decision tree was applied to the experimental results. The obtained decision tree enabled the authors to visually identify the differences in Kansei depending on the person. Finally, the authors compared and examined the differences in the number of nodes in the decision tree according to whether there was a particular attachment to the products. The results confirmed that the differences in Kansei were reflected in the differences in the structure of the decision tree. Using this Kansei decision tree method, it was possible to extract and quantitatively evaluate the factors that influence its structure. This was attained by expressing the Kansei decision-making process using the decision tree and comparing its structure.

Comparing the Features of the Diffuse Alpha Pattern with the Normal Alpha Pattern using Wavelet-crosscorrelation Analysis 用小波互相关分析比较漫射α图象与正常α图象的特征

: In some individuals, alpha waves appear in many regions of the brain, and this is considered abnormal electroencephalography (EEG). This phenomenon is known as diffuse alpha pattern. This study aims to extract and compare the features of the connectivity between the parts of the brain. The EEGs of healthy individuals and mental disorder patients with the diffuse alpha pattern were analyzed using wavelet-crosscorrelation analysis. Five epochs of 2 seconds were analyzed for each subject. Wavelet-crosscorrelation coefficients were calculated for frequencies in the alpha band for all epochs in each subject. The results showed that the WCC values were higher in the patients with diffuse alpha. The highest wavelet power spectra in the alpha band of the patients occurred at a lower frequency. Our results suggest that the connectivity strength along the sagittal and occipital orientations in the brain of the patients could be stronger than healthy individuals.

Comprehending Security through Shannon’s Communication Model 从香农的通信模型理解安全性

: Security in almost every field has often been implemented in a haphazard manner because a systematic approach has not yet been developed. To address this problem, we propose a context insensitive definition of security from a phenomenological perspective as well as its mathematical model through which we can understand the essence of security. Formalized syntax on security can be viewed as maintaining smooth operations even in the face of disturbances. Applying information theory to this syntax, we derive a mathematical model applicable to any situation where the term “security” appears and can understand what security is. Syntactic similarity between communication and security allows us to understand the essence of security and also to quantify security. These understandings free security from ad-hoc ways or best practices, limited to a single domain and not well-defined, depending on the Kansei, or intuition of the person in charge.

Quantitative Evaluation to Investigate Further Tendency of Obtaining Potential Appropriate Respondents to Questions at Q&A Sites 定量评价,以进一步调查获得潜在的合适的受访者在问答网站的问题的趋势

In order to eliminate mismatches between the intentions of questioners and respondents of Question and Answer (Q&A) sites, nine factors of impressions for statements have experimentally been obtained. Factor scores have been then estimated by using the feature values of statements. So far the possibility of detecting respondents who can appropriately answer a newly posted question has been established for several categories e.g. Auction, PC, etc. It has been shown that the distance and the number of appearance could lead to selecting users who are able to appropriately answer a question. In order to inspect these tendencies, this paper tries to find the possibility of detecting appropriate respondents by adding respective eight question statements for each of the nine categories. As a result of analysis, the tendencies that particular several users are apt to appear in each category has been verified. Meanwhile, several different outstanding tendencies have been also observed.

A Method to Obtain Effective Attributes for Attractive Cosmetic Bottles by Deep Learning 一种基于深度学习的化妆品瓶身有效属性获取方法

: Kansei values are critical factors for manufacturing. Kawaii, an adjective that denotes such positive meanings as cute or lovable, has become even more critical as a kansei value. Therefore, we believe that kawaii will be a key factor in future product design. We focus on systematic study for kawaii products in terms of such physical attributes as color, shape, and material perception. In this research, we proposed a method to obtain effective attributes for kawaii cosmetic bottles. First, we collected evaluation results of the kawaii of cosmetic bottle images and constructed a model using deep learning. Then we modified the images focusing on particular attributes and evaluated them using our model to obtain effective attributes. Finally, we verified those attributes by experimentally evaluating the modified images. The novelty of this research is our new method to obtain effective attributes, which can be applied to other products and other kansei values.

The Effects of Aroma on Product Experience 香气对产品体验的影响

: To investigate how smell would affect the product experience, the present study chose the aromas of sweet orange and peppermint as the starting point of the product experience of the orange-shaped lego-like toy blocks. It was found that the aroma of sweet orange would lead to the highest degree of liking for the aroma, evoke images or expectations closer to the reality of the toy blocks, and relieve the fatigue of the participants after they directly smelled it. And the aroma of peppermint was found to moderate the tension caused by the blocks-building task and contribute to maintaining participants’ vigor. Notwithstanding, the aromas did not have noticeable effects on people’s degrees of liking for the toy blocks and their evaluations of the product due to the sensory dominance in the multisensory product experience. The potential roles of aromas in product experience remain to be investigated.

Impression-Based Music Playlist Generation Method for Placing the Listener in a Positive Mood 基于印象的音乐播放列表生成方法,使听者处于积极的情绪中

: This paper proposes an impression-based music playlist generation method with musical diversity and serendipity to positively impact the mood of a listener. The method designs two types of playlists with smooth transitions for audio track impressions: mood-boosting (uplifting) and mood-stabilizing (relaxing). Both these impressions have four patterns with different structures that alter the listener’s mood. To create a playlist, the proposed method calculates the probability of impressions for all audio tracks using a multinomial mixture model adopting a Bayesian approach and chooses audio tracks based on these probabilities. This study uses two psychometric evaluations to evaluate sample playlists for all four patterns of both playlists, i.e., whether they can positively influence a Japanese listener’s mood. The results indicate that the proposed method can achieve both these objectives concerning the audio tracks.

These inefficiencies have caused time loss and cost and interfered with market expansion. This fact strongly prompted us to study which physical features of metallic prints induce the metallic taste and then construct the index. We now suggest a metallic taste index (MTI) possessing a linear correlation with the perceived magnitude. To construct the index, we focused on the lightness distribution of the reflection as a feature of the unique metallic appearance. Figure 1 a)-b) shows a comparison of the lightness distribution property between the common colors and metallic colors. Regarding the common colors, almost all the incident light is reflected as diffuse light and the distribution becomes nearly isotropic. Evaluation of Stress Situation of Female Nurses Working in Wards Based on the Survey Data 基于调查数据的病区女护士压力状况评价

: In this study, the Brief Job Stress Questionnaire (BJSQ) survey data obtained from 927 female nurses were analyzed through two-group comparisons of high and low stressors, stress response, support, and satisfaction level, and through four-group comparisons of different family structures focusing on the marital and child status. Moreover, covariant structure analyses using the Multiple Indicators Multiple Causes (MIMIC) model was performed. Results revealed that individuals with high stressors had high-stress responses and low support. By contrast, individuals with high levels of satisfaction had low stressors, low-stress responses, and high support. Next, between the four groups based on family structure, significant differences were observed in stressors, such as “low degree of job control” and in stress responses, such as “physical complaints.” In the MIMIC model, the “status of stress” was mainly dominated by stressor factors compared to support factors.

Adjusting Impression of Warning Alert by Optimizing Sound Effectors Using Interactive Differential Evolution 利用交互差分进化优化声效器调整预警印象

: Warning alerts are used in situations of the earthquake and so on. In these cases, the warning impression for people is needed to quickly take shelter; however, it sometimes also affords uncomfortableness. The purpose of this study is to propose an Interactive Evolutionary Computation which adjusts the impression of the warning alert by using a set of sound effectors. The target of the search is the appropriate parameters of the effectors on the Earthquake Early Warning alert. Differential Evolution (DE) is used as an evolutionary algorithm, and the efficiency of the Interactive DE for adjusting the impression was investigated through a listening experiment. In the search step, the subjects compared two alerts and selected a better one repeatedly. In the evaluation step, the subjects evaluated the created alerts and the original alert. The results showed a significant increase in fitness by the proposed Interactive DE and effective search processes.
