Introduction/objective: Strengthening value chains facilitates the productive diversification of economies. In this context, the purpose of this article is to carry out a diagnosis of the passion fruit value chain in Ecuador in the period 2015-2019, following the methodology established by Padilla and Oddone (2016) in the ECLAC Manual for Strengthening Value Chains. Methodology: This exploratory study began with a statistical analysis of the production and marketing of passion fruit and products made it over the period 2015-2019. This was complemented with a qualitative analysis based on information gathered from interviews with producers, processors, and exporters. Results: A mapping and detailed study of the value chain was carried out and the main constraints of each link were identified. It was found that the notorious drop in passion fruit production and exports in the study period has to do with local demand trends, low profit margins, lack of access to credit and agricultural insurance, poor infrastructure, and excessive power of intermediaries. Conclusions: Passion fruit production for export, both as a fruit and as an industrialized product, has considerable potential. However, the restrictions identified have prevented this potential from being exploited. Therefore, joint action by the State, the private sector and academia is essential. This diagnosis is a first step in providing relevant information for the development of public policy to overcome existing bottlenecks.

Introduction/objective: The popular and supportive microcredit is a dynamic element of economic development, its validity and growth are vital for developing territories, such as the one considered in this work, province of Santa Elena in the Republic of Ecuador. It empowers the generation of sources of employment, availability of sustenance to cover the needs of segments of the population with insufficient income. Methodology: the research is quantitative with a descriptive scope with a non-experimental design. It is based on secondary data corresponding to placements of popular and solidarity microcredit of segment 1. Results: the growth of popular and solidarity microcredit placements in the province of Santa Elena has been discreet, even during periods of unfavorable externalities such as the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, in which its positive interannual variation was maintained. Conclusions: popular and solidarity microcredit has placed resources in productive agents so that, based on principles of social, environmental, and solidarity responsibility, a distribution of resources is generated in disadvantaged agents, generating evidence of a model that generates economic development.

Introduction / objective: Nowadays society demands from agricultural systems not only the provision of goods for the market but also environmental and social services. This transformation is a challenge due to the unpredictability of executing actions in a complex system with no certainty that it will lead to the desired outcome. This perspective paper describes the application of Decision Analysis (DA) for such uncertain scenarios of decision-making in agricultural systems. Methodology: This paper describes a general protocol for the implementation of DA, proposes a temporal-spatial framework for the application of DA in agricultural systems using concepts of Decision Theory and strategic planning, and introduces a case study for describing how this framework can be applied to agricultural innovation systems. Results: Problems in agricultural systems can be outlined as decision analysis models of specific spatial-temporal scale (planning horizons). This framework has potential for the application of DA in the planning efforts of the Colombian National Agricultural Innovation System, but especially in the implementation of Regional Innovation Systems. Conclusions: We provided an extended DA framework aimed to constitute a sound basis for finding solutions in the complex setting of agricultural systems, for planning actions of science, technology and innovation and for supporting the decision making process of sustainability transformation of agricultural systems.

Introduction/objective: Emissions of naturally occurring greenhouse gases (GHG) have increased due to anthropogenic actions, threatening the planet with environmental imbalance. Reservoirs for storing water, which is later used to drive the turbines of hydroelectric power plants, accumulate sediments generating GHGs. This paper analyzes the methods used to estimate GHG emissions in reservoirs, classifying the scientific publications found in the ScienceDirect and Google Scholar search engines. Methodology: The analytical method uses a Boolean expression to collect information in the indicated search engines and extract the relevant literature considering factors such as water temperature, geographic location, type and surface area of the reservoir, type of gas and technology, attributing a relevance value to each characteristic to elaborate a matrix of results. Results: The results show that more than 50% are based on GHG estimates and the rest on direct measurements in the reservoirs. In addition, the contribution of artificial intelligence as an estimation technique is less than 6 %. Conclusions: Finally, the world regions where studies are conducted are proportionally distributed and the analysis of scientific literature indicates versatility in GHG estimation methods in hydropower reservoirs.

Introduction/objective: With the proliferation of technologies as a determining factor within the activities of society and with the rise of social networks, content management emerges strongly as a strategic means to increase the visibility and positioning of commercial organizations, The main intent of the study was: analyze the influence of Content Marketing (CM) in the purchase decision (DDC) of internal tourists who visited tourist sites in Ecuador. Methodology: I conducted an empirical, descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional study. Qualitative tools such as interview and observation were used, in addition to using the survey as a quantitative research tool, which was applied to 455 tourists. Results: Spearman's rho confirmation coefficient (0.552) demonstrates the existence of positive media confirmation of this aspect of marketing on the decision of internal tourists from Ecuador. Strategic content management implies that the content is informative, educational, clear, interesting, entertaining and shared in different formats (images, audio, video, text). Conclusions: There is a direct relationship between the correct management of the content shared by travel agencies and the DDC of tourists, this means that the CM is a factor that can influence at any time during the DDC of tourists, also see a valuable support during the use of the acquired service, since the results indicated that the tourists consider that the agencies clearly communicate all the benefits that they can obtain during the trip.

Introducción/objetivo: el abastecimiento de agua potable y la gestión adecuada de aguas servidas son aspectos fundamentales para garantizar la salud de las personas. No obstante, certificar la calidad de estos servicios es un desafío que exige un enfoque eficiente e integral. En este sentido, implementar sistemas de gestión o tecnologías digitales pueden resultar soluciones claves para eficientizar estos servicios. El estudio tuvo como propósito determinar cómo el sistema de gestión de calidad influye en los servicios de agua potable y alcantarillado de la empresa EPS Barranca S. A., situada en la provincia de Barranca, Perú. Metodología: se siguió un enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental transversal, de alcance correlacional. Se diseñó un cuestionario para el cual participaron 80 trabajadores administrativos. Resultados: se empleó el análisis de correlación Rho de Spearman, que entregó un valor de 0.945 (p < 0.05) y el cual evidenció que un sistema de gestión de calidad influye significativamente en el servicio de agua potable y alcantarillado de la empresa EPS Barranca S. A. Conclusiones: se confirmó que el sistema de gestión de calidad incide de forma positiva y relevante en los servicios de agua potable y alcantarillado y que es una herramienta importante en la empresa, ya que destaca los componentes de la superioridad del servicio y, por lo consiguiente, permite entregar un servicio que esté al nivel de las expectativas del usuario.

Introduction/objective: This paper explored the relationship between liquidity risk and stock returns in the Chilean stock market, using three measures of liquidity risk widely used in other research and three measures to which the free float variable is added. Methodology: The analysis is performed using panel data regression for the period 2010-2019, the sample considers 46 Chilean companies with a total of 5,509 monthly observations. Results: These show a relationship between profitability and liquidity risk, but only for two of the measures used. Liquidity risk measures based on free float do not show results in this line. Conclusions: This work is another indication that financial risks are difficult to classify in a specific model and liquidity risk is no exception. All the previous evidence, as well as this research, indicates that liquidity risk can be measured and captured by different indices and models.

Introducción/objetivo: Durante la selección de una franquicia, el inversionista o futuro franquiciatario cuenta con datos de los franquiciantes mexicanos y extranjeros concentrados en los anuarios especializados del sector, cuyas publicaciones de carácter divulgativo expresan éxito y bonanza sobre todo en las marcas con espacios pagados. Este trabajo busca contribuir a la escasa literatura acerca de este tema de franquicias, por lo tanto, tiene como objetivo identificar y evaluar los factores que determinan la sobrevivencia, el abandono y el fracaso al operar el modelo de franquicias en el periodo 2010 al 2019 en el sector del comercio y servicios, en México, con el fin de contar con una fuente de análisis, además de la información disponible en el mercado que permita reducir los riesgos de inversión. Metodología: El alcance fue exploratorio, correlacional y explicativo con un diseño longitudinal, que abarca diez años, ex post facto evolutivo; con una recolección de datos de 8.125 franquiciantes mexicanos, de bases de datos de publicaciones especializadas y directas, estableciendo como variable dependiente la sobrevivencia y como variables independientes las características de los franquiciantes. Resultados: Con base en el análisis discriminante múltiple se encontraron diferencias notables entre las franquicias que sobrevivieron, fracasaron o abandonaron el modelo, en que resultaron significativas las variables de la edad antes de franquiciar, la afiliación a una asociación de franquicias y el porcentaje de regalías. Conclusiones: Las empresas deben considerar franquiciar en una etapa madura, buscar establecer redes empresariales y aceptar contratos con regalías que sean convenientes para la permanencia de la franquicia.

Una aproximación a las diferencias entre la supervivencia, el abandono y el fracaso","authors":"María del Rosario Cortés Castillo, María Luisa Saavedra García","doi":"10.14349/sumneg/2022.v13.n28.a4","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14349/sumneg/2022.v13.n28.a4","url":null,"abstract":"Introducción/objetivo: Durante la selección de una franquicia, el inversionista o futuro franquiciatario cuenta con datos de los franquiciantes mexicanos y extranjeros concentrados en los anuarios especializados del sector, cuyas publicaciones de carácter divulgativo expresan éxito y bonanza sobre todo en las marcas con espacios pagados. Este trabajo busca contribuir a la escasa literatura acerca de este tema de franquicias, por lo tanto, tiene como objetivo identificar y evaluar los factores que determinan la sobrevivencia, el abandono y el fracaso al operar el modelo de franquicias en el periodo 2010 al 2019 en el sector del comercio y servicios, en México, con el fin de contar con una fuente de análisis, además de la información disponible en el mercado que permita reducir los riesgos de inversión. Metodología: El alcance fue exploratorio, correlacional y explicativo con un diseño longitudinal, que abarca diez años, ex post facto evolutivo; con una recolección de datos de 8.125 franquiciantes mexicanos, de bases de datos de publicaciones especializadas y directas, estableciendo como variable dependiente la sobrevivencia y como variables independientes las características de los franquiciantes. Resultados: Con base en el análisis discriminante múltiple se encontraron diferencias notables entre las franquicias que sobrevivieron, fracasaron o abandonaron el modelo, en que resultaron significativas las variables de la edad antes de franquiciar, la afiliación a una asociación de franquicias y el porcentaje de regalías. Introdução / objetivo: Esta pesquisa foi realizada com o objetivo de demonstrar os fatores que impactam a aceitação de tecnologia de armazenamento em nuvem nos escritórios de contabilidade filiados a uma instituição representativa de seus interesses no estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil, amparada pelos paradigmas propostos pela Teoria Unificada de Aceitação e Uso de Tecnologia. Metodologia: A coleta de dados procedeu-se por meio de um questionário disponibilizado aos endereços eletrônicos dos responsáveis pelos escritórios de contabilidade, por meio do sistema Google Form. Na análise dos dados, o estudo recorreu ao software SPSS 25, para a apresentação da estatística descritiva, e ao software SmartPLS 3.0, para a modelagem de equações estruturais. Resultados: As evidências da pesquisa apontaram que apenas a variável “hábito” apresentou significância, demonstrando que somente esse construto apresenta influência significativa na intenção de uso da ferramenta de armazenamento em nuvem. Conclusões: Como contribuição, este estudo auxilia na gestão organizacional, no entendimento dos fatores influenciadores da adoção de tecnologias de armazenamento em nuvem, a fim de melhorar a rotina dos escritórios de contabilidade e maximizar a agilidade, o custo e a segurança do armazenamento de dados.

Introducción/objetivo: el entorno dinámico y competitivo exige a las empresas crear valor mediante la innovación, por lo que el objetivo de la investigación fue explorar si las competencias del innovador de observación (CIO), cuestionamiento (CIC), experimentación (CIE), creación de redes (CICR) afectan a la innovación en marketing (IM) por medio de la competencia del innovador de conexión de ideas (CICI) en las empresas manufactureras de muebles de madera en Puno (Perú). Metodología: el estudio corresponde al enfoque cuantitativo con alcance explicativo y diseño no experimental-transeccional. La muestra fue de 73 dueños o gerentes de las empresas manufactureras de muebles de la provincia de Puno (Perú), a quienes se suministró un cuestionario con 34 ítems. Resultados: los resultados del modelo estructural reflejan que la varianza de la CICI se debe a los efectos positivos de las CIE y CICR. Además, el modelo explica de manera significativa la varianza de IM. Conclusiones: el modelo explica y predice la varianza tanto de la CICI como de la IM. Por otro lado, las CIE y CICR son los que afectan de forma directa y significa en las CICI, y esta a la vez afecta de la misma forma en la IM de las empresas manufactureras de muebles en la Provincia de Puno, Perú.
