: Globalization processes are relatively new phenomena, that have increasing trend in the industry, and mature insights into the complexity of management systems operating in a global environment are still developing. Therefore, this study used a systemic perspective to generate an initial body of knowledge about the challenges faced by global quality systems after the corporate expansion processes that can be drive from strategic partnerships and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and be result in multinational companies. Data was collected from intensive field research concerning the development processes of 18 international companies for three years and analyzed using the Grounded Theory methodology. The analysis yielded the key variables that influence the work environment, constraints, interfaces, and goals of global quality management systems, as functional systems within complex, multinational, multi-interface companies operating in a competitive, dynamic

Curriculum Setting and Significance of Embedded Education in Application-Oriented Universities —— A Case Study of Jiangsu University Jingjiang College 应用型大学嵌入式教育课程设置及其意义——以江苏大学靖江学院为例

: The education mode of higher education in China is upgrading and transforming, and the embedded education mode arises at the historic moment. Application-oriented universities need to reposition the teaching courses and methods of embedded education mode from the purpose of cultivating embedded talents with innovative and entrepreneurial ability. Jiangsu University Jingjiang College uses embedded education mode to set up embedded courses. As a basic research of embedded teaching method, starting from the meaning of "embedded" in the computer system, by expanding and embedding the multi-category plug-ins of the system, the computer system teaching is combined with artificial intelligence and diversified embedded resources to carry out teaching, thus expanding the innovation and entrepreneurship education practice of computer, engineering education and other professional talent systems. The core goal is to cultivate students’ innovative consciousness, give full play to the advantages of educational background and cross-disciplinary integration, explore entrepreneurial opportunities from cross fields

Analysis of the Factors Influencing Maize Postharvest Losses and Effect of Agricultural Inputs Supply on Productivity in Rwanda: A Case of Gatsibo and Nyagatare 卢旺达玉米采后损失影响因素及农业投入品供给对生产力的影响分析——以加茨博和尼亚加塔雷为例

In the world, food demand and an increasing population remains a major global concern, where more than one-third of food is lost or wasted in postharvest operations. Reducing the postharvest losses, especially in developing countries including Rwanda, could be a sustainable solution to increase food availability, reduce pressure on natural resources, eliminate hunger and improve farmers’ livelihoods. The main objective of this study is to conduct an economic analysis of the factors influencing maize postharvest losses and effect of agricultural input supply on productivity of smallholder’s farmers in Rwanda. A Case of Gatsibo and Nyagatare districts. A multistage sampling technique was employed involving purposive sampling of two districts in Eastern Province and three sectors in each district. A sample size of 110 respondents were proportionally selected from 562 farmers of maize crops in six sectors of the study area. Multiple regression analysis was employed to identify the factors influencing maize production losses; budgetary technique analysis was used to evaluate the profitability of improved seeds, while difference in difference method was employed to determine the effect of agricultural inputs supply to farmers of the study area. The results indicated that variables such as weeds, pests, diseases, and rodents have statistically significant influenced maize postharvest losses in study area at (p values <0.01). While the distance to market and storage facilities influenced the maize postharvest losses at 5% and 10% respectively. The most destructive rodent pests in study area like different corners of Rwanda are multimammate rat, and birds. The overall average maize yield is 2274 kg per ha for both before and after agricultural inputs delivery to the farmers of Gatsibo and Nyagatare districts. The difference in yields between before and after for the farmers is highly significant (p<0.01). The gross margin before and after is 174,895 per ha and 289,956 per ha respectively. The p-value for test of difference in means of gross margin for before and after was 0.01. This suggests that the gross margin for users of agricultural improved seeds is significantly higher after inputs delivery than before. The figure showed that the difference is 1034 kg/ha of yield, and 115061 of gross margin indicating that maize crop is more profitable in study are.

The Current Laboratory Quality Managements Practice in Ethiopian Public Hospitals from July 2012 up to March 2013 2012年7月至2013年3月,埃塞俄比亚公立医院实验室质量管理实践

Background: Accurate clinical laboratory testing service is key component clinical service to diagnosis disease, follow up and treatment patient care. The levels of quality management’s practice in Ethiopia were not adequately assessed. Therefore, this study was aimed to determine the quality of clinical laboratory managements practice and associated factors in across the country. Method: this study was used cross-sectional study design with quantitative approach using minimum standard set out by the ministry. No need of sampling technique and sample size determination rather all public hospital laboratories who conducted the report through DHIS2 were included in the study. Data was collected by quality officer of hospital itself. SPSS version 20 was used for data entry, data cleaning and data analysis was used to determine distribution and comparing the mean was also used to see significance difference across the reporting time, level of hospitals and regions. Result: Highest mean score of laboratory quality management practice 232 (92%) was seen in related to establishing system for document and record managements. The practice in related laboratory information managements was 220 (87%) and laboratory supply supplies managements system 218 (87%) and incident handling system 211 (84%). Lowest mean score 101 (40%) were observed in the standard related to cold chain managements system for blood and blood product until used by the prescriber. There is no significance difference between mean score of laboratory quality managements practice across the time, level of hospitals and region but better implementation score laboratory quality managements practice were observed in specialized compressive as compared to general and primary hospitals. Conclusion: In considering all the questioners were a minimum standard set out by the ministry, none of the standard was addressed 100%. However, better implementation were seen on standard related to establishes system for records and documents management, laboratory information and supplies management systems, and incident handling and reporting system. Low internal quality control (IQC) and EQA) and have no availing back up equipment. Half of public hospitals laboratories were not fully engaged in mobilization of blood donation in community awareness programmed. More than half of the public hospitals laboratories had no appropriate cold chain management system for blood product and blood until used by prescribers. Better implementation of LQM was seen in specialized compressive hospital as compared to general and primary hospitals.

Organizations in the public sector are under increasing pressure to enhance their efficiency in order to deliver better services to citizens. At the same time, the resources available to public organizations have reduced during the past years due to the recent great recession, forcing them to find ways to make the most of their limited resources. Considering that people are recognized as the most significant organizational resource, it is not surprising that organizations in the private and public sector employ Human Resources Management (HRM) practices in order to become more effective. Despite the importance of human resources and the fact that public – sector organizations have particular characteristics that make implementing HR practices difficult, little attention has been devoted to the specific field of HRM in the public sector. Public organizations still lack of effective human resources management practices and effective tools to systematically monitor and improve the implemented practices. This paper provides insight on effective HRM practices in the public sector and proposes a framework for assessing the effectiveness of organizations in implementing such practices. Considering that employees are the ones who are most affected by HR policies, the framework is based on their perspectives in order to analyze organizational performance and prioritize HR practices. The model is tailored to the particular characteristics of Local Authorities in Greece but it can easily be extended to other public organizations and enables the identification of critical dimensions and the prioritization of HR action plans.

COVID-19 in Ethiopia: Policy Stance, Leadership Response, and Challenges 2019冠状病毒病在埃塞俄比亚:政策立场、领导应对和挑战

International community impacted by the incidence like COVID-19 in different point of time. The virus caused by RNA virus that belongs to the family of CORONA (Latin Crown, from the structure of the virus under electron microscope) virus. The world both developed and underdeveloped nations has been challenged/challenging by the virus significantly. It was the first reported in China in Wuhan City at the end of 2019. The disease began to create destruction and the devastating effect of the pandemic forced the World Health Organization to declare it as a global pandemic. COVID-19 is animals and the virus spread in the form of human-to-human transmission. Physical contact and respiratory routs are the two most important well-established routs of transmission of the virus. Poor hand hygiene practice, overcrowding, and close physical contacts like hand shaking contributes for the fast spread of the virus with in very short period. In China the disease was first recognized shows educating the public is proven as a key in preventing transmission. The main objective was to explain and explore the practice of leadership response, policy stance and challenges of COVID-19 in Ethiopia. The report includes describing the response of leadership and policy stance of stance of Ethiopian government towards COVID-19 lesson from Ethiopia. The major purpose of this desk review was to arrive at synthesis opinion, analyses the data, evaluate the practice of COVID-19 protection, and provide possible conclusion and recommendation to for further regulatory directives and research issues of the government of Ethiopia. Qualitative research techniques have been used for the desk review. The method includes literature review by analyzing secondary data, research findings, and case analysis. The major governmental response of Ethiopia was like closed schools due to COVID-19 on 16 March 2020, following the declaration of the virus as a pandemic by the World Health Organization on 12 March 2020. The Ministry of Education of Ethiopia developed a ‘Concept Note for Education Sector COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan’ on 3 April 2020. The national COVID-19 prevention guideline dictates the roles and responsibilities of Health care workers’ Rights, Employers and managers in health facilities and Health care workers. Though, the government doing things well, since June 2020, the number of identified COVID-19 cases has increased substantially in Ethiopia. There are insufficient network capabilities, high-quality digital education resources, and teacher capacity in use of information technology, and online teacher-student interaction and emotional communication.

Six Concepts for Brain-Friendly Leadership: Leading Your Organization Smart and Easy 大脑友好型领导的六个概念:聪明而轻松地领导你的组织

Employees often comment that they work many hours a day but see little beneficial impact. These people possess adequate intelligence and work diligently, often to the point of losing sleep in favor of additional work time. Researchers have long known that sleep is vital to mood maintenance and body wellness. Does this brain-centered issue have implications for work efficiency, and do we as leaders need to know this to better lead? Recent improvements in technology have provided additional knowledge on how the brain functions. These discoveries enable researchers to see how a person processes information and which factors––sleep, for example––influence how well that processing occurs. However, it seems that these beneficial efforts in cognitive psychology and neuroscience are not applied effectively among the work force. Hence, this paper will connect six foundational concepts, from neuroscience and cognitive psychology (i.e., positive environment, movement, rest, non-monetary reward, repetition, and using gut feelings) to the field of leadership in effort to augment the emphasis of this burgeoning science on that field of study. These six concepts are not at all difficult to achieve in the workplace. Smart leaders are encouraged to take these small steps toward fostering a brain friendly workplace.

Global Quality Management Systems: Strategies in a Challenging, Complex Environment of Mergers, Acquisitions, and Strategic Partnerships 全球质量管理体系:在充满挑战、复杂的兼并、收购和战略合作环境中的战略

The relative newness of globalization processes means that insights into the complexities of management systems operating in a global environment are yet to mature. No single definition for global quality management systems (QMS) has been accepted in the literature, and there is a dearth of systematic research, models and methodologies for dealing with the complex challenges posed by globalization. These challenges are further compounded when organizations use business and strategic processes such as mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships to accelerate growth. This article fills a gap in the field of global QMS development in light of these processes, and presents a preliminary attempt to develop theories and methods for analyzing global QMS in the dynamic field of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. Data was collected from intensive field research concerning the development processes of 18 multinational companies over three years. Grounded Theory methodology was used for developing a nascent theory, a starting point not only for further research but also for developing a global QMS strategy, which is currently conspicuous in its absence. Key variables that influence the work environment, constraints, interfaces, and goals of a global QMS were formulated by reviewing the development processes of the participating multinational companies, and identifying the theoretical, practical, and gaps of leading strategic, operational, and marketing characteristics and needs generally and specifically of the QMS as related to M&A. The themes articulate the significant issues and challenges that global QMS face following M&A and can serve as a preliminary skeleton for constructing a body of knowledge concerning the proactive perception of the conduct of a global quality system experiencing the challenges of M&A and global expansion. This article lays a potential foundation for broader and deeper research on a nascent theory, that will be able to guide global QMS functions in dealing with the dynamic process of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. The impact assessment serves as a tool for identifying and developing the proper QMS integration strategy, thereby helping plan global QMS strategy and identifying the steps necessary for its effective implementation. Integration of strategic, operational, marketing, and QMS assessments before conducting the merger and acquisition (M&A) augments the functional level of management and supports developing a strategy for integrating the global QMS in the acquired company.
