Zusammenfassung Das Surface‐Inspection‐Pad, kurz SIP, bietet eine kostengünstige und ressourcenschonende Alternative zur Probennahme für eine vakuumgestützte Kontaminationskontrolle von Bauteiloberflächen. Die Analyse der Oberflächenchemie des Bauteils erfolgt dann durch die Analyse der SIP‐Oberfläche. Zur Analyse kann neben anderen Methoden insbesondere die oberflächensensitive Flugzeit‐Sekundärionen‐Massenspektrometrie (ToF‐SIMS) verwendet werden. Die zu untersuchenden Bauteile müssen somit nicht mehr aus dem Prozess entfernt und für die Analyse zerstört werden. Der Anwendende kann so enorme Kosten einsparen. Weiterhin können SIPs für die Kontaminationskontrolle in Schmierstoffkreisläufen und Flüssigkeiten eingesetzt werden. Silikonöl (PDMS) wird dabei in Flüssigkeiten bisher mit einer Nachweisgrenze von unter 10 –6 (ppm) nachgewiesen.
