El presente texto explora, principalmente desde las investigaciones de Michel Foucault, las diversas formas politicas, economicas y sociales que surgieron de la relacion entre ciudad y medicina a la luz de la instalacion del concepto de “poblacion” como problema moderno. Centrando el analisis en el desarrollo de las tecnologias de administracion de la poblacion, se busca explicar como entre los siglos XVIII y XIX, el higienismo, la salubridad y la medicina ejercieron una accion que opero mas alla de los limites clasicos definidos por la enfermedad, la asistencia y el cuidado, logrando instalarse progresivamente en diversos campos de la existencia individual y colectiva. Esto significo que el proceso de socializacion de la medicina trajera consigo la “medicalizacion” de la cuidad y de quienes la habitaban.

Prolonged hospitalization of drug users in Therapeutic Communities (TC) has become a public policy in Brazil. The aim of this study was to understand and analyze the functioning of a TC, considering the activities carried out there, the relationships established and the intervention process. Five visits to a TC were carried out. These visits were registered in a field diary. The notes were analyzed seeking to understand discursive features of the functioning of the TC and the impact of its functioning on the subjectivity of the users. The activities were labor therapy and group activities, and the Christian religious believes were explored. Relations were hierarchical, using strategies of control, confrontation and construction of guilt. Activities positioned the users as impulsive, addicts and deviants. The influence of the limited access to consumer goods and citizenship rights in the life trajectories of the users were not taken into consideration. Their problems with drugs were treated only as something internal, creating only strategies towards reconstructing the user's identity.

In this work I seek to understand the articulation point where the speeches are inscribed in individuals and in their daily practices. More specifically how the discourses reinforce (or reject), in their circulation, certain aspects relevant to social orders. For this, the newspaper “Meia Hora”, a printed publication largely circulated in the state of Rio de Janeiro/Brazil, was analyzed. Data collection and analysis were guided by conceptual tools coming from different authors who work with speech analysis, seeking to circumscribe as they are formatted and broadcast content covered by the publication, identifying both the linguistic devices that are used as the semantic forms, meaning that seek to enter the consumer these productions in a certain idealization of what is "popular".

In this paper we present a research design framed through feminist epistemology. Our research proposal is to study the impacts of male unemployment on the division of household chores and responsibilities in a suburb of Barcelona. Understanding the complexity of this type of research proposal, we have created a theoretical framework that allows us to understand all the aspects that we have to take in to account to undertake this study. Does (involuntary) male unemployment mean that men take on more domestic and caretaking responsibilities? Does the economic crisis change gender roles, based in the dichotomy of breadwinner/caregiver? This design draws from an array of previous studies that demonstrate that negotiations within the home often exceed the total amount of income.

Este articulo hace una presentacion de la “sociocibernetica” —el estudio de los fenomenos y problemas sociales como sistemas— como un campo donde se registran tensiones entre diferentes corrientes y programas, tanto de la sociologia como de las ciencias de sistemas y de la complejidad. El trabajo consta de 3 partes: en la primera se introducen los antecedentes y origenes de la sociocibernetica; en la segunda se presentan dos programas sociociberneticos particulares —la Teoria de los Sistemas Complejos (TSC) de Rolando Garcia y la Teoria de los Sistemas Sociales (TSS) de Niklas Luhmann—; en el tercer apartado se discuten algunas convergencias y divergencias del sentido que adquiere la complejidad en este enfoque y estos programas con respecto a las “ciencias de la complejidad”.

This paper aims to gather contributions in literature that have been useful to us to build the relationship between Playfulness, Technologies and Actor-Network Theory, escaping as much as possible from application of technological resources to the field of education and / or oriented towards educational purposes. We contextualized the playful practices nowadays and discussed the ways of subjectivity and socialization mediated by new technologies bringing the contribution of classical and contemporary authors to debate. Working with the Actor-Network Theory as a methodological theoretical referential, we traced and aggregated publications that offered a basis to think the dialogue between the three themes. As part of this exercise, we incorporated the discussion of a mode of existence of playfullness as a possible key to understanding the modern.

The aim of this study is to analyze 10 dialogue facilitation meetings on the subject of the rights to LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) in the states of Parana and Minas Gerais, Brazil, following the Public Conversations Project (PCP), Boston, USA. 50 people attended the meetings, LGBT, LGBT family members, pastors, priests, LGBT activists, coordinators of religious groups, health professionals, educators, police and politicians. Social constructionist discourse supported the analysis of the meetings, the post-group discussions and feedback forms from participants about their participation in the meetings. Discussion highlighted: 1) the implications of valuing difference as ethical and epistemological commitment to conduct the PCP, 2) the need for reflection on the part of the facilitators with respect to which differences they can/should be committed with, and 3) the questioning of which intended and achieved effects give direction to the commitment of the facilitators with the difference in the group.

The aim of this research was to analyze the effects of the participation of health, education and religious professionals in public conversation groups with LGBT people. Participants were interviewed some weeks after the groups for feedback. Professionals declared that this dialogic method (known as Public Conversations Project) allowed a qualification of their practices, awareness about the challenges of talking about gender and sexual diversity at their professional’s contexts, and a broader contact with narratives of violence and discrimination against LGBT people. The structure of dialogue allowed participants to talk and listen in a less evaluative context. Differences in the effects produced by each group are discussed in relation to the differences in the group composition and to the specificities of the health, educational and religious contexts.

Currently we experience what many authors call transition’s period from disciplinary societies to control societies, in this complex scenario, the subjectivation’s processes are crossed by molar lines and molecular lines, micro and macro political and many other phenomenas composed by device of power and control situations that produces truths and normative discourses about sexualities and genders. In the face of the devaluation and impracticability of subjectivities considered to be dissidents, the naturalization of biopower and the identity crisis, the psychological sciences are challenged not to turn into another one of the normative and standardizing devices that produces reproducing bodies and to favor the maintenance of the production system of capitalistic subjectivities.
