For the gravity-driven intravenous infusion, the nurse normally observes and counts the drips in the drip chamber and determines the drop factor on the IV administration set to the drops per minute for an infusion by gravity. This method is quite complicated and may not be accurate. Therefore, the objectives of this study were to design, develop, and fabricate the infusion monitoring device using wireless data transmission. The developed system uses an infrared sensor to detect IV fluid droplets. The microcontroller ESP32 was used for processing data before displaying it on the TFT screen and sending wireless data with the wireless transmission on a wifi network to display on the internet browser at the nurse station in order to monitor the information from a distance and to reduce the continuous on-site monitoring. Our developed system was tested to verify the measuring flow rate and delivered volume in comparison with the infusion device analyzer in the range of flow rate between 20 and 200 milliliters per hour with different lighting conditions. The results indicate that the device can real-time monitor the infusion process and present accurate infusion information. In addition, the alarm signal will be activated when the infusion stops, rate too fast, and complete. This developed system can provide advantages in many aspects such as convenient deployment, flexible use, and reliability.

The one important in a passive optical network (PON) for high-speed communication is fault detection and fault alert due to the troubles of passive optical fiber or passive optical devices. Any failure of optical devices in the optical link can influence to a huge amount of data loss in the optical network. However, deployment of fault detection and alert devices or systems is extremely limited due to the financial implications and reliability of the devices or systems. Thus, this work proposes a design and implementation of a cost-effective way for detection when an optical link has a fault in a PON. Also, real-time wirelessly alert to a responsible person. This monitoring technique is based on bidirectional light-wave communication with single-core single-mode optical fiber and internet of things (IoT) technology. Which consists of 2 sub-systems namely the transmitter of the optical fiber monitoring system (OFMS-Tx) is located at the optical network unit (ONU). And the receiver of the fiber monitoring system (OFMS-Rx) is located at the optical line terminal (OLT). Both parts operating with microcontrollers, which the OFMS-Tx microcontroller uses for generating a monitoring signal that depends on situations such as normal operation situation or power outage situation. The OFMS-Rx microcontroller act as a monitoring signal decoder for the decision of the OFMS-Tx and optical link situations. Also, OFMS-Rx real-time alerts to responsible person when fault occurring, such as optical link fail or ONU power outage. From experimental results show that the proposed system is automatically working for real-time optical fiber link detection and immediately alert to the responsible person within 11 seconds when a fault occurs. Also, the proposed system could transmit a monitoring signal in the network over a fiber distance of 70 km.

This paper proposes an improvement of instance generator for scheduling problems called i-IGSP. There are three significant improvements from the existing IGSP. The first feature is the main contribution of this paper, which is the integration of an assembly operation option with parallel machines to all types of multi-level and multi-operation production shops, known as flow shop and job shop. These shops have been found in many modern industries and scheduling researches at the present. The second feature provides the choice of due time scenarios. The third enhancement makes the output text files more consistent and for all production shops. Based on the improvements, i-IGSP has become one of the most completed instance generators for scheduling problems than the other instance generators published in the literature. Researchers can use it to not only to evaluate their algorithms and generate benchmark problems but also to save time and cost of data collection from real industries.

In this paper, the robust digital control method, Approximate 2 Degree Of Freedom (A2DOF) digital control method, is used for Light Emitting Diode (LED) current control. Since the dynamic range of light emitting diode current as a dimming function from 100% to 2% dimming are analog control, but it is not possible to make it very low current or is called "extremely dark". The reason is that the voltage and current characteristics of light emitting diodes are high non-linear, and the internal resistance changes greatly as the current decreases. The resonant circuit use LCL-T network circuit. Therefore, the digital control is appropriate. A robust digital controller derived from this control method is mounted on microcontroller, and experiments show that the lower limit of light emitting diode current can be expanded or less than 1%. The experimental results shown that the method has lower limit of light emitting diode current or extremely dark.

In this research, two MPPT solar charge controller techniques have been measured; Perturb & Observe (P&O) and Incremental Conductance (IC) techniques. The comparison of MPPT solar charge controller techniques has been analyzed for estimating the battery charging rate and system efficiency. To carry out this experiment, the MPPT solar charge controller techniques were applied to the buck converter circuits for extracting maximum power from the PV panel into the battery. Moreover, the MPPT solar charge controller techniques were also tested in a stand-alone PV system with an 80 W PV panel and lead-acid battery which had a capacity of 20 Ah. However, the experimental results indicated that the charging rate of the IC technique can be calculated at 0.83 V/hr, while the other technique is equal to 0.65 V/hr. Furthermore, the total efficiency of the stand-alone PV system with the IC technique is around 95%. This implies that this technique has extremely efficient.

Last-mile delivery is an important part of a logistics activity in the city. Usually, delivery workers are required to manually unload goods at customer locations. These manual tasks induce physiological fatigue in the workers and increase delivery time. This paper discusses a genetic algorithm (GA) approach to the open vehicle routing problem with split delivery (SDOVRP), where manual unloading is addressed. The workers are pre-assigned to vehicle and split delivery is allowed. Its objective is to minimize the total cost of total fixed cost of vehicles and delivery workers and total transportation cost. For safety, the total physical workload imposed on each worker must not exceed the daily limit. Since an optimization approach cannot find the optimal solution within reasonable computation time especially when solving large size problem. A GA with heuristic for pre-determine split delivery is developed to solve the problem. The computational experiment results show that the GA approach is efficient and can obtain near-optimal SDOVRP solutions.
