A Polyphase nonlinear equalization architecture and semi-blind identification method 一种多相非线性均衡体系及半盲辨识方法

In this paper, we present an architecture and semi-blind identification method for a polyphase nonlinear equalizer (pNLEQ). Such an equalizer is useful for extending the dynamic range of time-interleaved analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). Our proposed architecture is a polyphase extension to other architectures that partition the Volterra kernel into small nonlinear filters with relatively low computational complexity. Our semi-blind identification technique addresses important practical concerns in the equalizer identification process. We describe our architecture and demonstrate its performance with measured results when applied to a National Semiconductor ADC081000.

Interference channels with source/destination cooperation 干扰源/目的合作信道

In most wireless communication networks, nodes are fitted with radios that can both transmit and receive. This sets up the possibility of cooperation among the nodes. To study the role of cooperation in interference management, we consider a two-user linear deterministic interference channel where the source/destination nodes can both talk and listen. We focus on the symmetric channel with nodes operating in full-duplex. We characterize the sum capacity exactly. This reveals a reciprocity between the cases where the sources cooperate and the destinations cooperate.

Probabilistically constrained robust power allocation in downlink multiuser MISO systems 下行多用户MISO系统的概率约束鲁棒功率分配

We consider the problem of robust power control in a downlink system. The base station (BS) is equipped with an antenna array and users have single antennas. The robustness addresses the problem of imperfect channel state information (CSI) at the BS. The CSI mismatch is assumed to be Gaussian. An algorithm for robust power allocation is designed to minimize the total transmit power while simultaneously satisfying predefined users' quality-of-service targets with certain probabilities. The solution is found to be significantly less conservative comparing to the strategies based on worst-case optimization.

Quantization for distributed detection under link outages 链路中断下分布式检测的量化

In this paper, we address the design of binary sensor quantizers for decentralized detection in wireless sensor networks (WSN). The objective is to develop robust quantizers in the events of link outages and/or sensor failures for a K-sensor fusion model (K > 2). To this end, we propose two different design procedures. The first is formulated as a constrained optimization problem and achieves guaranteed performance given any subset of local decisions available at a fusion center. The second approach is a channel-aware design using an explicit erasure channel model, which provides a balanced detection performance under transmission loss. We show that for both designs the optimal quantizers are in the forms of likelihood ratio tests. The corresponding thresholds can be determined through iterative algorithms. We further demonstrate that the channel-aware approach is more practical and suitable for large-scale WSN applications in terms of low implementation complexity.

Generalized relaying in the presence of interference 有干扰时的广义继电

Capacity gains from cooperation in a network with two source-destination pairs and a relay are analyzed. Scenarios in which the relay decodes both messages are considered. An achievable rate region is derived and evaluated for Gaussian channels. A simple encoding scheme is employed that does not include rate-splitting at the encoders and/or the relay. The obtained results demonstrate the gains from interference forwarding in certain scenarios: the relay optimally splits its power between sending the desired message and the interference. Thus, instead of only message forwarding, the relay uses some of its power to facilitate interference cancelation at the destination node.

Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems enhance reliability and improve throughput for a given total transmit power. In actual systems, the channel and noise parameters must be estimated to capture the MIMO gains. In this paper, we couple a direct, q-ary Galois field [GF(q)], low-density parity-check (LDPC) space-time coding and modulation scheme with a receiver that iterates between decoding the transmitted symbols, estimating the convolutive MIMO channel with pilots and symbol decisions, and removing inter-symbol interference. The result is a powerful system that outperforms linear space-time equalization and performs within one decibel of a system with perfect channel knowledge and no inter-symbol interference.

We address the problem of precoding and equalisation of broadband MIMO systems. A new non-block based methods is based on a broadband singular value decomposition, which can decouple a broadband MIMO channel into independent dispersive SISO subchannels. We thereafter apply Tomlinson-Harashima precoding to mitigate the dispersiveness of these SISO subchannels. We present arguments why this is a suitable approach compared to existing methods, underlined by some simulation results.
