Abstract:A story following a daughter and mother after the death of the family’s patriarch. A student of biology, the daughter performs experiments and studies of various wildlife, including a flock of zebra finches who had been bred in captivity, never having seen the sky. The story explores themes of grief, mother-daughter relationships, and science-based existentialism.
