In modern engineering, electric machines of end fulfillment are widely used. In a series of cases, when the engineering techniques of calculation of magnetic circuits with lumped parameters do not give desirable results. More detailed description of magnet system design for increase of accuracy of calculation of magnetoelectric devices is required. And if there are design peculiarities of a magnet system (nonuniform distribution of induction along core radius etc.), not permitting to design the device on the basis of two-dimensional magnetic fields, it is necessary to solve the problem by methods of simulation of magnetic fields.

Investigates the processes on the surface of the low-carbon steel 3 subjected to special treatment followed by annealing. The experiment provided deeper insight into the character of strain-induced defect flows on the surface of the solid under loading.

As a dielectric of sections in power capacitors the impregnated-paper, sheet-impregnated-paper or film insulation imbued with a liquid dielectric is applied. The electric strength of a liquid dielectric is much lower than strength of an imbued paper or film. Therefore partial discharges (PD), most responsible for process of ageing of electrical insulation arise, first of all, in a liquid dielectric. The intensity of electromagnetic radiation near to a dielectric under high voltage was investigated experimentally. It was shown, that the amplitudes of signals relate legibly to field strength in a dielectric and to development of PD. In paper-oil insulation such as KON-1 the signals of electromagnetic radiation from PD can be observed from field strength of the initial PD. The degree of increase of intensity of electromagnetic signals from PD depends on value of field strength in a dielectric. When field strength changes from initial up to a critical level the rate of signals increase from PD amounts to 0.69 dB/(kV/mm), with field strength change from critical up to breakdown value of 1.7 dB/(kV/mm).

Modern metallurgical complex like Novokuznetsk Western-Siberian Metallurgical Complex has a large installed capacity of nonlinear, and also asymmetrical and sharply alternating (impact) loads: converters, arc and induction furnaces etc. that have considerable influence on quality coefficients of the electric power (QCEP). This paper briefly discusses the various issues of power quality control in the complex with reference to Russian standards.

The stepless gears (variators of speed) are widely applied in different machines that allow executing an optimum regime of machine operation and by that to increase their productivity. The mechanical stepless gears (variators) can be of two types: friction, transmitting a torque by friction forces, and variators of engagement, which can transmit large power, at the expense of joint action of tangent and normal forces. Chain variators, in which the catching on bodies are arranged in a circuit, and disk variators, in which the catching on bodies are arranged in disks are studied. In variator working engagement, power dissipations and more stable reduction ratio are less. In essence this type of variator consists of a pair of dentate conical disks with teeth of different height of the convex-concave shape and yoke, in which the intermediate bodies are arranged. One of the disks is captured on the arbor, the other can be displaced in an axial direction. The rollers can also be displaced in an axial direction. The basic characteristics of the variator are listed.

Requirements of quality of castings in metallurgy and engineering considerably increase, resulting in a simultaneous rise in price of the cost of charge stuffs and power supplies used in cast iron production. Here, the authors describe one of major production phases of high-strength cast irons with ball-shaped graphite which is an intra-form modification of cast iron by silicon magnesium modifiers specially fitted, and of definite elemental composition.

Much attention is given to manufacturing materials with heightened physical and mechanical properties. When forming powder compositions the method of hydrostatic pressing (HP) is used. This method allows receiving isotropic articles with a practically unlimited ratio of length and sizes of cross section. On the installation of UVD-7 the model researches of pressing characteristics of copper powders produced according to standard 4960-75 were conducted. The results of influence of bulk weight, dispersion, configuration and methods of powders obtained on porosity of articles were obtained.

The dynamic stability research of electric motors with oscillating motion is oriented towards the definition of utmost disturbance values upon which the electromechanical system restores the established quasi-synchronous power setting. A sudden increase or drop of load, self-rocking, short circuit, and so on act as such disturbances. All these processes have an obviously dynamic nature, where /spl omega/(t) rate and X(t) coordinate for a moving element of an actuating motor are unknown and variable quantities. A precise definition of the latter is connected with the solution of the full system of nonlinear differential equations describing a general motor mathematical model under the bi-harmonic control, but this leads to some difficulties. Dynamic stability problems can be more easily studied with a double-supply engine. This issue is discussed by the authors.

Rapid thermal processing systems (RTP) are currently being developed for single-wafer manufacturing of integrated circuits. In order to achieve slip-free and uniform processing, it is necessary to maintain near uniform temperature distribution over the wafer. Recent innovations in RTP design have provided the ability to achieve temperature uniformity. One recent approach employs multiple concentric circular rings of lamps that can be controlled independently so as to adjust the heat flux over the wafer to maintain a reasonable uniform temperature over a range of operating conditions. To solve problems of RTP systems design and control problem solutions, it is necessary to construct a process model. In this paper, the authors introduce a nonparametric method of RTP system modeling.

There are several methods of analog data protection, but the most effective methods are those in which the signal carrying the data is transformed. In such a case the access to the data blocks being transferred is possible only with a decoder. The author describes a transmitter-encoder-decoder-receiver system for data protection.
