Open Innovation Strategies and SMEs’ Performance: The Mediating Role of Eco-Innovation in Environmental Uncertainty 开放创新战略与中小企业绩效:生态创新在环境不确定性中的中介作用

Abstract The current increasing topic around empirical study is environmental issues. Several previous studies examined how open innovation strategies could affect eco-innovation amid research debates about environmental conservation in corporate innovation. This study aims to prove the effect of open innovation strategies on creating eco-innovation to affect SMEs’ sustainable competitive advantage and performance empirically. This study developed and empirically tested the mediating role of eco-innovation on sustainable competitive advantage and performance. A quantitative approach in testing the empirical research model was implemented. A total of 223 SMEs in the batik sector in Yogyakarta were examined. We used purposive sampling approach to select the research sample. The criteria used in the sampling is SMEs batik which has been operating for three years or more. The results revealed that open innovation strategies significantly positively affected eco-innovation while eco-innovation significantly positively affected competitive advantage and SMEs performance. Environmental uncertainty strengthened the eco-innovation relationship on competitive advantage, but not on the SMEs’ performance.

Shopfloor Management – A Tool of Lean Management 车间管理——精益管理的工具

Abstract Lean management is an approach to continuous process optimisation. The methodology involves the entire value chain. The individual links are made more efficient and thus leaner. The main goal of lean management is to use various lean methods, procedures and thinking principles to coordinate all processes and activities in such a way that any kind of waste along the value chain is avoided in a holistic production system. This would result in the following main difficulties: Transporting information quickly and purposefully to the right places in the company. This is where the lean tool of shopfloor Management (SFM) comes into its own. The shopfloor board is the communication platform of SFM. Shopfloor takes place very close to the employees in a direct interaction between employees and managers. Staff are directly involved in the process and should and can contribute their own approaches to solutions. The article provides an overview of the structure of shopfloor management (SFM) and proves that the goals set by the introduction itself – namely the optimised flow of information in the company with the involvement of all employees – are achieved through shopfloor Management. The method of a structured interview with 63 respondents is used to obtain data.

Ethical and Ecological Dilemmas of Environmental Protection 环境保护的伦理与生态困境

Abstract The article analyses the problems (dilemmas) in approach to the environmental protection and management. EU has declared the plan for the Great Reset of global economy and environmental politics. The idea is not new, but the approach is expected to be completely different. While the EU leaders set the strategy of centralisation, there are strong claims for opposite way – decentralisation. The second dilemma we analyse in our article is the problem of European Commission massive support of green investments (including using of renewable sources of energy and focus of environmental protection), especially after lockdowns connected with covid pandemic which meets with the strong negative position of those economical circles which see such types of initiatives as green shooting to the economy. Terra Carta as an integral part of Sustainable Markets Initiative was launched in 2020. The third dilemma we pay our attention is connected with the efficiency of new environmental taxes. The article focuses also on the good practice as can be seen in environmental protection management efforts and green solutions for using and saving energy resources. As an examples we assess the projects supporting use of renewable energy in Africa (e.g. Lights for Africa), Cradle to Cradle Program (C2C) and we go back to the Come2CoM. The whole is analysed in the context of corporate social responsibility.

Building Resilience Attributes of Supply Chains from the Perspective of their Types 从供应链类型角度构建供应链弹性属性

Abstract We are currently dealing with disruptions in supply chains. They come from faulty production systems, in poor organization of distribution processes or are related to external factors, often unseen. Consequently, it is necessary to build resistant chains. This article discusses this topic in the context of the basic types of supply chains, i.e. agile, lean and green. The aim of the study was to assess the types of chains in which the tested production entities are embedded and check if the proposed models of building resilience take this into account. The reason this should be investigated further, is to indicate relationships in areas that are rarely captured in research models. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used in the work. Interviews were conducted in over seventy subjects and a critical analysis of the literature on model of resilient supply chains was performed. As a result of the work undertaken, it can be concluded, inter alia, that in the economic reality, there are hybrid chains in which the characteristics of pro-saving chains prevail. It was also established that the proposed research models for resilient chains should take into account, to greater extent, accents compatible with the nature of the chains occurring an economic reality. It is also necessary to extend their content to include pro-environmental components. At the same time, it is not unequivocal that the chains with the advantage of agility-related attributes are more resistant than the chains in which the greater concentration is attributed to the attributes of lean or green chains. Determining this requires further research.

Integrated Production System on Social Manufacturing: A Simulation Study 社会制造一体化生产系统的仿真研究

Abstract Today, the manufacturing industry must adapt to dynamic customer needs, changing from time to time following market trends. So that the production process in manufacturing requires adjustments, one of which is by forming social manufacturing. This study aims to create an integrated production system model based on social manufacturing, which involves several Socialized Manufacturing Resources (SMR) as manufacturing resources that are socialized to produce a product. The methods used are field observation, literature study, design of a social manufacturing-based production system model, model simulation using ProModel software, and analysis of model simulation results. In this study, the simulation involves four SMRs, each of which makes a part that has been given specifications by the manufacturer based on customer requests. The product produced is the Sanitation Chamber, which is equipped with a control system to monitor reading data via the internet. The model simulation uses the Pro Model software and analyzes resource use, location utilization, and resource costs.

Heat and Power System as an Independent Source of Electric Power. Case Study 热电系统作为一种独立的电力来源。案例研究

Abstract The article describes a student capstone design project completed by a team of five students and implemented by a resort and casino in Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA). This project was completed within the framework of project-based learning (PBL). Students had the opportunity to apply the knowledge that they learned in the classroom in a real-world application. Students also had the opportunity to work as a team which was supervised by the faculty. The outcome of the project provided valuable experience in creating of grid, a reliable source of energy. The heat generated as a by-product was used for the purpose of heating hot water and a swimming pool as well as space heating for the hotel and casino during the winter. In the summertime the excessive amount of heat was used to dehumidify the air in the hotel and casino. Dehumidifying the air increased the level of comfort in the hotel and casino as well as in the enclosed swimming pools area. The article is focusing on the cost effectiveness of the off-grid heat-and-power solution. The net present value and internal rate of return as well as the payback time were calculated.

Cognitive Technologies – Are We in Danger of Humanizing Machines and Dehumanizing Humans? 认知技术——我们是否面临着将机器人性化和将人类人性化的危险?

Abstract The purpose of this article is to introduce some of the problems arising from the rapid development and raising the status of machines and the increasing disregard for human rights in the context of the use of cognitive technologies. Cognitive technologies are highly acclaimed and are being introduced into almost all aspects of life, especially in business. The article asks the question of whether the use of these technologies leads to a gradual humanization of machines while dehumanizing humans. The article is purely theoretical and based on a literature study of selected bibliographic items. On the basis of the analyzed texts an attempt was made to introduce the concept of artificial intelligence, cognitive technologies and algorithms. It also attempts to diagnose the state of work on the regulation of the legal situation related to the development of artificial intelligence and cognitive technologies, as well as the status of robots. The philosophical concept of dehumanization and its selected examples are also outlined. The discussion leads to the conclusion that the pace of development of cognitive technologies, overtaking the human ability to comprehend them, poses a threat of machines getting out of human control.

Cognitive technologies are highly acclaimed and are being introduced into almost all aspects of life, especially in business. The article asks the question of whether the use of these technologies leads to a gradual humanization of machines while dehumanizing humans. The article is purely theoretical and based on a literature study of selected bibliographic items. On the basis of the analyzed texts an attempt was made to introduce the concept of artificial intelligence, cognitive technologies and algorithms. It also attempts to diagnose the state of work on the regulation of the legal situation related to the development of artificial intelligence and cognitive technologies, as well as the status of robots. The philosophical concept of dehumanization and its selected examples are also outlined. Accuracy of Hourly Demand Forecasting of Micro Mobility for Effective Rebalancing Strategies 面向有效再平衡策略的微交通小时需求预测的准确性

Abstract The imbalance in bike-sharing systems between supply and demand is significant. Therefore, these systems need to relocate bikes to meet customer needs. The objective of this research is to increase the efficiency of bike-sharing systems regarding rebalancing problems. The prediction of the demand for bike sharing can enhance the efficiency of a bike-sharing system for the operation process of rebalancing in terms of the information used in planning by proposing an evaluation of algorithms for forecasting the demand for bikes in a bike-sharing network. The historical, weather and holiday data from three distinct databases are used in the dataset and three fundamental prediction models are adopted and compared. In addition, statistical approaches are included for selecting variables that improve the accuracy of the model. This work proposes the accuracy of different models of artificial intelligence techniques to predict the demand for bike sharing. The results of this research will assist the operators of bike-sharing companies in determining data concerning the demand for bike sharing to plan for the future. Thus, these data can contribute to creating appropriate plans for managing the rebalancing process.

The Implementation of the Conjunction of Lean Six Sigma and Industry 4.0: A Case Study in the Czech Republic 精益六西格玛与工业4.0结合的实施——以捷克为例

Abstract As advanced technologies are becoming a natural part of the industrial environment, the influence of these technologies on organizational practices is becoming more expanding. In this paper, an attempt was made to understand the conjunction of Lean Six Sigma and Industry 4.0. The study was conducted in the Czech Republic and qualitative data was gathered from 10 companies. The information on the benefits, weaknesses and challenges of the conjunction was summarized. For the research purposes literature review and qualitative analysis were performed. It was found out that, although the conjunction is connected with challenges, the perspectives are beneficial for industrial companies. The data generated also allowed to introduce the readiness assessment model for the implementation of the conjunction based on 4 categories: technological, managerial, financial and human. This information could be used for theoretical and practical purposes for the creation of a successful Lean Six Sigma pattern in Industry 4.0.

The New Model of the Engineering Education Using Digitalization and Innovative Methods 运用数字化和创新方法的工程教育新模式

Abstract The sustainability of engineering education depends on a strategic vision in university education. The strategic vision of education at technical universities is orientated to knowledge, digitization, online education, innovative methods in education, all forms of Management and business education platform. The main goal of this article is the creation of the model of engineering education at the technical university based on synergy effect of the economic subjects of study, digitalization, all forms of management, and innovative didactic methods with direction to future education. In this research we realized project “Student firms” by using digitalization, e-learning approach in education and connecting all form of management as in business environment. Results of the implemented “Student Firms” project at the university recorded benefits in improving students’ key competencies, soft skills, social competencies, financial, economic competencies, and their impact on the level of evaluation of subjects of study. The output of the research was the design of a model of engineering education at the university. This model can be a tool for making changes in education at university for his sustainability in the future.
