This paper presents a review of 159 bibliometric studies on Indian physics and astronomy research output. The distribution of the 159 papers from1964 to 2020, contributing authors and specific subject domains are analysed. It is found that current research topics of physics and astronomy are hardly selected for the bibliometric study. A few papers incorporate currently relevant aspects of bibliometric analysis to carry out the studies. Both facets, i.e., bibliometrics and physics & astronomy as tool and subject respectively, need to be focussed upon as per the requirement and relevance of time.

Professor Wolfgang Glänzel, an outstanding and leading professor at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) in Belgium, received the international Derek John de Solla Price Award for remarkable contributions to the quantitative studies of science in 1999. During his 37yearsof scientific career, 276articles have been individually or collaboratively indexed with his name in Web of Science. Thirty five out of 276 papers were single authored by Glänzel, and the other 241 ones were collaborative works. Glänzel’s highest level of scientific productivity with 122 documents was during the years 2008 to 2017, when he was 53 to 62 years old. Scientometrics was his preferred journal. Glänzel has mainly collaborated with researchers from Hungary and Belgium, specifically some of the KU Leuven and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. For instance, outstanding researchers including Schubert, Thijs, Braun and Zhang are part his authorship teams. Professor Glänzel has done considerable work in areas such as hybrid clustering, text mining, citation analysis, bibliometric analysis, scientometric indicators, altmetrics, and others.

Increase in the use of social media has enabled academic studies to be spoken and shared on these platforms. With the widespread use of these networks, concepts such as the number of shares, as well as the number of citations have been among the conspicuous determinants on the visibility, popularity or even usefulness of research works. In this study, Mendeley reader activities and features of 1560 articles that were written by Turkish authors in the field of Economics, Econometrics and Finance between 2016-2018 in Scopus were analysed. By calculating the correlation between citations and Mendeley readership counts, it has been investigated whether Mendeley reader statistics are able to be evaluated as an alternative metric for citations. International cooperation with social network analysis was also evaluated. According to Mendeley results, the articles have a wide audience from various disciplines and different statuses. Correlation between citations and readership counts was statistically significant. When network structure is evaluated, international cooperation has become more concentrated over the years.

Eugene Garfield 's contribution to the global informetrics and scientometrics research is significant . In this paper, a scientometric analysis of Eugene Garfield’s 50 highly cited papers is performed. His papers were published in 32 journals including top-ranked journals such as Nature and Science . The top 15 keywords with the strongest citation bursts from 1989 to 2009 and references with strong citation bursts are presented. Co-citation analysis and bibliographic coupling analysis based on source journals using VOSviewer were carried out. The result revealed that keywords 'citation relationship', 'scientific journals', 'biological journal’ and 'self-citations' started to burst/hotspot in 2002. The term 'citation analysis' has the highest number of four years' popularity as citation burst. The study further revealed that the top 50 publications of Eugene Garfield gained 8441 citations of the total citations of 9121 from 254 published documents. Garfield has Total Link Strength of 35 and has received 8511 citations which comes to 93.31% of the total citations and proved his dominance over the collaborators. Ninety percent of the papers (45) published in the USA and above 92% of the citations (8419) were also received from the USA's publications. Just five papers in three journals received 4856 citations (53.23%) of the total 9121 citations. These three journals include three papers in Science (with 3027); one each in Journal of the American Medical Association (with 1323 citations) and The Canadian Medical Association Journal (with 606 citations).

Plagiarism is a growing concern for academia across the globe. Several factors influence the behaviour of the researcher towards plagiarism. The UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in HEIs) Regulation, 2018 was notified to promote academic integrity in HEIs and curb plagiarism. However, this regulation has many gaps which need to be addressed in the quest for achieving academic integrity. This paper is an attempt to identify these gaps in the regulation. It also attempts to address the over reliance of academic fraternity on Plagiarism Detection Tools.

The study examines 1220 digital library research papers published by BRICS countries during the period 2000 to 2019. Bibliographic data on the research papers were collected from Web of Science database. It is found that maximum number of publications (225) were two-authored. The Degree of collaboration is 0.84, collaborative index is 4.14, the collaboration co-efficient is 0.59 and the modified collaboration co-efficient is 0.61. Among all the BRICS countries, China has contributed the most number of papers [690 (56.58%)] followed by India with 205 (16.80%) contributions. Lotka's law was not found to fit with the observed author's productivity of the study. The study concludes that there is increased research on digital library in BRICS countries.
