The aim of this research is to investigate the thinking processes of science teachers who are master students in science education regarding the thought experiment designed for the light absorption. For this aim, the phenomenological study method, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. In the study, eight science teachers who were continuing their master were studied by using purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews on the light absorption thought experiment. Data were collected through face-to-face problem-solving sessions, thinking aloud and backward questioning. From the data, it is seen that the teachers mostly showed secondary effects as establishing a new amount relationship, they carried out thought experiments to conviction, and while they preferred scientific concepts and intuition-based simulations as sources of thinking equally, spatial reasoning-symmetry-compound simulation and experience were preferred equally and less frequently. At the end of the research, it was concluded that the self-efficacy perceptions of the science teachers were high, having a command of the curriculum, having an uneasy mood when solving problems, and having hypothetical thinking skills.

The present study investigated the effects of the peer instruction approach on high school students' kinematics graphs interpretation skills and understanding of kinematics graphs. The study was conducted with 65 high school students from two groups. The first group was the experimental group and the second group was the control group. 32 students of the experimental group were taught using the peer instruction approach while 33 students of the control group were taught using the conventional teaching method. The data of the study were collected with the Test of Understanding Graphs in Kinematics. The results of the study showed that the peer instruction approach had a more positive effect on students' kinematics graphs interpretation skills and understanding of kinematic graphs than the conventional teaching method. In addition, there was a reasonable change in students' understanding of graphs and graphical thinking processes in the experimental group The students' understanding of graphs and graphical thinking processes did not change significantly in the control group. The results of the study revealed that the peer instruction approach can be used with little effort to assess and improve high school students' academic achievement in physics classes.

The number of students who complain about the difficulty of learning physics is due to the many formulas and calculations so that the teachers always vary their teaching methods so that the material taught can be absorbed by students through this research, which is expected to overcome these problems. In addition, this study also aims to see the effect of applying the free inquiry learning model with the experimental method on student learning outcomes. This research procedure uses a quasi-experimental method. The sample in this study were all students of SMAN 1 Kolaka in class X which consisted of 10 classes totaling 400 people. In testing the pre-test data, the first ability of students in both classes is the same. After learning motion material in the experimental class with the Free Inquiry Learning Model with the experimental method, and the control class with the experimental method, the post-test data obtained with the experimental class average value being higher than the control class. The test results show that the free inquiry learning model on student learning outcomes in motion subjects can significantly improve student learning outcomes.

Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the science process skills and critical thinking skills of female students are higher than male students. besides that there is a high and positive relationship between students' critical thinking skills and students' critical thinking skills. Based on these results, this research can be useful for teachers, namely so that teachers can carry out learning that can develop and improve science process skills so that students' critical thinking skills can also increase. In addition, the benefits for students themselves are so that students are accustomed to using skills in the learning process and can provide critical solutions in solving problems.","PeriodicalId":42020,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika Indonesia-Indonesian Journal of Physics Education","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47842013","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research was developmental research with aims to develop, knowing validity and practicability of thermodynamics e-book based on TPACK. This research was using 4D models and did only as far as develop step. The result based on 4D model steps were (1) Define produces task analysis to fulfil 21st century skill, (2) Design produces 2 product which are teacher book and student book, (3) Develop step produces result of validation and the last product (e-book/flipbook for teacher and student). Expert validation showed the teaching instructional material is valid, learning planning is valid, Content Representation is valid, and e-book is valid. 89,5% students responded this e-book very interesting. This e-book can be said quite practically. Limited trial and small experiment were carried out in one of class in senior high school of one Ngoro Mojokerto and concluded that the increase in the stabilization of sub-topic introduction to Temperature and the Thermodynamics Zero Low is high through the activity of comparing (Let’s Compare). Students can learn thermodynamics by keeping up with science and technology developments by this e-book. The practical benefit is helping the success of learning process carried out at school and home because e-books are provided in 2 forms, teacher book and student book.
