Nowadays, socially harmful (criminal) acts are often carried out, which are punishable by a certain penalty and their detection poses a major challenge to the services and the wider justice system. The analysis of such acts requires a continuous improvement of knowledge of the methods used by the perpetrators, as well as the ways in which traces are detected and secured, which can then be used to identify the perpetrator. In each forensic trace there is a coded lot of information, often unavailable without the use of special thought and research processes. The publication defines forensic traces, presents their division, functions, and discusses ways to reveal and secure such traces. It also points to the impact of crime detection on citizens’ sense of security, as a result of awareness that the perpetrator of the crime will be punished and that law enforcement, using the latest developments in science and technology, are working increasingly more efficiently.

The family is the target of interest for many scientific fields. The family is often defined as the basic social cell, irreplaceable and a fundamental element of every society. The purpose of this article is to attempt to place a family in three dimensions, in the aspect of three security pillars, as a security entity that is responsible for shaping and modelling a security culture. The aim of this article is to try to establish a family position in three dimensions, in the three pillars of security, as a security entity responsible for shaping and modelling a security culture. A culture of security is a continuous process in which the family as an entity acts in many fields and in many ways. This process is aimed at shaping the desired social attitudes, behaviors, norms and values and developing personality under the influence of many factors, events, experiences and beliefs. The article tries to confirm the thesis that the family is the foundation on which society is built and should be under special protection, with its security unconditionally belonging to the mainstream activities in every sphere of human life.

In the modern world we are observing more and more new threats to the proper functioning of the family. One of them, which is not new, but rather intensified and more and more perceived in the social space, is devoted to this article. Domestic violence, because this is the case, is undoubtedly the worst type of violence and the most harmful, because it is experienced from the closest people who we should receive love, goodness and understanding. The article presents the complexity of the problem of intra-family violence. It presents the concept of violence, the form of harm and its influence on the functioning of the family. The issues are related to the process of counteracting domestic violence are pointed out, the forms of helping victims of violence by social organizations and therapeutic centers, as well as actions against perpetrators of domestic violence are emphasized. It also shows the scale of domestic violence which occurs, and an analysis of the assistance activity provided in 2015–2018 in Przemyśl district, which was based on reports of institutions helping victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. We should consider what needs to be changed to better protect families against violence and reduce its scale. Domestic violence is a big problem and a threat to the proper functioning of the family, so coherent actions of different institutions are needed to achieve the intended goal.

The aim of the study is to present the concept of the process of qualification to service in State Security Service, which was established on February 1, 2018 in lieu of the Government Protection Bureau. All requirements for candidates participating in the recruitment process to State Security Service are set out by relevant laws and ordinances of the Minister of Interior and Administration. The specificity of tasks carried out by the officers of the State Security Service requires superior physical fitness, high resistance to stressful situations and teamwork skills. The units responsible for recruitment make high demands on candidates in the face of changing security threats for the most important people in the state. Properly conducted recruitment process let the units to select the best candidates for officers who will ensure the highest standards of implementation of protective measures in the country as well as abroad. The article presents the author’s concept of such a process. For this purpose, theoretical research methods were used and documents related to the selection process for the State Security Service were analysed.

The aim of the article is to present the phenomenon of bioterrorism and related threats in a global and national (Polish) perspective. Experiences with using biological weapons, international conventions and disarmament processes induced the prohibition of this kind of weapons in majority of countries. However, low production costs, facility of transfer and large range of biological weapons may be appealing to potential terrorists and extremist groups. The author analyses contemporary threats and problems connected with possibility of using biological weapons by unauthorized persons. He discusses the historical overview of biological agents, the response system for the threats they cause, Polish and global legal regulations, as well as selected cases of attacks. It leads to the conclusion that continuous improvement of laws concerning biological agents is needed, as well as the preparation of military and civil structures for a potential attack and related crisis and military operations.

The subject of interest in the presented text is the possible relationship between a number of personality traits of the individual and its functioning in social relation. Dealing with the psychopathic features of personality and their importance in social relations, the authors pay attention to psychopathy, as well as narcissistic features and Machiavellianism in individual’s activity. These three traits since the beginning of the 21st century have aroused vivid interest of researchers and therapists attempting empirical verification of hypotheses in this area. It is also worth indicating. The above-mentioned categories of behavior form the dark triad of personality. Researchers draw our attention to clinical interpretations regarding diagnostic criteria enabling the recognition of psychopathic features and the broader dark triad. This sometimes carry on to referring to the concept of sub-clinical psychopathy that does not meet the diagnostic criteria used in the classification of mental disorders. The authors also try to interpret the negative role of these features in social relations.

The study focuses on theoretical and application contexts of a Supervisory Board of a limited liability company in the Slovak law and order. The author not only takes into consideration the theoretical and legal segmentation, she also allows for its application dimension, especially in relation to competence of company executives and the General Meeting. In this regard she uses arguments of respected professionals from the field of Czech and Slovak professional literature, incorporates her own findings determined by her previous scientific and pedagogical activities and based on all this she presents her interpretation of selected aspects that can be considered as principal aspects of the corporation law.

Modern terrorism is often associated with Middle East Islamic fundamentalists. This association is a result of violent terrorist attacks that have been carried out in the past few years, in various forms and according to diverse methods. As a consequence, terrorism started to be perceived as a serious problem by the public. It is also the case in Poland, where real terrorist threats occur. The paper presents a multi-faceted assessment, with respect to substantive law and statistics, of the level of terrorist threats in Poland in the years 2010–2016, regarding specific threats as well as the response of special services. The results show that the level of terrorist threat in Poland is not high, even though terrorism encompasses a whole range of crimes penalised in many legal statutes. The high efficiency of Polish special services and the Polish police in this field results from them using in an effective way legally allowed measures of counteracting terrorism.

While on duty, soldiers are exposed to severe stress, and mental condition has a direct impact on the efficacy of their performance. The paper shows how the specificity of soldiers’ work affects their mental health. The importance of the role of psychologists in the army is emphasized, and the consequences of negligence in soldiers’ mental care are indicated. The way in which the mental health of soldiers is protected in Poland, by the state itself and by the institutions established for this purpose, is also characterised. Special attention is paid to mental health care for the soldiers that take part in foreign military missions, who are exposed to psychological trauma as a result of isolation from the family and friends, and as a result of being placed in a new cultural and religious environment. On the basis of the above, the necessity of implementing new system solutions to ensure the effective psychological protection of soldiers is indicated.

The publication is a summary of the pilot studies carried out by Comdrev.PL company, a provider of a service named PROTECTI, from February to April 2018 in four primary schools in Slupsk. The study’s objective was to monitor pupils’ online activities while at school and using the school network. The author made a hypothesis that primary school pupils, while at school, do visit inappropriate websites. The analysis of the visited pages, based on the thematic catalogue by Comdrew.PL, shown that inappropriate content has indeed been accessed. The scale of the phenomenon turned out to be worrying, thus, as early as within the study duration, school authorities decided to take countermeasures by blocking access to inappropriate content. Therefore, the analysis included both the inappropriate content that the pupils actually viewed from February to April 2018 and the content they wanted to visit at that time but access to it was blocked. The fundamental conclusion of the research is that it is necessary to filter the content available in the school network and to block access to the inappropriate content so as to ensure the proper realization of the school’s educational tasks.

The analysis of the visited pages, based on the thematic catalogue by Comdrew.PL, shown that inappropriate content has indeed been accessed. The scale of the phenomenon turned out to be worrying, thus, as early as within the study duration, school authorities decided to take countermeasures by blocking access to inappropriate content. Therefore, the analysis included both the inappropriate content that the pupils actually viewed from February to April 2018 and the content they wanted to visit at that time but access to it was blocked. The fundamental conclusion of the research is that it is necessary to filter the content available in the school network and to block access to the inappropriate content so as to ensure the proper realization of the school’s educational tasks.\u0000\u0000","PeriodicalId":432439,"journal":{"name":"Kultura Bezpieczeństwa.
