Zakat Capital Assistance Program (ZCAP) is a method employed to allocate zakat funds with the aim of enhancing the quality of life of the recipients. It entails providing financial aid without requiring the recipients to repay the funds. Despite the considerable advantages offered by this program, the number of applications for zakat assistance in the capital assistance category is comparatively lower than those for cash assistance. Consequently, the purpose of this research is to investigate the factors and challenges associated with the ZCAP from the perspective of both zakat officers and recipients. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a structured interview tool to engage with the participants. Through interviews conducted with zakat officials and selected recipients, it was determined that attitudes, knowledge regarding financial records, and the structure of the ZCAP itself are among the influential factors that determine the success or failure of the program. The research findings indicate that the ZCAP has the potential to assist the asnaf, although there is room for improvement in order to achieve a more profound impact through this initiative. This study aims to provide valuable insights for the enhancement of the ZCAP implementation, ultimately fostering the emergence of successful Muslim entrepreneurs.

During the fifth century AH (eleventh century AD), Andalusia witnessed historical events that historians called the “Fitna of al-Andalus”, which had an impact on various political and social levels, especially after the end of the rule of the Amiriden in 399 AH-1009 AD. During this period, Andalusia entered into ongoing conflicts between different classes of society. Moreover, this conflict increased in a dangerous way, threatening Islam and Muslims. It resulted in a new formation of political features for the map of Andalusia, distributed among the various actors from the social groups within their areas due to the political conditions that forced them to do so—with this policy, incidents and wars emerged between the various ethnic groups, perpetuating a state of insecurity and instability in the lives and properties of the various population groups. Ethnic conflict has been established between the Andalusian, Barbarian, and Ṣaqālibah communities, fueled by the spirit of tribal affiliation, which has become the main factor in the movement of strife and the determination of the relationship between the segments of Andalusian society within a tribal framework. In this study, we follow the descriptive and analytical methods of the course of events to highlight the goal of the tribal dimension and its role in feeding the nervous conflict in Andalusia, which destroyed Islamic civilization.

Scholars play a significant role in a community so that they can form a knowledgeable, virtuous, and civilised society. The spread of Islam and intellectual interweaving from the Middle East had a positive impact until the emergence of authoritative scholars in the archipelago. Among the Nusantara scholars was Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat (TGNA), an influential scientist who played a major role in the fields of science, preaching, education, administration, and politics. His vast influence across so many fields has attracted the interest of many scholars to study his life and his legacy. This paper aims to identify writings and studies related to TGNA over three decades, from the 1980s to the 2000s. The methodology used was based on bibliometric analysis methods for writing and research, whether in the form of theses, dissertations, books, or scientific articles. These data were obtained from databases of scholarly articles and libraries, and the website of the Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat Institute of Thought (TPTG). The results found that studies and literature about TGNA have been written since the late 1980s and are still being written until now. Up to the time that the present study was conducted, a total of 131 writings and studies about TGNA had been presented in Malay and English, and published locally or abroad. The findings of this study can provide a general overview of the current writing and research trends about TGNA and the direction of future research related to it.

This paper discusses the Islamic tolerance of other faiths and belief systems. Islam also advocates tolerance of diversity. The conflict between religions can be avoided through tolerance; thus, harmony and unity between religions can be fostered in a pluralistic society. Therefore, the discussion of this article focuses on the Quranic view of practical tolerance to avoid conflicts which are a direct result of failure to appreciate the values of tolerance which underpin Islamic teachings. Using the documentation research method, this article found that problems or misunderstandings are common in all religions but their teachings, especially Islam, must be interpreted in ways that nurture unity and understanding between various cultures and religious communities. The implications of this study show that Allah has told his servant to be fair to Muslims and non-Muslims, no matter who they are or where they come from, and to let them practice their faith. Tolerance in the Quran is based on the belief that good is more vital than evil. Because of this, the Quran teaches its followers to always forgive, especially about other religions, to have a noble mind, a forgiving attitude, and humane values, and to accept the rights of others. Tolerating differences in Islam involves coming to terms with history, understanding, and differences between Islam and modernity, which must first come from within Islam.

The Quran has been the main source of knowledge for all humankind throughout the ages. Engineering is one of the branches of knowledge that impacts technology development. There are verses in the Quran that explain this engineering science indirectly. The stories about engineering in the Quran can also provide valuable lessons for humans and serve as preparation for the afterlife. However, discussions about the Quranic verses concerning various branches in the engineering field and their influence on the lives of engineers still need to be completed in journals. Therefore, this study presents the verses and stories in the field of engineering as well as their effects on the divine values in the life of an engineer. Library research is used to achieve the objective by referring to the Quran and the book Tafsīr Fī Zilāl al-Qur’ān as primary references. Writings on general history, education, and engineering are also consulted to achieve the objective. This study finds that the Quranic verses significantly affect the divine values of individuals involved in this engineering field and positively impact the formation of morals as a Muslim. This effect is closely related to the appreciation of the Quranic verses and efforts to practice them daily. The Quran was revealed as a guide and provision for humans to worship Allah. This writing can also open the eyes of every Muslim to the expansive interpretation of the Quran and convince their hearts that the Quran is a miracle that does not contradict scientific theories.

The media in the West has portrayed Islam negatively after tragic events like 9/11, accusing them of being barbaric and terrorists. Not only has this portrayal affected the views of Western people but also those in Far Eastern countries like Japan and South Korea. In South Korea, the anti-Muslim stance of media and Christian organizations has deteriorated further the reputation of Islam in the eyes of the general population. Utilizing qualitative and library research methods, this paper seeks to explore the longstanding relationship between Islam and South Korea, starting with a historical overview then followed by the attitude of South Korean media and Christian organisations towards Islam in the country which aim to tarnish their image and prevent their acceptance in the country. Moving to the 21st century, the paper will then give insight on the South Korean young generation’s views on Islam, and the role played by social platforms such as YouTube that spread Islamic related content as an attempt to counter Islamophobia. The findings will show that South Korean media, influenced by Western media, and Christian organizations, contributed significantly to the negative perception of Islam in the country. Notwithstanding this, there arise a new generation of South Koreans, who, out of their curiosity, seeks out and disseminate accurate information about Islam via social media hence, made a positive impact from their sharing. This paper ends with a few recommendations for combating the misleading information about Islam spread by the media and Christian organisations in South Korea.

This research seeks a modern phonetic study of the rules of fluids in al-Sūsī’s narration on the authority of Abī ‘Amr. As science is developing rapidly, we should reinforce the old saying of linguists by presenting a new form of research, i.e., generative phonological analysis within the framework of scientific research. More specifically, the study tries to present new rules and opinions for the rules of fluids in the Holy Quran without leaving what the old readers and linguists did, rather presents or suggests phonological rules proposed by Chomsky and Halle instead of mere descriptive explanations. It aims to explain the analysis of fluid sounds found in Quranic verses as well as the distinctive features that affect the fluid sounds in them. Alternatively, the research questions are: What are the fluid sounds found in the Quranic verses, and how do the distinctive features play their role in influencing the fluid sounds in the Quranic verses? The research relied on the analytical approach of Chomsky and Halle in describing the rules of fluid sounds. The research concluded that repeated and side features play important roles in the substitution and rules of fluid sounds. The derivations of the Quranic verses show the role of two traits [± repeated] and [± side] in converting the sound of “rā’” to “lām”, as well as converting the sound of “lām” to “rā’”, in al-Sūsī’s narration on the authority of Abī Amr.

Nursing students are exposed to various difficulties, such as the need to meet academic and clinical expectations, distance from home, and financial constraints. In doing so, they may encounter unpleasant events that might affect their mental health. Mental wellbeing can be enhanced through religion and social support. In this study, the mental health, perceived social support, and religiosity of undergraduate nursing students were evaluated, and any correlations between these aspects were assessed. A cross-sectional study involving socio-demographic data, DASS-21 items, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and a self-rated religiosity scale was conducted among 255 Muslim undergraduate nursing students at a public Islamic university. The result showed that the nursing students had moderate levels of psychological wellbeing (Mean=23.41, SD=+/- 14.352), 83.0% of the students were very religious and sensed a high level of social support, while they had moderate levels of psychological wellbeing (Mean=23.41, SD=+/- 14.352). Levels of religiosity and perceived social support had a significant inverse relationship with the total DASS-21 (rs=0.195, p0.05; rs=0.248, p<0.05). This study demonstrates how protective characteristics - including religiosity, being a third-year student, and perceived parental support can affect mental health. This research may be expanded in future to investigate more protective factors for the population of interest because of the constraints of using a single study setting, the Islamic university.

The traditional medium of preaching, which previously only revolved around oral mediums such as lectures and speeches, needs to be improved with the method of delivery through writing. Badī‘ al-Zamān Sa‘īd Nursī used the pen as the medium of his preaching, resulting in the work Rasā’il al-Nūr, which spread throughout the world. Therefore, this study focuses on the study of Sa‘īd Nursī's form of communication while spreading and delivering da‘wah through jotting styles (bi al- kitābah), such as his masterpiece Rasā’il al-Nūr, letters, and newspapers. This study is a library study, and the analysis is based on the document analysis framework (contents analysis). While the book Rasā’il al-Nūr is the main basis of every topic of discussion and includes some scholars' views on da‘wah communication. Responding to the great potential of Shariah-based economics, various higher education institutions in Indonesia are trying to make breakthroughs by establishing a study program in Islamic economics. The issue stems from the fact that Islamic Economics is offered as a course at several Indonesian higher education institutions. Because economics and shariah have distinct philosophical science scopes, it will indirectly result in epistemological issues in the philosophy of science. These epistemological issues need to be answered and resolved to ensure that the outcomes of these educational programs do not conflict with the goals for which they were established. This study aims to provide solutions to these epistemological problems, particularly in the institutional environment or higher education institutions, and to analyze the Quranic view as well as the position and application of Islamic economics between the influence of economics and Fiqh al-Mu‘āmalah. The methods of content analysis and library research were utilized in this qualitative-descriptive study. The study’s results indicated that Islamic economics is not just a system or norm, as people have previously suspected, but also a scientific discipline discovered through scientific methodology. The position of Islamic economics between the influence of economics and Fiqh al-Mu‘āmalah challenging to combine them. The fundamental difference between them, especially in the epistemological aspect, requires thinking to synergize and integrate into the discipline of Islamic economics.
