Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is a concept that is shifting network functions from dedicated hardware to software known as Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) running on commodity hardware. The deployment and operational behavior requirements of VNF are described by a deployment template called VNF Descriptor (VNFD). In order to deploy a new VNF, operators and VNF vendors have to manually prepare a VNFD template which may have typos and unexpected errors. To overcome this tedious and error-prone task, we propose a VNFD generator web application to automatically create a VNFD template that the operators and VNF vendors can quickly validate and deploy the VNFs. The experiment is conducted in Tacker, which is an open-source NFV management and orchestration service in the OpenStack cloud platform, to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed web application.

Digital signage is evolving to smart signage which provides personalized service by adaptively changing contents according to the user context. However, previous smart signage services have difficulty to expend their service because it is not easy to connect additional sensing devices. Furthermore, previous smart signage systems only consider single signage for a service. In this paper, we propose IoT based smart signage platform. The proposed platform provides IoT based connectivity between sensors and signage platform for flexible service extension. Also, we suggest IoT based signage connection, status sensing, and controlling. Therefore, our platform can make a service group of siganges dynamically and enables signages to collaborate for a service in wide area. To show the performance of proposed platform, we implemented smart nursing home service. The service shows that IoT devices and signages can be connected to the platform dynamically and collaborate together for a service in wide area.

In the uplink massive MIMO systems, linear minimum mean square error (MMSE) algorithm can achieve near-optimal performance in combination with a soft iterative decoder, but suffers from high computational complexity due to the complicated matrix inversion. To approximate the performance of the classical MMSE detection algorithm, a number of iterative methods were proposed with reduced complexity by eliminating the matrix inversion. However, in order to apply these methods to coded systems with soft iterative decoders the post-equalization signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (PE-SINR) should be calculated in each layer to produce soft output values. In this paper, we propose to approximate the PE-SINR in each layer with a universal value calculated at the base station (BS), and apply symbol mapping techniques to the estimation of soft output in each layer to further reduce the computational complexity. The simulation results demonstrate that the detection algorithm with the proposed PE-SINR calculation approach achieves approximating performance to the conventional methods.

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the top 10 causes of death in the world and is a major health threat in the developing countries. There are two ways to reduce death from tuberculosis. One is rapid and accurate diagnosis and the other is DOTS (Directly observed treatment, short-course), which is the tuberculosis (TB) control strategy recommended by the World Health Organization. In this paper, we propose the AI algorithm for the effective management of the tuberculosis patient by using DOTS. For this purpose, we used the patient's real time medication data. Additionally, we divided two phased for the prediction of medication adherence, one is the screening phase and the other is the medication monitoring phase. We think that is a way to reduce the overall cost of treating tuberculosis patients.

This paper addresses the cross-layer design of error-control protocols with rate adaptation for free-space optical (FSO) burst transmission over atmospheric turbulence channels. In particular, sliding window automatic repeat request (ARQ) protocols are designed so that the window size is determined by the burst duration. This facilitates an effective operation of sliding window protocols with the adaptive rate (AR) transmission over the strong atmospheric turbulence channels. To analyze the performance of the design, the time-varying behavior of the atmospheric turbulence channels, modeled the popular Gamma-Gamma (ΓΓ) distribution, is captured by a finite Markov chain. The channel model is then used to develop the burst error model for the cross-layer performance analysis of sliding window protocol with AR transmission. Numerical results quantitatively demonstrate the impact of atmospheric turbulence on the system performance, and support the optimal selection of system parameters over turbulence conditions. Monte Carlo simulations are also performed to validate the analytical results.

UAV based communication is gaining more and more interest in both research and industry. On top of all benefits gained by using UAVs, we investigate in this paper the effect of using UAV communication on the user experienced latency in cellular systems. In particular, we focus on the queuing delay component of latency, and compare the resulting delay when using a UAV base station as compared to a standard ground base station. Numerical results show the advantage of using UAVs in reducing the delay due to the enhanced LOS in the channel, even at a fraction of the transmit power used. Moreover, the results show the need to optimize the height of the UAV based on the user location.

For the renewable energy business, technologies that can maximize energy efficiency such as energy information collection, energy management and operation, and economic analysis are needed. You need to be able to calculate thorough economic analysis and profit before you need it. It is necessary to be able to analyze the present energy demand to predict the future demand, and to be able to calculate the energy production requirement based thereon. In this way, it is necessary to be able to estimate the facilities considering economic efficiency and calculate the economic benefit for each region. For this, this paper shows ESS Simulation based on PV Generation Prediction.

Internet of Things (IoT) has the most significance in the intelligent healthcare service provision because of the wealth of data from disparate sources. By using the applications and tools of the IoT and web of data we can collect large of data and provide better care and monitoring services to the patients while reducing the cost and time. Depressive disorder (DD) is a common disease worldwide and it is estimated by the World Health Organization that in 2020, depression will be the largest medical burden on the society and government expenditures. To reduce the depression period is the important aspect for the practitioner psychiatric by using cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). To reduce cost and time we proposed an IoT based CBT system based on Web of Objects (WoO) data-driven microservices. We used data-driven microservices for the depressive person data accumulation, representation and assistance services. We also used semantically interoperable data representation microservices for IoT based DD symptoms monitoring. Our proposed model and use case scenario significance show that this approach is useful for the DD assistance and care.

The purpose of this study is to develop selection standards of maker education teaching aids. As experience-based education and software education become popular, maker education has been attracting attention. In maker education, teaching aids are very important element of maker education. However, there has been little attention on selection standards of maker education teaching aids. In this paper, selection standards of maker education teaching aids are proposed and developed. Based on extensive literature review work, a new form of selection standards is proposed. Also, after extensive survey work, final selection standards are developed. The proposed standards are expected to provide comprehensive and integrated standards in selecting teaching aids for elementary and secondary schools.
