: One of the main contributions of the German historian Jörn Rüsen to innovations in the field of research on teaching of History is his references of research in philosophy and the theory of History. His reflections on Didactics of History announced a new paradigm for the research nature of learning and teaching History which is characterized the field of History Education. Based on these assumptions, the perspective of research in the field of History Education, which has been carried out in Brazil has been taken as an object of analysis , indications of this renewal, which suggest an articulation between the references of History as science and the educational research. This articulation indicates what the historians do when they researching History teaching. Results, although partial, indicate several issues to be taken into account with regard to research on learning History of children and young people, whether in a school environment or other learning environments. Furthemore, they raise new research questions, which will be pointed out in this work.

Contemporary theory and method are a pledge of professional quality and social admissibility of the claim to the truth of the historical narrative.

analisado, caracterizando Abstract: This study analyzes the religious conflict, involving Catholics and Protestants, in southern Brazil, published in the newspaper Correio Riograndense, in the 1940s. It is possible to observe, through this case study, the attempt at Catholic supremacy in Brazilian religious life. The analyzed journal, although characterized as a local publication, portrays the hierarchy of religious relations in the first half of the 20th century. It also makes it possible to identify the hegemonic discourse of the Catholic Church in Brazil and Latin America, with its intolerant aspect and the fight against the faithful of other Christian currents.

: The present paper is associated with a research project linked to the Núcleo de Estudos sobre Memória e Educação (CLIO) whose main objective of the project is to interpret the role of history teaching in the field of modern education in the 21st century. Reflecting on the concepts of modernity and post-modernity, linked to school education, we seek to interpret the educational model that maintains the same structure and the same concepts as the beginning of modernity. Understanding of the school as a strategic construction of modernity, we seek to analyze the transforming possibilities of the praxis of teaching history. Criticisms of teaching practices, specifically of history, associated with the transmission of information, are based on historical education, considered as a political and methodological strategy for transforming school education, within contemporary perspectives.
