Wood processing industry waste consists of waste produced by the plywood industry, sawing and woodworking consisting of ends, blades, peelings, chips and sawdust. The use of wood waste is not utilized by the furniture industry and one of the solutions to its utilization by processing wood waste into activated charcoal. Activated charcoal can be made from all carbon-containing materials both organic and inorganic provided that the material is porous. Bangkirai, Rengas and Sengon wood waste as materials used in this study were carbonized first then activated charcoal. The quality test of activated charcoal carried out includes yield, air content, ash content, volatile matter content, carbon content, absorption of benzene, absorption of iodine and absorption of methylene blue. Overall, the results of testing the quality of activated charcoal did not all meet the requirements of SNI 06-3730-1995. The quality of activated charcoal from Rengas wood has the best quality (>456.59 mg /g) of all needs because the highest iodine absorption capacity according to Kimia Farma (KF) standards requires (> 426.5 mg/g). Rengas wood activated charcoal to bore wells improves the quality of drinking water No. 416/ Menkes / Per/IX /1990 except turbidity. The waste of wood processing industry such as the plywood, sawmill and woodworkingindustries give waste as form of end pieces, slash, peeling residue, scrap and sawdust.The wood waste is not utilized by the furniture industry. The solution of this problem isto process these wood waste into activated charcoal. Activated charcoal can be madefrom any material containing carbon, both organic and inorganic, provided that thematerial is porous.The first,the waste wood of Ulin, Benuas, and Agathis used asmaterials in this study were carbonized and then made into activated charcoal. Thequality test of activated charcoal were yield, moisture content, ash, volatile matter, fixedcarbon, absorption of benzene, absorption of iodine and absorption of methylene blue.Overall, not all research treatments on the quality of activated charcoal fulfill to SNI 06-3730-1995. Seed gardens are one way to obtain quality seeds. Seed gardens are areas where certainplants are planted to produce seeds of superior genetic origin. The seed garden of TheUniversity of Palangkaraya in maintaining red meranti (Shorea leprosula Miq) plantsencountered several obstacles, one of which was pests and diseases. Identification of pestand disease attacks is basically the beginning to find out a plant needs special care orattention to improve the quality of the plant itself. This study aims to identify anddetermine the intensity of pest and disease attacks on red meranti (Shorea leprosula Miq)in the seed garden area of The University of Palangka Raya. Collecting data using thecircle plot method, a systematic random sampling technique. Based on the research, it wasfound that the types of pests and diseases that attack red meranti are fire caterpillar(Setothosea asigna), beetle (Mecynorrhina sp), leaf spot (Curvularia sp and Nigrosporasp). The frequency of pest attack is 7.52% and the intensity of attack is 0.75%, with acombination frequency of 1.50% and an attack intensity of 0.45%.Keywords: identification, pests, diseases, seed garden

This study aims to determine the total income, production costs, absolute profit, andbreak-even point from the business of utilizing wood waste, through analysis of RevenueCost Ratio (RCR) analysis at Tio Art Collection, Palangka Raya City in 2019. Theanalysis uses a quantitative descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that thewood waste used in Tio Art Collection is ironwood waste (Eusideroxylon zwageri T et B)and balangeran wood waste (Shorea laevis Ridl.). Tio Art Collection's wood craft businessis economically viable because it has an R/C ratio of 1.73.Keywords: Wood waste, R/C ratio, cost and income.

UJI KESEHATAN BENIH KENANGA YLANG-YLANG 依兰种子的健康测试

Ylang-ylang (Cananga odorata Hook.F.& Thomson) is one of the defense plants with various benefits and advantages. One of the hallenges in ylang-ylang Cananga cultivation is the contribution of high-quality seed. The study aimed to determine the health of seeds and identify fungi carried by ylang-ylang seeds. The seed health test used an incubation method on potato dextrose agar (PDA) media. Results showed that ylangylang seeds associated with five fungal for 11 months of age and newly harvested seedswere the same fungal. Those isolated fungal were Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, Penicillium sp., Botryodiplodia sp. and Paecilomyces sp. The fungus A. niger is the dominant fungus. Fungi Paecilomyces sp. and Botryodiplodia sp. The fungus A. niger identified most frequently. Fungi Paecilomyces sp. and Botryodiplodia sp. had a fast growth rate, whereas Penicillium sp. had slower growth compared with other isolates. Keywords: Fungus, seed health, ylang-ylang seeds

Pengujian sifat pemesinan kayu jati hutan rakyat menjadi sangat penting untukmendapatkan informasi penggunaannya sebagai bahan baku mebel kualitas ekspor.Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan lokasi dan umur tanaman terhadapsifat pemesinan kayu jati hutan rakyat. Penelitian dilaksanakan di hutan rakyat jatitersertifikasi pada umur 6, 8 dan 10 tahun. Pengujian sifat pemesinan dilakukan menurutmetode ASTM D1666-87. Penelitian menggunakan analisis varian program SPSS 20.0dengan uji lanjut Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukan jati hutan rakyat di lokasi Nglipar,Playen dan Dlingo dan umur pohon 6, 8 dan 10 tahun menghasilkan sifat pemesinan yangberbeda sangat nyata, dengan kualitas kelas mutu I dan sifat pemesinan sangat baik,kecuali di lokasi Dlingo dan umur 6 tahun dengan kelas mutu II dan sifat pemesinan baik.Sifat pemesinan jati hutan rakyat mempunyai nilai bebas cacat penyerutan 79.86 – 87.97%, pembentukan 80.96 - 90.06 %, pemboran 80.34 -89.85 % dan pengampelasan 80.19-94.47 %.Kata kunci : Hutan jati rakyat, pemesinan, penyerutan, pembentukan, pemboran,pengampelasan

Penelitian dilaksanakan di hutan rakyat jatitersertifikasi pada umur 6, 8 dan 10 tahun. Pengujian sifat pemesinan dilakukan menurutmetode ASTM D1666-87. Penelitian menggunakan analisis varian program SPSS 20.0dengan uji lanjut Tukey. POTENSI CADANGAN KARBON PADA HUTAN RAKYAT CEMPAKA (Elmerillia tsiampacca) PADA ZONA DATARAN TINGGI TANA TORAJA

Cempaka (Elmerillia tsiampacca) merupakan jenis unggulan di dataran tinggi pulau Sulawesi yang banyak dikembangkan pada hutan rakyat di Pulau Sulawesi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cadangan karbon pada tegakan Hutan Rakyat Cempaka pada zona dataran tinggi di Kabupaten Tana Toraja. Metode penentuan plot sampling dilakukan secara purposive berdasarkan umur tegakan, yaitu: umur 7 tahun, 13 tahun dan 22 tahun. Pada masing-masing umur tegakan dibuat 5 plot sampel dengan ukuran plot 25 meter x 25 meter untuk mengukur diameter pohon. Didalam setiap plot sampel dibuat 5 sub plot dengan ukuran 1 m x 1 m untuk mengukur biomassa tumbuhan bawah dan serasah. Perhitungan nilai biomassa dan cadangan karbon pohon dihitung dengan menggunakan persamaan allometrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan simpanan karbon yang signifikan dengan kenaikan umur tegakan. Simpanan karbon rata-rata pada umur tegakan 7 tahun sebesar 21,88 ton/ha, umur 13 tahun sebesar 131,78 ton/ha dan pada umur 22 tahun sebesar 165,44 ton/ha.Kata kunci : Cempaka (Elmerillia tsiampacca), hutan rakyat, Umur tegakan, Cadangan Karbon.
Cempaka (Elmerillia tsiampacca)是苏拉威西岛高地上的一种突出现象,这种现象在苏拉威西岛的民间森林中十分常见。这项研究的目的是确定塔纳托拉雅区高原地区Cempaka人森林的碳储量。抽样方法是根据三岁、十三岁和22岁的年龄进行的。每到25米×25米测量树木直径的样本。在每一个样品中都有5个尺寸为1米×1米的子图,用于测量低植物的生物量和沙石质量。生物质能计算和树的碳储量使用异位方程进行计算。研究结果表明,碳储量显著增加,寿命延长。碳储备的平均年龄为7岁21.88吨/ha, 13岁为131.78吨/ha, 22岁为165.44吨/哈。关键词:Cempaka (Elmerillia tsiampacca)、民间森林、保质期、碳储量。

This study aims to determine the social capital of the community in village forestmanagement in the Tangkahen Village area, Pulang Pisau Regency. Data retrieval using thesnowball sampling method, which means the researcher stops looking for additionalinformation when there is no more new information. The results showed that the cumulativesocial capital characteristics of the Tangkahen Village community in managing their villageforest were in the high category. The role of each element of community social capital,namely: elements of trust, social norms, pro-active actions and concern for others and theenvironment are included in the high category, only the social network element has a role inthe medium category. Activities in village forest management that have been carried out areidentifying the potential of village forests, building tree houses for natural ecotourismpurposes and marketing (promotional) activities.Keywords: Social capital, village forest management, village forest

Humans and environment are always interaction due to they occupy the same spacebased on the rules of both interdependence and adaptation that is tied to a natural balancesystem. Human interactions have to adapt to sustain life and exploit the natural resourcesaround them that produce cultural landscapes which are inseparable from thecharacteristics area. The strong influence of nature in determining the socio-culturalconditions of humans has led to anthropogeography. In line with the rapidly increasingnumber of people including their minds are also developing science and technology toobtain the necessary of their life. Humans have not a sense of being part of the socio-biogeophysical system, but are separate and stand outside of its and produceanthropocentrism. These phenomena have produced the idea that have to be aharmonious and balanced relationship between human necessary and the naturalresources capability. This means that human has to recognize their survival and otherspecies depend on ecological principles. Thus, human necessary should be carried out inan integrated with the other species necessary that produce an ecocentrism that respect tonature.Keywords: Human, environment, interaction, anthropocentrism, anthropogeography,ecocentrism
