Este artículo explora los ensayos que Alfonso Reyes recopiló en el volumen Tránsito de Amado Nervo (1937). El eje del estudio radica en la crítica y la reproducción que Reyes llevó a cabo a propósito del discurso hegemónico sobre Nervo en el horizonte cultural afectado por la inusitada popularidad del poeta. Reyes se centró en la sustancia biográfica que hizo posible el discurso alrededor de la “sinceridad” del poeta y la austeridad estilística de su aparato verbal. Este texto plantea que la oscilación del juicio de Reyes obedecía a la índole filológica de su mentalidad literaria, que no podía ofrecer continuidad histórica a la doctrina abrazada por Nervo hacia el periodo definitivo de su trayectoria, consistente en la identificación de vida humana y poesía.

Henry Louis Gates has taken Saussure’s term “signifying” and redefined it as a linguistic wordplay which postpones the delivery of meaning and believes in “double-voicedness”, this means to speak both the language of the dominant culture and that of the subordinated one. He also asserts “double-voicedness” as the epitome of “Signifyin (g)”. This paper intends to apply the notions of “Double-voicedness” and “Signifyin (g)” on the manuscript of Les Blancs, written by Lorraine Hansberry, and highlights the anti-colonial aspects of the play.

En este ensayo se aborda el problema de inteligibilidad que plantean los tres relatos redactados por Jose Revueltas durante su encierro en Lecumberri despues de la represion del movimiento estudiantil de 1968 y que fueron recogidos en el volumen Material de los suenos : “Hegel y yo”, “El reojo del yo” y “Ezequiel o la matanza de los inocentes”. Despues de revisar algunos importantes trabajos criticos en donde se tematiza el caracter hermetico de dichos textos, el articulo sugiere una contextualizacion conceptual basada en la relectura de algunos pasajes teorico-politicos del propio Revueltas, asi como de otros pensadores, y traza una linea de inteligibilidad mediante la descripcion del funcionamiento de esa mimesis hermetica.

This article recues the enormous discussion about the novel Los dias terrenales , by Jose Revueltas in the plane of philosophical interpretation. A reading of Los dias terrenales is proposed through the proper instruments of philosophy in its dialectical dimension, through which the significant cast of philosophical problems that Revueltas summons with the construction of a great existential and human mural can be addressed. For this purpose, the ghost of Andrei Zhdanov y Blaise Pascal are invoked: their ideas regarding art, life, the absolute, political or moral commitment and, finally, the human condition guide the complexity of an author in his being both a communist writer and a communist who writes.

In this article we discuss Franz Kafka’s novel America from three main topics: paradise, landscape, and distance. We intend to point out how paradise and the earthly world are present throughout its plot in a parallel form. The landscape descriptions offer a view to paradise, but we inevitably go back to the earthly world. It is a contrastive dialogue between paradise and tragedy, where women represent a door to paradise and a banishment from paradise at the same time.

Este articulo analiza la labor de Bolivar Echeverria como traductor al espanol de la obra de Walter Benjamin, entendiendo la traduccion como forma de actualizacion y al traductor como quien traslada el texto a un contexto aparentemente ajeno y explota asi sus potencialidades dentro de una nueva realidad sociocultural. Echeverria establece un dialogo con Benjamin desde el contexto latinoamericano con el fin de romper concepciones del lenguaje que lo limiten a valores instrumentales, reafirmando su papel como matriz historica, no esencialista, de identidad colectiva e individual.

The purpose of this research is to elaborate on the problem of the humanist concept of disegno in Italian Renaissance architectural theory, particularly on its interpretation by Andrea Palladio and his theoretical references, emphasizing on projective methodology. The starting point of the analysis lies in the analogy established in antiquity between the creative processes of the forma in Cicero’s discourse and Vitruvius’ architectural forma . The study lays out the importance of classical rhetoric and architecture as the knowledge in which the principles of architectural projects in the Cinquecento were built upon.
