The specimens were prepared by melting the TiN, TiC, TiB/sub 2/, /spl delta/-MoB powders and its mixtures on technical titanium, /spl alpha/- and /spl alpha/+/spl beta/ titanium alloys by electron beam melting. The initial powders and coatings were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction. The structures of coatings from more complex mixtures on different base materials depended on the combination of treatment parameters: the thickness of initial powder, the quality of fluxes, and the electron beam current. The interaction of alloying elements and their mutual influence on polymorphism of Ti also determine the phase content and the structure of the coatings.

We designed a catalyst with the carrier on the base of high porous shaving material from stainless steels marks X18H10T . Results of service tests of block of catalyst on base of BPCM on furnaces enamel type B-30 and HE-1000/1 have shown a high cleaning degree within 94-99%, that corresponds to results, received on the block of catalyst KCMP-1.

A wide range of fault-tolerant techniques has been proposed to increase the reliability of software systems, some of those techniques are algorithmic fault-tolerance, concurrent error-detection, recovery block and multiple computations. The implementation of these methods helps to avoid only physical nature (hardware) faults. When designing software support, design faults should be attended, because of their "sleeping" character (those faults originate due to the mistakes and oversights of humans that occur while they design software systems). Here, the author describes how N-version programming as an approach to fault-tolerant software system design, permits the solution of the stated problems successfully.

The increase of the requirements to quality of production all over the world encourages producers to manufacture high-performance goods. Broad application of single-phase induction motors in home appliances, medicine, agriculture etc., intensifies the urgency of the problem of quality. Analysis of production techniques of electric machines and the single-phase IM in particular, demonstrates that, at manufacturing, dispersion of the sizes of parts, assembly units, properties of used materials occur. The authors describe how the modern methods of simulation of different processes and phenomena allow to conduct research with minimum costs for producers.

At present at freight terminals there is a necessity for the solution of such problems of operating control as: calculation of the standards of coupling of trains; optimization of supply of trains for loading/unloading; and optimization of shunting operation. The precise localization of trains on lines of a railway station is necessary to solve these problems. For the solution of these problems the data pictorial model for simulation of way station and current situation on the station is used. The necessity of application of pictorial model results from the technological process for the solution of the problems. The workstation of the railway station-master assistant having standard equipment is equipped additionally with a personal computer (PC) with an intelligence system storing the scheme of station lines, introduced in linearly-topological data model. The station equipment includes a system of video observation consisting of a set of controlled TV cameras, placed on searchlight towers which permits viewing, on a video terminal or screen of the PC, of the picture obtained from them. The given system of TV cameras is constructed in such a manner that on a monitor screen it is possible to obtain the picture practically of any part of station lines in one of several possible projections.

A confidential communications system applying a chaotic carrying signal is proposed. It contains the additive technique of mixing the information component with the chaotic carrying signal and the synchronic chaotic response for the information component extraction. It has been shown experimentally that the system constructed has some advantages in comparison with known chaotic communications systems.

An integral part of a system providing electrical machines serviceability is the quantitative estimation of its indices. The estimation under review is carried out based on the information obtained either during special tests or servicing motors at the customers. Taking into account State Standard 27.602-83 requirements for electrical machines, SST 18.689.152-74, techniques of collecting, coding and statistical data handling with respect to electrical motors serviceability have been developed. Service inspection results are written down in special logbooks of motor operational duties.

Profitability, reliability and productivity (output) of cutting processes, on the whole, depend on the service characteristics of the cutting tool. The main characteristics of the cutting tool are wear resistance and heat resistance with sufficient strength and plasticity. Therefore, the problems of wear resistance of tools for conditions of cutting always demand urgency, despite plenty of new instrumental materials and methods of increasing their wear resistance, which have appeared over recent. Thus, a new high wear resistant high-speed steel for nongrinding tools has been developed by the authors and is described in this paper.

In control devices for various purposes it is frequently required that the given current in a load is supported without dependence on load resistance. For this purpose current stabilizers or amplifiers with current output are used, at which the target current changes proportionally to the source signal. Such circuits are necessary in devices whose resistance is proportional to some external effect. The amplifier circuits with current output permit, with large accuracy, the realization of Ohm's law, if the resistance of load changes. In this case, the load voltage should be strictly proportional to its resistance.
