This is the second in a series of three articles on fault finding. This article looks at the situation where pupils are adding components to PIC-based PCBs (where the PCB itself is fault-free) and the ways in which the PIC can be used during the build process to simplify testing and fault finding. The author describes how on-board programmable controllers can be used to identify faults on such PIC-based PCBs.
