We present the main reasons involved in the introduction of species into new geographical areas, and the impact of their presence in the environment, ecosystems and human welfare. Exotic insects of order Diptera are extremely important from the social and economic point of view. A preliminary commented list of 22 species of invasive flies and mosquitoes of medical and veterinary importance in Mexico, and their possible impacts to health, economy and ecosystem conservation is presented. We explain the importance of taxonomy, faunistic studies, and entomological surveillance in the country, with special interest on borders to detect, control or limit their distributions.

Under greenhouse conditions, seedlings quality of Leucaena esculenta selected progenies were evaluated. In this sense, in 2017 the plant growth was analyzing according to tree progenies and age after sowing, AAS, using analysis of variance and mean tests (Duncan, 0.05). The progenies and AAS showed separately significant differences (p ≤ 0.0001) in morphological variables and leaf area. Quality indexes showed significant differences between trees (progenies) and AAS, where tree 9 had the highest Dickson Index (4.54 ± 3.03). According to plant quality indexes, it concludes that seedlings from tree 7 were the best with the highest values of the morphological variables.

Se describen las prácticas de conservación de suelo realizadas por nueve agricultores de Santa Cruz Moxolahuac, Puebla, México, a partir del modelo teórico transaccional (Holahan, 2006). Se aplicaron dos técnicas de investigación: observación sistematizada para medir los componentes ambiental y conductual, y encuesta para medir el componente psicológico. Los resultados son clasificados en tres tipos de incongruencias, las cuales provocan que no se alcance la resiliencia en los sistemas agrícolas. Por ello, la propuesta de intervención socioambiental sería lograr la correspondencia entre las necesidades ambientales que presenta el sistema agrícola y los conocimientos, las actitudes y los comportamientos cotidianos del agricultor respecto a sus prácticas de conservación de suelo.

Se analiza la incidencia del tipo de cáncer y sus principales manifestaciones en la etapa terminal mediante la minería de datos. Se analizaron 288 datos de 22 pacientes, los cuales proporcionó la unidad de cuidados paliativos del Hospital Regional 1° de Octubre. Las variables evaluadas fueron género, año, edad, diagnóstico y síntoma. Para la clasificación se utilizó el algoritmo J48 correspondiente al algoritmo C4.5. La mayor incidencia de mortalidad, de acuerdo con el tipo de cáncer, se da en el de pulmón, colon, recto, mama y el de próstata. En cuanto al dolor, se presenta en mayor medida en pacientes jóvenes, mientras que en pacientes de 65 años o menos 39% y sólo en 23% de los restantes.

The micro-credit implies the granting of small loans in the hope of achieving the development of business units through financial institutions in the peripheral Peruvian population. In this context, the objective of the article is to determine the relationship between micro-credit and the development of micro-enterprises in rural areas. 278 women micro-entrepreneurs were interviewed, the data collection instrument was subjected to a validity by expert judgments with a coefficient of agreement of 97% and Cronbach’s internal alpha consistency of 0.90. The results obtained show that the super woman’s micro-credit has a direct and significant relationship with the development of micro-enterprises in rural areas according to the Spearman’s Correlation coefficient (rho 0.84, Sig. 0.000*).

La metodología empleada fue con base en diversos datos bibliográficos y estadísticos sobre el caso mexicano. A manera de conclusión, se plantean ocho medidas para superar esos retos y fortalecer la democracia que se vive cotidianamente en los procesos electorales.

This work corresponds to a case study in the social sciences, and is based on the experience of two farmers who work in the field and who are committed to respect the environment. When the food production is used looking for the generation of income as the main objective, it attacks nature. Here we demonstrate that there can be compatibility between profits and ecological respect when good soil management practices and adequate administrative techniques are applied.

A pedestrian detector is provided with the algorithm models of active shape (ASM), with the stages: training (PDM) and adjustment (ASM). With PDM, 50 landmarks are marked, and gray profiles are extracted in the silhouette of each pedestrian in 137 images (pedestrian1 and pedestrian2) applying the variation modes (PCA). The contribution of this work is the adjustment and detection of a pedestrian despite the variations. At the end, the results evaluated with leave one out in each 1 080 × 720 pixels image and with the mean square error (MSE) metric, a total average of 12.7 pixels is obtained in the error distance between the original landmarks and the estimated landmarks.

We find and discuss the non-autonomous soliton solutions in the case of variable nonlinearity and dispersion implied by the Ginzburg-Landau equation with variable coefficients. In this work we obtain non-autonomous Ginzburg-Landau solitons from the standard autonomous Ginzburg-Landau soliton solutions using a simplified version of the He-Li mapping. We find soliton pulses of both arbitrary and fixed amplitudes in terms of a function constrained by a single condition involving the nonlinearity and the dispersion of the medium. This is important because it can be used as a tool for the parametric manipulation of these non-autonomous solitons.

El estudio de bases de datos escolares es un área que ha sido poco estudiada y cuestionada desde el punto de vista de la minería de datos o la inteligencia artificial, actualmente, existen algunos trabajos que muestran su procesamiento mediante algoritmos de aprendizaje automático o “inteligentes”, sin embargo, no se detienen a analizar la pertinencia de procesar datos cualitativos como si fueran cuantitativos. En este trabajo, se estudia este problema con el uso de tres modelos de red neuronal. Los resultados evidencian la capacidad de estos modelos para clasificar con un alto grado de acierto tendencias en los estudiantes, utilizando principalmente datos cualitativos.
