Personal Sensory VR interface Utilizing Wearable Technology 利用可穿戴技术的个人感官VR界面

Current wearable technology centered on medical and healthcare fields has grown, and various types of controllers are being developed along with the development of virtual reality interfaces. Nevertheless, commercialized controllers cannot yet deliver a variety of sensory information to users in virtual reality (VR) environments as they are still providing haptic vibration level information. To convey a high sense of immersion through the presence of users in the virtual environment, a personal sensory VR system focusing on the user's touch is proposed in this study. Emogle is a personal haptic VR interface that is worn on the user's hand and was developed to deliver various types of sensory information through vibration, thermal emotion, wind, and electrical stimulation in a VR environment.

IoTivity-Lite: Comprehensive IoT Solution In A Constrained Memory Device ioactivity - lite:受限内存设备中的全面物联网解决方案

IoT is a concept that many people have been talking and thinking about in the names of ubiquitous or sensor networks. Recently, it has become concrete and requires D2S for external control as well as D2D. More features are required, but on the contrary, less memory is required for use on small things. To meet these requirements, we have made a number of efforts and compared it with existing solutions. We have developed a comprehensive IoT solution that enables D2D and D2S connectivity and control over the cloud, but memory is still being used less. We named it IoTivity-Lite, will introduce and propose in this paper.

Mitigating Journaling Overhead via Atomic Write 通过原子写减少日志开销

Many file systems make use of the journaling mechanism for maintaining crash consistency. However, journaling incurs double writes, which degrades performance and storage lifetime, becoming a serious concern especially on the endurance-limited NAND flash memory based storage. In this paper, we propose a new consistency maintenance mechanism that exploits the atomic write operation supported by modern storage such as NVMe SSD and transactional flash. In specific, we design two components, 1) an atomic handler that tracks multiple blocks required to be written atomically at the file system level and 2) an atomic controller that issues an I/O command in a transactional manner at the driver level. Real implementation based experiments show that our proposal guarantees crash consistency even under sudden failures with at most 5% performance overhead.

Individual Stable Driving Pattern Analysis for Evaluating Driver Readiness at Autonomous Driving Levels 2 and 3 基于2级和3级自动驾驶驾驶员准备度评估的个体稳定驾驶模式分析

Autonomous vehicles have recently attracted considerable attention as a new type of transportation system that can improve convenience and quality of life. However, current versions of autonomous vehicles still require human intervention in specific situations, and in certain situations the driving mode must be switched from autonomous to manual. It is difficult to determine whether driver readiness is perfect at the moment at which the driving mode is switched because of a lack of concentration and tension. A certain amount of time is required to recover a stable driving state after taking over the controls. A stable driving pattern differs by driver, so it is important to identify and classify individual patterns to determine the time of take-over request (TOR). In this study, we attempt to measure the similarities among individual driving patterns and propose a classification model for the stable driving patterns of individuals. We first applied hierarchical clustering based on dynamic time warping and bag-of-patterns to confirm that the driver has his or her own driving pattern. We then improve the accuracy of driver classification for each driving event and implement a real-time application using the long-short-term memory methodology. We show that the classifier has relatively good performance for driving event section data, particularly for sudden stops and congestion events.

Edge-based Error Concealment for Line Compression Methods 基于边缘的线压缩错误隐藏方法

Recently, a lot of low complexity line compression methods were proposed for high resolution image transmission techniques. However, errors occurring on the transmission channel propagate through the line while decoding and often appear in consecutive multiple lines. In this paper, we propose a multi-line edge-based line average (ML-ELA) method that can improve the image quality of the image damaged by the consecutive multiple line errors of line compression techniques. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves both the PSNR and the subjective image quality of the degraded images due to channel errors.

Segmentation and Reconstruction of 3D Models from a Point Cloud with Deep Neural Networks 基于深度神经网络的点云三维模型分割与重建

The need to model visual information with compact representations has existed since the early days of computer vision. We implemented in the past a segmentation and model recovery method for range images which is unfortunately too slow for current size of 3D point clouds and type of applications. Recently, neural networks have become the popular choice for quick and effective processing of visual data. In this article we demonstrate that with a convolutional neural network we could achieve comparable results, that is to determine and model all objects in a given 3D point cloud scene. We started off with a simple architecture that could predict the parameters of a single object in a scene. Then we expanded it with an architecture similar to Faster R-CNN, that could predict the parameters for any number of objects in a scene. The results of the initial neural network were satisfactory. The second network, that performed also segmentation, still gave decent results comparable to the original method, but compared to the initial one, performed somewhat worse. Results, however, are encouraging but further experiments are needed to build CNNs that will be able to replace the state-of-the-art method.

Optimization of the effect of radiation on ASIC chip through detector 通过探测器优化辐射对ASIC芯片的影响

The photon counting detecting system is a direct image detection method that counts one by one when incident photons are larger than noise. So it is differs from conventional radiation image detecting equipment. This system has an advantage of measuring low dose and low energy and also possible to make a colorful image. In this study we were targeting CdZnTe semiconductor as detector. Optimize CdZnTe’s thickness to consider the influence of the X-ray passing through CdZnTe on the ROIC circuit using Geant4 simulation.

On Fronthaul Compression and Transmission Strategies for Utility Maximization in C-RAN C-RAN中效用最大化的前传压缩与传输策略研究

Utility maximization is a fundamental problem in cellular network optimization. This paper considers joint optimization of data compression and downlink transmission strategies in a cloud radio access network (C-RAN) with finite fronthaul capacity. Our aim is to maximize the system utility with given quality of service (QoS) requirements for the users in such a network. We propose to exploit the optimality conditions and design a low-complexity iterative algorithm to obtain local optimal solutions. Compared with standard interior-point algorithms, simulations show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the processing time to as low as 1/625 while achieving the same final results. Comparisons with other transmission strategies are performed using numerical simulations.

3-D Modeling and Analysis of Blockage Effects on the Performance of Urban Wireless Communication Systems 阻塞对城市无线通信系统性能影响的三维建模与分析

This paper introduces a 3-D model for wireless communication systems in order to evaluate their performance under hybrid fading assumption for LOS and non-LOS environments. The model is based on the concepts of 3-D stochastic geometry that describes the different cells positions in the network with realistic constraints, and the random shape theory which characterizes the random blockages in urban cellular networks. Here, we assume that the blockages are randomly distributed as a Boolean scheme of rectangles. Based on that, probabilities of line-of-sight (LOS), for 2-D and 3-D models, are evaluated, and the corresponding coverage probability expressions are detailed and derived under the assumption of Rayleigh fading, Rice fading and hybrid fading. Using numerical results, the analytical derived expressions are evaluated, and the advantages of employing the more realistic 3-D model are investigated.

The Effect of Pulse Signal Waveform on Bandwidth in Pulse Radar System 脉冲雷达系统中脉冲信号波形对带宽的影响

In this paper, we have investigated the effect of pulse waveform on bandwidth in pulse radar system. The correlation between the rise/fall times of the pulse signal and the bandwidth and the effect of the underdamped response on the bandwidth have been described. To efficiently manage spectrum for pulse radar system and to coexist other systems, rise/fall time should be considered for frequency bandwidth because the rise/fall times are dominant factor to decide the bandwidth of B-40dB.
