We introduce the distributed data processing method for IoT using a cloud computer and multiple sensor nodes for image data. Specifically, we devised the implementation method for the distributed execution environment of the image data processing algorithms, and developed the prototype system. As a result, we were able to evaluate the scalable processing system on small and medium-sized hardware, by using our implementation method and environment, and realize enough capability and low-cost system on the system of several small-scale IoT devices.

A wireless power transfer system using multilayer flat spiral coils is constructed in this paper. The multilayer flat spiral coil can deliver power highly efficiently, being used in the resonator coupling WPT system. Thus, three structures of inductive coil are displayed in order to compare the benefits of the multilayer flat spiral coil. The second part describes three structures of the coils and the basic system. Moreover, the system with these pairs of coils is simulated by the MAXWELL and SIMPLORER. And the results show the advantages of the multilayer flat spiral coil directly which can bring high transfer efficiency and stable transfer.

Digital watermarking has been considered a solution for copyright protection applications. Our research on audio watermarking has led to the development of a novel technique that uses two wavelet filters and our technique has been shown to successfully satisfy the Information Hiding and its Criteria for evaluation (IHC) criteria. This paper describes our study that extended our audio watermarking technique and applied it to images. We conducted an experiment that used our technique to process image data at the IHC website and analyzed our data using Matlab. The results indicate that our technique is a valid approach to image watermarking.

In this paper, we proposed an image segmentation circuit design for imitated light field image. The proposed circuit adopts cell-based IC design to perform real time image segmentation operation for imitated light field image. The presented chip achieves 95.2 frames per second under 100 MHz and provides high quality images.

This work presents a system for point-of-care testing of urine quality through conductivity and pH. The conductometric system consists of a DDS sine-wave generator, current source and instrumentation amplifiers. The potentiometric readout consists of a floating bridge-type CVCC circuit with transmission gates for interfacing with FET-based sensor arrays. Temperature and offset compensation with EGFET stabilization have been incorporated alongside calibration. The system has been interfaced to Atmega328 MCU and to a wifi wireless module - ESP8266 for data logging. The system's readout has shown high correlation with a standard meter using CaCl2 solutions, KCl, NaCl, pH buffers and urine samples.

Video surveillance is being used in many fields, specifically, for detecting suspicious activity in public places, such as shopping malls. Due to an increase in the number of installed surveillance cameras, personal privacy infringement is likely to increase. Therefore, we had proposed a video surveillance system for protecting an individuals privacy. However, there had been little study done related to its use in the real environment, i.e., a crowded environment. In this study, we propose a scheme for protecting the privacy in crowded environments using dithering technique and robust watermarking.

This paper proposes a drowsiness-fatigue-detection (DFD) system for improving road safety, which consists of a wearable smart glasses, an in-vehicle infotainment system (a vehicular telematics device), an automotive diagnostic bridge, and a cloud-based platform, etc. The proposed DFD system can real-time detect driver's state for drowsiness or fatigue. When detecting drowsiness or fatigue situation occurrence, thus the rear lights of the vehicle will automatically be flickered and message will be sent to the cloud-based platform, concurrently. Hence, the proposed system can effectively achieve the purpose of road safety improvement.

We evaluated the masking performance of the prototype super-directive masking system that uses a parametric speaker to steer a directional masker beam towards the head of the subject to be masked (maskee). The parametric speaker is placed on an iRobot-like platform (turtlebot), and tracks the maskee using the Kinect sensor. We compared the masking performance (intelligibility decrease) of the prototype system with a conventional masking system using loudspeakers, and found them to be comparable. Moreover, the prototype maintains the range of the masking noise to a narrow beam, thereby not annoying surrounding listeners with increased noise levels.

We propose a HEMS Printer that prints smart home-related information on small pieces of paper on demand. Triggered by entrance door motion, demand-response signals, or error signals from home appliances, it prints electricity saving information, upcoming schedules, coupons of nearby stores (to encourage "cool sharing"), maps of repair shops, and so on. Our device is essentially a portable thermal printer with one LED illuminated button. The LED blinks when some information is ready. Pressing the button prints a slip of paper similar to a receipt. The main advantages of our system is its simplicity, portability and disposability of the paper, and low mental burden.

In recent years the robot has come to be more familiar for people. In particular, the development of a communication robot working in the life space of human have attracted much attention. There are many researches for communication robots have been undertaken, mainly robot's performing reaction for the action received from the user. We are developing awareness motion of robot to induce the user's action. By controlling the movement timing appropriately, humans can easily talk with robots. According to sensitivity evaluation, we have identified an appropriate timing of robot's awareness motion.
